A great finale to this lovely series I was especial looking forward to Marion's storyas she was such a shocking character in the previous stories and I was sure she must have redeeming characteristics! Again a great book with all the lovely characters in the village and the perfect setting. Definitely recommend the whole series

Lovely feel good book. Unfortunately I hadn’t read the books that this one follows in the series. Will definitely be looking them up. You could jump in and get the just off it. But I imagine it would be better to start with book 1. The book was very well written. Nicely done. Easy to read

The Cornish Village School - Happy Ever After by Kitty Wilson

Marion is the mother every other mother remembers from their child’s school days. Bossy head of PTA, perfect wife and mother. Marion finds her husband IS having an affair so decides to start a new job venture event planning.

It took time for me to warm to the main characters though we do follow her own personal journey and the things she learns and start to make her a better and more likeable person.

It is beautifully set in Cornwall and well written whilst being last in this series.

I found the book a bit slow to get going and get into but general an ok summer read.

This was a lovely close to a fantastic series. Set in my favourite Cornwall, always a winner for me. This one features Marion- one of those 'difficult' characters trying to make a success of a new venture. Although she's not a pleasant character- you do get to see a different aspect of her and realise that there is a redeeming chink somewhere. Will she manage to organise her event in time- or will her past behaviour make it impossible?

I'm gutted that this fabulous series has had to come to an end, but wow it ends on a high,

Marion, the scary thorn in everyone's side in the previous books, is now the main character and she is a rather complex character

At times I hated her, at others I felt sorry for her, and I generally did want to wish her well.

It's a fabulous culmination and fitting end to this series, that has cemented the Penmenna school a place in my heart.

And I do have to say I'm rather curious as to what the author will be writing next.

This book surpassed my expectations - I started off feeling confused by the main character - her personality traits didn't fit inline with the usual "heroine" in these types of stories, however I finished the story pleasantly surprised by how her character arc had turned out....it all felt very real and relatable. This is the first of the Cornish Village School stories that I have read, however after finishing this I immediately downloaded all of the rest in the series, as I am intrigued to find out the backstory of some of the more minor characters. I would definitely recommend this book as one with plenty of twists and turns, moments of humour and genuine fun.

Marion and her family have featured in all of the previous books, so nice to have their own book and also to catch up with the characters from the previous books too.

A beautiful setting and a good summer read. Great escapism for a few hours.

This next book I HAD to read for The Hungry Readers Games, I’ve waited so long and had to grab the chance because I cannot believe we’re at the end of this brilliant series!! As you know we’ve spent the run up to this book with one character in the back of our mind that needed their story told… yes, we are at that powerful whirlwind on energy that is Marion.

Our real beginning of this book is at a place we see in rom com a lot, and my jaw dropped to the ground that the person in question could possibly have done what they did (yes I have to do this spoiler free!!). This for me was THE story.

As we followed Marion on her new direction in life I kept coming back to this and 1) was relieved the author had chosen a certain avenue 2) wasn’t sure about one of the people in the equation as I was so behind the other (okay I’m going to snap here, I love Richard so much!!), 3) was so taken with the timeline, which was epically done especially as it’s (sniff) the end of this series, and the vividness of both the events and the settings, which totally had me (special mention for the pub!) and also of course, the romance which was MAGNIFICENT!!!

A book I flew through, savouring it all (my only niggle at all was I slightly missed Marion being in her normal school role but her boys did a great job of filling the gap!!).

I normally thank the publisher for the book in return for an honest review, and I will here just because I’m nearly sure I have to log it on Netgalley, but actually this is an author I always buy too (for support because I ‘know’ her from bookland and her books are so wonderful and also to make sure I can somehow help put her where she deserves to be, at the top of the charts) and will continue to, and as well as thanking them for the book I’d like to say thank you to Canelo and Ms. Wilson for one of my favourite series. Beyond recommended for warmth, charm and just all round chick lit perfection! And for any of you lucky enough to have not read the series, get thee back to book 1 and you’re welcome!

Good storyline. great charcters, the story flowed really well, and it was a fun read. I sat and read this in the garden and it was a great way to while away an afternoon.

In this instalment we follow the story of Marion. The assertive, somewhat righteous, PTA chair and general perfectionist of Penmenna.

After discovering another woman in her husbands London apartment, Marion finds herself wondering what to do next. Her solution is to throw herself into a new event planning business.

This is the final book in the Cornish Village School series, one that I have enjoyed immensely.

This is the 5th book in the series and I have enjoyed all of them.

Marion Markshop is a real-life Hyacinth Bucket. She controls the PTA and everything and everybody she has dealings with. Her poor hard-working husband aptly named Richard loves her unconditionally. When he is unable to return home for their wedding anniversary to Penmenna from London because of work commitments Marion decides to go to his London flat and surprise him, armed with saucy underwear she gets out of the lift only to be faced with his secretary with nothing on but a towel and wet hair. Marion high tails it back to Cornwall and decides her marriage is at an end, she changes the locks on the doors and decides being a "single" parent she needs to earn her own money to support their 2 sons and continue in the lifestyle to which she has become accustomed.

She comes up with the idea of becoming an events manager, after all, doesn't she already organise the school function one of them being the very successful valentines party.
She begins by pressuring couples in the village to use her skills and get married, some of them have only been dating a matter of weeks.

Will she be successful, will her husband win her back and will I stop laughing at the antics her sons get up to.
Another excellent book, worthy of 5 stars.

I am so sad, I’m distraught, this is awful. It’s the last book in the fantastic series and I do not want it to end. These books are fabulous and the last instalment is no exception. Kitty’s characters are just so lovely, real heartwarming characters that you’d love to be friends with. The village itself I want to live somewhere like this, well it’s Cornwall so I want to definitely. It was wonderful to get to know Marion better in this book, the real Marion and so much more depth, as you go on her journey with her and see where she will end up. No spoilers, but you have to read it yourself, you won’t be disappointed. Sad to see it end but it’s been a wonderful ride.

Lovely setting, well rounded characters, an engrossing and entertaining plot.

Happy Ever After is the last book in Kitty Wilson's fantastic The Cornish Village School series. I have enjoyed reading about the staff at Penmenna School and hope she changes her mind in the future. I have read all five books and they are definitely on a par with Gervase Phinn`s.

Happy Ever After is focused on my favourite character, Uber Mum/head of the PTA Marion Marksharp. During the last book Marion received poison pen letters suggested her husband Richard was having an affair.

In this story Marion goes up to London to surprise Richard for their wedding anniversary. However when she walks into his flat she finds a female work colleague of Richard`s coming out of his shower just wrapped in a towel.

In shock Marion decides she will never forgive Richard`s adultery and knows they will divorce. In order to start making money she decides to set up Marion Marksharp Events. In true Marion fashion she manages to steamroller Headmistress Rosie Winters and celebrity Angelica Masters to organise their wedding.

I enjoyed reading about Marion`s difficult childhood and how that defined her as an adult. I loved her husband Richard who adored Marion despite her godzilla tendencies.

The Cornish Village School series has been a delightful series. I always enjoy reading about the reoccurring characters from past books such as Rosie, Matt, Alice and Kam. It always feels like meeting old friends.

I highly recommend these light hearted summer reads.

This has been an absolutely fantastic series, and choosing Marion Marksharp to be the focus of this final book is nothing short of brilliant!

Marion has always prided herself in being in full control of everything in her life - husband, sons and most definitely Penmenna school's PTA which she rules over with a rod of iron. The very last thing she expected was her husband to step out of line but, when he does, she deals with the situation swiftly and concisely - and moves on. Marion swiftly sets about making a career for herself; organisation is most definitely what she excels at so what better than to be a wedding-cum-party planner extraordinaire? But can she pull it off at short notice?

Throughout the previous four novels in this series, the character of Marion Marsharp has always been larger than life and the cause of much laughter - so it was a treat to get to know her better. The laughter hasn't gone away though, but her personality - finally - begins to shine through. The antics of her boys has always provided much giggling, and this time round is no different. Up until now, her husband has been very much a bit player but this is our opportunity to get to see things from his perspective too. With all previous characters making welcome appearances, this is a fitting finale to what has been an amazingly entertaining series; I admit to being gobsmacked to note from the acknowledgements that these were the author's first ever books as the writing has always been so polished and accomplished. While this can easily be enjoyed as a stand-alone read I really would recommend reading the first four books before embarking on this one - trust me, you will understand Marion much better! A stupendous end to a sparkling series, and a novel which deserves no less than a full house of stars which I'm delighted to give it!

I have loved this series of books and I think the author saved the best one till last. Marian has certainly been a very forceful character in all the novels but she finally becomes to be a more likable person to all her colleagues. Have laughed and cried at the adventures her boys got up to. Loved the location and and there were some fabulous characters thrown into the mix which makes this a great read.

Another great book in the series of Cornish Village series, a different viewpoint on characters from the other books keep these fresh and fun.

Marion is happy in her marriage, even though husband Richard works away more than she would wish, while Marion and their three boys live in the small Cornish village of Penmenna. But when she makes a surprise trip to his London flat, and finds his colleague Claudia in residence, all Marion’s hopes and dreams crumble away. Can she rebuild her life and career as a single mother?

I found this quite a hard book to enjoy. It very quickly becomes apparent that Marion is one of those bossy types who everybody wants to avoid, and her three sons, Rafe, Rupert and Rufus, are spoilt and overindulged, and I wouldn’t blame Richard for having an affair. In real life, I don’t believe she would be able to walk in on and disturb a PE class, even as head of the PTA. When you have little sympathy with the main character, it’s very difficult to get emotionally involved with their story and so it proved in this case for me.

Maybe I’ve missed a key factor, maybe I just didn’t understand the characters properly, but either way, not a story for me, sorry.

Marion is a women who will only do things her way and expects everyone else to follow suit. She is happily married to Richard and they have 3 children. She runs the local pta with military procession along with all the teachers. However her husband works away and due to some unsettling letters she received earlier in the year, seeds of doubt begin to change Marion. Her marriage is under threat as is her “perfect” life. She decides she needs to get a job but what as she hasn’t worked but been a stay at home mum. What is she good at? Bossing people and planning events. However she’s not good at listening. As her life changes for the better, she begins to let people in, listen and make friends. The people in the village begin to like the new Marion and she begins to realise that Richard is her rock
