Everyday Stress Relief by Ruth White is a must read!! She covers the meaning of stress from biological and practical viewpoints and different ways to deal with it, I loved the practical exercises to become mindful and deal with stress under different scenarios. They are simple to follow. There are various situations applicable for all age groups.
I think pretty much everyone is extra stressed these days, but even just in our daily lives there can be big stressors that can cause all kinds of mental exhaustion. I like that this book was set up by different kinds of stress that can occur and offers a suggestions for countering that stress with breathing techniques, physical exercise, mantras, ect. I feel like this book could be helpful for literally any person that exists so I recommend it to absolutely anyone. We, especially in the United States, tend to go, go, go, and not really pay enough attention to self care. Everyday Stress Relief is a great place to start to change that.
This book is packed with techniques to cope with stress The author focuses on writing, movement, mindfulness, and reframing your thinking. I found the writing one to be the most difficult to keep up with, but also the most beneficial. I do feel less stressed since incorporating these techniques into my life.
This book needs to be in every home library! It is a helpful reference for managing stress in any given stressful situation. The author talks about the different stress triggers and pairs it with an easy, simple stress management activity to help you calm down and get through the stressful experience. Many of the activities can be accomplished in minutes and can easily be added into a daily routine to help alleviate and manage stress on a daily basis. Most of the stress management activities fall under four categories: Meditation, Excercise, Breathing Techniques, or Journaling. I have used several of the techniques the author mentions to help me deal with the stresses and anxiety in my life, so I know they work!
