Well, I was super excited to read this book - I'll never turn down a good Christmas story, and everyone can use a lil Christmas cheer and hope right now, I think. But this one...pretty much fell flat for me, honestly. I hate to leave bad reviews, but most of the characters were kind of flat and for a Christmas romance, there wasn't much Christmas or romance in this one. Most of the characters were Emma's frien Gillian's rich family, who were all snobbish and extremely selfish except for the sister's brother, Grant. For a character as kind as Emma, it's hard to believe that she is still close friends with Gillian, especially for fourteen years. I can imagine that Gil's family's snootiness and Emma and the main male character/love interest, West/TW Prescott, were so comparably flawless in order to make them more loveable, but in this case, it just didn't work well. Just made me eager to be done with the book. Most of the book was eaten up by Gillian's catty attempts to steal West from Emma, and the ending was completely rushed. While the story had good bones and the opportunity for potential, I have to give this one 2.8 stars, rounded up to 3. Maybe it's someone's cup of tea, but it wasn't for me.

This was an incredibly cute Christmas read, with a very Hallmark premise. Being a fan of Hallmark books, I thoroughly enjoyed the wintery and gorgeous getaway.

Read like a Hallmark movie but for once I didn’t mind. I really loved the main characters dynamics, I have been to where the book was set it was fun to read about places where I was familiar with. I have enjoyed this author’s books. I’m a fan.

Emma is a schoolteacher and musician living in warm, sunny Arizona. She desperately wants a white Christmas and gets her chance when she's invited to spend Christmas with her friend, Gillian's family.

Tyler Prescott is a hugely successful musician and songwriter. He has already decorated his house for Christmas when his mother decides to take a house in Arizona for the season. Tyler's Christmas card lodge has been swapped for Gillian's family home.

When Tyler's doesn't make a clean getaway before Gillian's family arrives, he introduces himself as the caretaker. Sparks fly between Emma and Tyler; however, Gillian discovers Tyler's true identity and becomes the huge fly in the ointment.

Will Gillian get her way, or will Emma and Tyler find happily ever after? This us an enjoyable story and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, holiday read.

In the interest of full disclosure, I received a free digital copy of this book from Net Galley.

Super cute and quick story where Emma joins her friend’s family to spend the Christmas holiday house swapping to see Breckenridge’s beautiful snow and slopes and escape Arizona’s heat. What she didn’t know was that she would fall for the homeowner who accidentally got stuck in Colorado.

There are lots of near misses, trickery and plots against them but of course in the end, you will get your Hallmark ending. Short and sweet to get you in the holiday mood.

Thank you to Netgalley, Revell, and Melody Carson for an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for a fair and honest review. You won’t want to miss this adorable story, and if you love audiobooks like me, the narrator Hope Newhouse does an excellent job.

This one wasn't for me! I love Christmas stories but this one was a little too sugary sweet for me. SImply personal preference.

This is a very cute, very Hallmark like Christmas book that just left me with all the Christmas feels! It doesn't have all the elements of the aforementioned comparisons, there is no ice skating, but you have a lot of those things you would expect in a feel good happily ever after Christmas story.
In this book, Emma Daley, part time substitute teacher and wannabe musician living in sunny Arizona has never once seen snow so when her friends family (the one she always spends Christmas with since her parents are off doing good in Africa) tell her they are doing a house swap this year with a family in the Colorado Rockies she just can't refuse this years invite as well!
Tyler Prescott is a song writer and singer and he's quite popular and in demand. His mother convinced him to do a house swap with a family in Arizona for the holidays. He reluctantly agrees but fate steps in and he doesn't quite make his flight on time. Instead he runs into the sweet and adorable Emma. Well, some of the rest of the guests at his home may not be as easy to deal with she sure is. However, he doesn't want them all to know who he is...
This is a good book. I really like Christmas romance stories that are just plain cute and that you know are going to wind up cute. This is the kind of book I like to read when I just want that pick me up and want it to be holiday themed. Is it entirely original all together? Nah but it's got characters that are unique to this story and the story itself is one that hasn't been told exactly as it's written here. I just had a nice fun time reading this and it left a big smile on my face.
If you are like me and just want a feel good Christmas story that leaves you with that good feeling then you may just like this story. It's also not all that long so you can read it in just a sitting or two.

Nice story - it's not a long book so the time passes quickly. Enjoyed the romance, but mostly the holiday spirit & Christmas feel of it. Found the Landers family to be utterly terrible all the time...but I suppose it's also a good measure of the author's writing, that she can put across characters you love to despise, because they just ring so true in their nastiness! Quite a feat that, actually!

Wow... I was not quite ready for Christmas... but I couldn't turn down this sweet book! I loved the sweet chemistry between Emma and West. Unfortunately because of time, I have had to just skim this book, but it is looking to be a great read! (I'm half in love with the MC's already...)

Christmas is my favorite time of year, and I love music so this book has been right up my alley so far! I can't wait to finish it, and to read it again with some hot cider at Christmastime!

Thank you so much Revell for my ARC of this book!

Cute holiday and wintery story featuring people trading homes for the holidays. Emma heads to Colorado for a respite and gets way more than she bargained for.

A romance you never get tired of reading. If I need a break from real life I can always find escape in a cozy romance. The Christmas Swap filled my reading needs. Not a great work of art, but just what I needed an escape from the real world.

An enjoyable Christmas story. Liked the main characters. Conflict seemed a little forced. Overall, a nice quick feel good story. * I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

When Emma is invited to go for a Christmas vacation with her friend Gillian she goes to keep the peace and to experience her first snowy Christmas. Gillian's family have agreed a house swap with a family from Colorado.
West, who owns the property in Colorado, and is a famous song writer, finds himself in the midst of this family party while his family are having Christmas in Phoenix.
West gives Emma some skiing lessons and develops feelings for her.
The story is pleasant enough but lacks any great spark or gripping story.

The Christmas Swap was a nice break. It was just want you would expect in a cozy winter read. Sort of reminded me of a Hallmark movie! If that's you type, this book is for you.

I look forward to Melody Carlson's Christmas book each year. This was a short and sweet romance that had some secrets, some not so nice friends, skiing, and Christmas. Emma Daley has never seen a white Christmas, so when her friend's family invite her to go with them to Breckenridge, Colorado for a house swap she is ready. She is loving the snow and the small town, but her friend and her mother, both entitled and rather snooty, are not happy with anything. Emma meets the caretaker of the house and they become friends. As it turns out, he is not the caretaker, but the owner of the house, a well-known songwriter. Things do not go well when that secret is revealed. Emma and West (Tyler/TW) are great characters. They are both very down to earth and caring. I was rooting for them to work things out. I enjoyed reading about the fun they had and their adventures. This was an inspirational, new beginnings uplifting story that was a perfect afternoon read.

The Christmas Shop by Melody Carlson

This was another heart-warming cozy. It takes place in Arizona and Colorado. The families swap homes in order to have a different holiday vacation. Many emotions come to surface and we can read how the characters react to them.

Thanks to Net Galley for sending an advanced reader’s copy to me for review..
