What a fantastic read! I will admit, when I started the book, I had the preconceived notions discussed in the book about "the pole." However, this book opened my horizons and while entertaining me, it also taught me more about the people that do pole fitness. I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read the sequel when it comes out. I highly recommend this book for a good laugh and a little learning.
I’m drawn to novels with a splash of politics and this one seemed entirely different than any other I’ve read so I decided to give it a try. In the beginning, I got a bit of Elle Woods vibes as Mel set out to do what no one thought she could or should do, but the book tone was a little too bloggy for my taste and since it’s a shorter book, I felt like much of the plot and character development was rushed. One of the most important takeaways from this book is it does try to shine a light on the criticisms and stereotypes women face when running for office. This book had a lot of potential, but it had something missing. Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
2.5 stars. ⭐️⭐️💫
A delightfully fun read in an age where everything has just gotten too serious... The protagonist is refreshingly different from most of the things I've come across in the past year or so, but she's also not the person you'll think from the book's cover. There's quite a bit of understory here, for each of the characters, and the ending was a head-turner!
This book was just ok for me. It's definitely low on steam but wasn't a bad read! It was quirky and flowed nicely just not really my cup of tea lol it decent! Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
