Didn't realize this was part of a series, because I usually don't request parts of a series unless I start with the first. still, it was a pleasant enough read. I liked the characters and though a little confused at first, I got the gist. Will try to read the others.

This was a book that started as a novella meant to bring a duopoly together. I did not read the duopoly and that may have affected my rating of this book. For me the first 100 or so chapters read like 3 separate stories. The characters didn’t really start showing any interaction or acknowledgement of each other until past page 130, and even then it was very little until close to page 200. I understand what the author was trying to do with this book, but I don’t know if it was accomplished. I did however enjoy the characters. The magic system was fine. The writing style was not for me though. I do wish this author the best in her future books.

"The Loyal Whispers" by Kathryn Sommerlot is a fun read, with well-written characters, a new and interesting system of magic and religion, and a page-turning plot. It's a testament to her writing and world-building that I did not realize this was the third book in a series while reading the novel; it felt like a standalone story with its own rules, and I was personally excited to learn there is more to the story. Recommended for readers of YA fiction or LGBTQ fiction.

The Loyal Whispers caught my attention because it’s interesting plot and awesome cover.
When I started to read it just pulled me in to that world as I felt like I’m just got in the middle of everything. Although I didn’t read the first two books it was a good read. It was easy to follow as the author picked other characters than in the previous novels. A great fantasy book filled with action.

Thank you NetGalley for the free copy.

The Loyal Whispers, third book in The Life Siphon series continues the story from the point of view of different characters than the ones we followed in the first and second installments, although this was a really bold thing to do for the continuation of a series it is brilliantly done because we still get follow through these new eyes the characters that we loved from the two previous books while getting introduce to new characters, the world building is superb, getting to see how the world expands through out the series and the magic systems that's fascinating and connected to nature in such a way that almost feels real. This is a novel that will keep you hooked till the very end, filled with action and mysteries to solve. The small horror elements just give the novel a great element to keep you guessing and carrying more and more for the characters. This is in all a phenomenal world to get lost in while reading. Really hope the author continues writing about this world.
