This is a super fun read. I really enjoyed this one!
Many thanks to the author, the publisher, and Netgalley for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
I’ve already seen how powerful of a tool this book is in helping counsel people out of guilt. Highly recommend to any counselors or those dealing with guilt.
Let Go of the Guilt by Valorie Burton is book that outlines what guilt is, why we continue feeling guilt even when it is not helping us, and how you can overcome guilt. I think from what the author describes she is actually referring to shame. What she describes is doing something or not doing something because it will mean we are a bad person, which is shame. I do think it would have been helpful for the author to make the distinction between shame and guilt. This book is filtered through a christian lens so that is also important for those that may not necessarily have the same world view. This was an interesting read, but it did not go beyond surface-level compared to previous related books I've read. Overall, this is a good book for Christians that want an introduction to guilt and how to recognize and overcome it with some strategies.
Many thanks to the publisher Thomas Nelson--W Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.
Highly recommend. It’s so hard to let go of guilt. This has helped me understand that I need to let go to have a thriving relationship with God.
This was a really good book. If you are struggling with guilt or low self esteem, then this book is for you. You can read it all the way through or choose chapters that are important and where you are now in your life.
