A good start for a debut author. The second chance romance was a great premise although there was some ambiguity as to the fault of the initial fallout laying with the hero, Lord Amesbury, or Lady Charlotte Wentworth's father. I am glad Lottie had to be the one to grovel to Ethan as her actions came off as overly independent and money driven. I'll be reading the next book in the series.

I really tried to stick it out with this book. I was able to relate with the characters. The plot sounds very interesting. What’s keeping me from continuing with the story via that I found certain parts of the story choppy. Some scenes have been skipped, cutting out the explanation of one scene leading to another. I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.

Any Rogue Will Do by Bethany Bennett is an excellent historical fiction romance that is the first book in a new series titled: Misfits of Mayfair.
I loved everything about this book. The main characters: Lottie and Ethan were perfect. Both characters had interesting backstories, pasts, and yet were realistic, like able, and were good people that learned from their pasts. Both evolved, grew, and improved themselves as the book goes on. Both improved for not only their own happiness, but also for each other. Lottie and Ethan may have come from different backgrounds, but they complemented each other perfectly and seemed to bring out the best in one another. And did I mention the chemistry? The chemistry is definitely there and radiating off of the page.
I also loved the cast of secondary characters: Cal, Connor, Darling, Patrick (hopefully we can see more of them as well), and Agatha. The humor, one-liners, and quick dialogue made this story fun, witty, entertaining, and enjoyable. There is so much more here that could be used for material in the future.
I enjoyed the plot, pacing, and the suspense thrown in. The obstacles were creative and gave the novel an extra element of complexity that kept me entertained. I also truly loved the ending. It could not have been more perfect.
5/5 stars enthusiastically
I truly, truly enjoyed this book from beginning to end and I am so excited to see that there will be more books in the future. The next book, West End Earl, will feature Ethan's best friend Cal. I cannot wait to visit my favorite characters again!
Thank you NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for this ARC and in return I am submitting my unbiased and voluntary review and opinion.
I am posting this review to my GR and Bookbub accounts immediately and will post it to my Amazon and B&N accounts upon publication.

I loved this book. I just wish it was longer. The characters live and pull you in. You can feel their joys and sorrows, and will be happy when love finally conquers all.

What a lovely debut novel! Also, loved her opening comments!
Charlotte had one season and it wasn’t good. She was labeled Paper Doll Princess by the newly arrived MacMcBrute, the earl of Amesbury. She retreated to her country estate, lost her brother and mother, took over the care of the estate for seven years until her father came out of his grief. She has been given an ultimatum: find a husband or marry the earl of Montague. She heads to London to stay with her Aunt Agatha, only to run into Mac along the way. Both have changed over the years and it is a good story to see how their relationship develops! Looking forward to more by Bethany.

This was such a cute story wrapped in some pretty sexy scenes. The heroine had been embarrassed by the hero years ago during her first season. She had always planned on coming back, dressed to the nine's, with the hero left grovelling at her feet, but her family members died and she had to take care of the estate and her father. She is on her way to London, when there is an accident and she ends up running into the hero. He is in the area looking for hops. He takes care of everything and they strike up an 'acquatiance', since they can't be friends. When they both get back to London, they meet at a dinner party where they are expected to behave like enemies on show. But they turn the tables on everyone by acting like best friends. The heroine finds out that her father has engaged her to a good looking, but evil man. She retaliates by announcing an engagement to the hero, but it is a fake engagement. It sounds a little messed up, but really, it isn't. The author is able to keep the story on track and an attraction blossoms between the main characters. In fact, it is a very well written story that just grabbed me as a reader and I flowed along. Even though this was an enjoyable story and I liked it, the sex scenes were too explicit for me. I recommend this book with 4.5 stars

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.
During her first season, many years ago, Lady Charlotte Wentworth was embarrassed and ruined by who she thought was her suitor, Ethan, Lord Amesbury, and left with the Paper Doll Princess moniker. Now, after losing her brother and mother, and her father ignoring her in his grief, she has been running her family's estate, and wants only to be allowed her dowry and to have her own estate. Her father has other ideas, though, and has arranged for her to marry Lord James Montague, the youngest son of one of his friends, and Lottie only has until the end of November to find someone else to marry. After a carriage accident that leaves her with a head wound, and her carriage driver with a broken leg, she is to recuperate at a nearby inn, and the person to come to her aid is none other than Ethan. She's determined to ignore him, but once she gets to London to start her husband hunting, he's everywhere, and wants her forgiveness. When Ethan first met Lottie, he had just inherited his estate, and being transformed for a Scottish shepherd to an English lord is a big shift. He knows he'll need to marry well, to keep the estate afloat, and sets his eyes on Lady Charlotte. When her father refuses him, though, he runs his mouth, which leads to Lottie being ridiculed, and hates him. He's never forgot her, not really, and living near her in town allows him to form a friendship, and later a fake engagement to put off Lord Montague who is hiding something. Will Lottie and Ethan be able to cope with their attraction, and call off the fake engagement by the end, or will their chemistry ruin them for all others.
This book is one I had one my radar for a while, and when I was initially rejected for the review copy, I was gutted. Luckily, I was sent a widget to read, and as soon as it downloaded onto my phone, I couldn't stop myself for starting it. Lottie was such a lovable character, who sort of reminded me a little bit of Elizabeth Bennet, in her ability to take charge, and run the estate when needed. She's never really wanted to marry, not after seeing how her parents basically ignored their children, or when her mother died, but being forced to marry Montague, who was a wrong-un, through and through, makes her take heed, and try and find someone. With her trusty maid, Darling, and godmother, Aunt Agatha, in tow, she starts going to society events again, where Ethan is at every corner. All of the ton is expecting there to be a scandal when Lottie and Ethan meet, but they won't fall for it, until it comes for them to start their fake engagement, and Montague is lambasting them to all who would listen. When Ethan and Lottie are together, the chemistry sizzles, and it's impossible to not ship them. There's definitely ups and downs in this book, where we are at the edge of our seat, hoping the heroes will be together, and being unsure how they can be when events occur. I'm overjoyed with how the book ended, though, and can't wait to read West End Earl, which is Cal's story, because he was a perfect friend to the pair!
