This series was my first time reading Tari Faris, but it won’t be my last. This book made me smile as a feel good romance novel. I read the first one in the Restoring Heritage series and loved imagining the town of Heritage. I read this one and then immediately read the third and final one in the series. These are all great standalone novels, but I enjoyed dipping back into Heritage each time. The town was a character on its own especially with Otis, the brass hippo! I just noticed three novellas also set in Heritage, Michigan, so you know what’s going on my reading list!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions in this review are my own.
Just what I expected based on the cover, a cute romance with some good swoony characters. Not something I would buy for the library but something for adults if I go back to working at a public library.
I have really been enjoying the Restoring Heritage stories and this book was no exception. With a character who is a librarian in a small town, this book really does capture everything close to a book lover's hearts! I have loved the connections between the characters in this whole series. This was such a sweet story and I can't wait to finish the rest of the books in the series.
This story has all the ingredients for an emotional, heartwarming read that will make you sorry to reach the end.
Two brothers, chasms apart from past mistakes. A young woman seeking a fresh start. A small town in need of some overhauls-of the appearance and of the heart.
Tari Faris is a masterful storyteller, taking you into the heart and souls of her characters. I laughed and cried, despaired and rejoiced with these characters.
The theme of forgiveness and grace was excellently displayed. And the romance between the characters was lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read the rest of the story. I was given this copy through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review and opinions.
A heart warming, beautifully written story. I loved the characters, the setting, and the general flow of this story. A truly wonderful book.
Until I Met You is a difficult book for me to review. I'm not sure why exactly, but I just didn't love it like the first book. I enjoyed the story overall, but there were just little things that annoyed me at times. I also had a little trouble keeping track of the characters at first.
Still, I did like the characters and thought both love stories were really good. I loved the setting and library aspect.
All in all, Until I Met You was a good read, although not as good as the first one (in my opinion).

Until I Met You is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by Tari Faris. It will not be the last. I thought this was a pretty good read. I give it four and a half stars.
Libby Kingsley has been through trauma and heartache. She hopes to put all that in the past and make a new start as the librarian in the small town of Heritage, Michigan. Austin Williams is desperate to save his father’s landscaping business, and hopes taking on the project of the town square/library will be the key to solving their financial problems. Pastor Nate, Austin’s brother, has asked forgiveness for his past, but still carries guilt for how his past actions affected his family, and is seeking reconciliation with Austin. Olivia is seeking to begin a new career as a journalist and finding it difficult to get a foothold in that field. Libby and Austin are forced to work together on the town’s project; Olivia and Nate are trying to discover if there can be a romantic relationship between them.
There’s quite a bit going on in this book, and there were times in the first few chapters that I had to backtrack and get the characters and their relationships to each other straight in my mind. However, I’m glad that didn’t stop me from reading this beautiful story. The theme of forgiveness—forgiving others and yourself—plays an important part in this storyline. I also liked the theme of “ trusting a known God with the unknown future”. Libby, Austin, Nate, and Olivia must learn to see that God can not only forgive, but His love can light the way.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
This is a greatbook. Austin is finding his way in life and Libby is rebuilding her life.
Libby has moved to Heritage for a few things and one is to rescue the library that has been closed.
Libby is sweet, funny and shy. She meets Austin and is enamored by him.
Austin has issues with his brother and he helps Libby to trust.
Libby feels safe and protected with Austin and helps reconcile the brothers
Libby brings so much to his life, including love.
There are so many wonderful things and one of them is to not be afraid when you have a know God.
I am going to have to read number 1 in the series and I picked this book due to the cover and the
A heartwarming, feel-good romance that is clean and fun. This is the second book in the series but is stand alone. A story about mistakes, hurt and forgiveness. From the first meeting between Austin and Tara, things do not seem to be meant to be - Tara's dog escapes the yard and finds Austin's pure-bread. Austin can be quite prickly, especially when it seems like Tara is trying to change his design for the town square. And Tara is trying to get back up and build a new life. While Austin and Tara are the protagonists, they are not the only ones we get to follow, Nate and Olivia are as compelling. Nate, Austin's brother and town pastor, has made some mistakes and seems to be able to forgive everyone except himself. But Olivia, Tara's house mate is undeterred by his opinion of himself. Between the four of them, there are some comedic moments, some heart-felt ones, some heart-wrenching, and some romantic. A nice feel-good read if you like small-town Christian romance novels.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Loved this book and the beautiful story of second chances. I read the first one and this one back to back, since I couldn't get enough of the delightful small town vibe.
Until I Met You is my first experience of a Tari Faris novel. I’ll be picking up the first in the series and anything else she writes. I should say though, I didn’t feel like I’d missed out, but rather want to go back and read backstories.
Heritage, Michigan is looking for a new librarian and Libby Kingsley, lover of literature and libraries needs a new start. Unfortunately, before she’s even unpacked, her dog has caused mayhem by possibly dallying with her grumpy neighbor’s prized Husky.
Austin makes his feelings clear in no uncertain terms and Libby learns to avoid the grouch next door. Then a town construction project throws them together and their feelings start to change.
Until I Met You is a great example of how important a role forgiveness plays in second chances. Both Libby and Austin need to free themselves of painful pasts if they’re going to stand any chance of a future together. Their journey to healing is bumpy in places but keeps the pages turning in a most satisfying way.

Romance, clean; Series but stand-alone; 4.5 so very good!
This novel starts with Hannah and her brother Thomas. Lovely portrait of small town life and all that entails, everyone in your business, along with having your back. Hannah and Luke were a great story, along with Thomas, and his choices. There was hope, healing, in the midst of misunderstanding, near tragedy, and drama of various kinds. Dreams changing, and morphing into a hopeful reality, with growing faith, and learning to trust in God's plans, and coming to understand that part of spiritual life again for many of the characters.
Lovely both Hannah and Luke, and Thomas and his choice, just sweet romantic reads as they learn to communicate better, share their true hearts, and trust that life will bring something better for them as they learn to be with one another, and give their best selves. If you are Christian Romance fan, this a perfect read. Honest, hurting, heartfelt, struggling characters with faith, and hope for good things for their hearts and their town. I love finding a new author and this will not be the first by this author that I will read. Can't wait to visit this small town again! This lingered with me long after I finished!
I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review, my opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this book for many reasons. I loved the library theme, the remodeling part and the serial reader they added in.
I struggled with the relationship parts of the book, and without giving any spoilers, I felt like for one character, the flaws were dealt with really well. For another, I felt like his disordered behavior came off as abusive at times, and was ignored as being grouchy or irritable. I did like him, but I struggled to know if he was healthy and thought he needed therapy or anger management.
This writer is very talented, as even though I was exhausted, I wanted to keep reading past my time limit. I would recommend the book, even though I wished things were written a tad bit differently as I don't think that was how she meant it to come across.
Another great read by a talented author I really enjoyed reading it and will definitely read more and recommend reading it
Until I read Until I Met You, I had not read anything by Tari Faris. The synopsis caught my attention when I was looking for my next read so I thought I would try it.
This is such a sweet story about second chances and forgiveness! Austin and Libby had each experienced hurts that led them to the town of Heritage and left each one fearful of trusting. Austin's pain and the unforgiveness he held onto caused him to be quite prickly! I did love the way Libby continued to forgive him for his attitude and wasn't afraid to confront him about it!
Aspects of the prodigal son parable played a significant role, with Austin being the older brother. It made me understand his frustration with his father's kind treatment of his younger brother; and how it felt like a rejection of all Austin had done.
My favorite spiritual lesson, however, was that of grace. Nate, the younger brother, still felt tremendous guilt over the sins of his past and though he knew better in his head, his heart had him volunteering all over town and doing what he could - not for salvation but more as penance. I was touched when he finally realized this is what he was doing!
I enjoyed Olivia and her research for the article she was assigned. My favorite was the fishing trip! I would love to see the articles she came up with, at least portions of them, though. It was a little disappointing not to see what she wrote.
Until I Met You stands alone, though several of the characters have had their stories told in previous books of the Restoring Heritage series. Not having read them, I am intrigued and would like to see how they ended up where they are now. So I will be reading more by this author.
If you enjoy small-town, Christian romance, be sure to get this series for yourself.
I didn’t get a chance to read and review Tari Faris’s debut novel, but reading the reviews left me with high expectations for Until I Met You. And, I have to admit, it took a while to see what everyone else saw.
Until I Met You starts with Libby and Austin meeting when Libby’s dog escapes and makes friends with Austin’s dog. She’s a purebred he was hoping to breed, so is less than pleased. As such, it’s not a great introduction to him as a character, and I did find him hard to warm to.
But it’s not just Libby and Austin’s story. It’s also Nate and Olivia’s story, and that’s something that confused me at first—Libby and Olivia had similar character voices, and I mixed them up a couple of times.
Nate is Austin’s younger brother, the prodigal. Austin has always done everything right, and picked up the pieces after Nate’s mistakes. Nate, now a pastor, is all too aware of his past mistakes and can’t get over them—to the point he keeps brushing off Olivia, who is interested in him.
I found Nate a much more engaging character than Austin. It did make me wonder what happened to the Biblical Prodigal Son after his father threw the party. Was he able to accept his inheritance, or was he more like Nate? I could totally see what Olivia saw in Nate, and why she kept pursuing him even after all the rebuffs.
Austin, on the other had, was somewhere between difficult and insufferable, and I had trouble working out what Libby saw in him. Yes, he’s loyal and hardworking and puts others first, but he is, frankly, self-righteous about it. And that makes him somewhat tiresome. The first half of Until I Met You had a lot of Austin being insufferable, and it got a little tired.
But the story picked up pace and interest in the second half. That’s when the spiritual aspects started to come through more strongly, and that was the real strength of the novel. Until I Met You is Christian fiction where the characters actually find the answers to their problems in the truths of the Christian faith. It’s refreshing, and I can now see why everyone raved about You Belong With Me.
I didn’t realise when I started reading, but Until I Met You is a sequel to You Belong With Me. The beginning of Until I Met You might also have been an easier read if I had read the earlier book, as then I would have known some of the characters—-Until I Met You introduced a lot of characters early on, and it wasn’t always easy to see how they fitted together. I guess that was covered in the first book.
Yes, read You Belong With Me first if you can, but don’t worry if you can’t. The strength of Until I Met You isn’t in the series characters, but in the relationship between the brothers. Like all relationships, it can be hard going but it’s worth the effort.
Thanks to Revell and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.
Thank you to Revell and Netgalley for the opportunity to read Until I Met you by Taris Faris.
Unfortunately, this book was not for me and therefore, I did not finish reading the entire thing. Two things were factors in my decision to not finish. #1 - Until I Met You is the second book in her series, which I did not realize at first. So I would recommend reading in order. #2 - The story was written with four different perspectives and three smaller storylines within the main. I had a hard time following along. For those reasons, I chose not to finish.
I would still recommend other reader to read this series as I feel it would be great for others. Thank you!
With her second book in the Restoring Heritage series, Tari Faris has penned a charming small-town story with a beautiful message of forgiveness and redemption. The characters are engaging and realistic with very human feelings and failings. It was easy to relate to Libby the new librarian and her hopes for a new beginning in the delightful town of Heritage, Michigan. Austin was a little bit harder to like initially with his resentment toward his brother Nate and his high expectations of everyone. There were a few times I wanted to knock Austin’s and Nate’s heads together and tell them to shape up. This is a sweet, clean story that was delightful in its presentation and uplifting in its messages. I’m looking forward to more books from this author.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy from Revell through LibraryThing and NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
It was nice to visit the town of Heritage, Michigan again. Although, being a Michigander myself, I didn’t think the assumption that Michigan would be warm in August and not hot was correct. August is when things usually “heat” up. But the authors note that you can never bet on Michigan weather was very true.
On to the story. There are a lot of characters to keep straight and I think if you haven’t read the previous book it might be even more confusing. I even had trouble remembering who the previous characters were and I read the other book.
With that being said it was an interesting story. I love the fact that the characters want to restore Heritage and the creativity they are putting into that.
Libby was a relatable character and Austin could be frustrating and rude, but that is probably what drew me into the story the most…and their dogs.
Overall, a nice read and a sweet romance.
