A clever romantic suspense tale. Widow with gun phobia meets new sheriff. Will she look past his required weapons? Who is causing problems in the small town? These questions and more will keep you intrigued and turning the pages. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.
Melody and Jake’s romance. Overall, I enjoyed the characters and story. Skimmed a bit at times, as the pace slowed every now and then. Would recommend this book.
I loved Melody. This title brought out all the "feels" from doing things to please others to what we often love most about small-towns. It was a great point of growth and moving on and I have several patrons who will love it!
Tangled Promises starts off with a bang than slow but believe me do not give up on this book because it is worth the read! The characters are likable and readers will be able to connect with them. Linda Trout keeps a even tone to the story as the mystery takes off the roller coast beginning readers high high and low low. The adventure will keep readers hooked.
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of Linda Trout Tangled Promise.
I liked this book but I found it to be a bit perplexing. It starts out with a horrific plane crash and then nothing else it really said about it🤷🏼♀️. There is really no tie into the rest of the story. Why was it even put in? Maybe I missed something but I really was excited to read how this airplane crash was going to play out and got....nothing.
The main character, Melody, has a best friend, Randi....but, again there wasn’t much substance going on with this wonderful, terrific friendship🤷🏼♀️
Melody feels a connection with Jake who is the new sheriff in her little town of Rock Ledge. I did enjoy their journey into figuring out their relationship.
I would like to read more from author Linda Trout. She is a new author to me and I liked her writing style. I’m hoping for a sequel to Tangled Promise.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author, Linda Trout, for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review.
Interesting characters who have their own hang ups,a mystery to solve and a pretty big twist. An easy read.
This is a well written book that hooks you on the first page.It has just the right amount of suspense to keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. If you like romantic suspense you will love this book! Thank you The Wild Rose Press, Inc via Netgalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Jake Bennett, new Sheriff in Rock Ledge, lost his job as a detective with Chicago P.D. due the loss of a witness and unfair media coverage. Things are looking up when he meets Melody Rose, owner of the Tangled Rose Café. Melody’s husband was killed by a veteran with PTSD upon his return from military service and she has an aversion to guns. The peace of Rock Ledge is shattered by a commuter plane crash, a missing prisoner and several acts of vandalism. An intriguing story with romance and a host of characters in this small-town mystery with an unexpected ending. I am hoping for a sequel as there were several characters that seem to be begging for their own story. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review.
