I loved each story that reflected the anticipation of the season of Christmas. Each story was unique but I will showcase the one that spoke volumes to me. The platitudes of Christianity do not help when we are suffering great loss. Leesa had stepped up to teach her community scholars. She was suffering a loss of a relationship and the hope of a marriage and a family of her own. She was tested with a newcomer Tommy who had his own losses. His family and now he was living with a stranger Henry who to was not equipped to be father to Tommy. Tommy had lost faith and was now living in rebellion to all that wanted to help. His take that God did not exist and since God did not exist, sin did not exist. He lost hope and purpose.

Tommy's story and the other 3 stories are unique in the loss of hope and how hope is redeemed in faith. We all need stories like this to spark our own faith.

Kelly has written yet another, sweet romance story. I really enjoyed watching Henry and Leesa's relationship progress. Wreathed In Joy by Kathleen Fuller introduces Mary Wengerd and Jakob Mullet, who have been best friends since they were kids. They've been pressured by their family and friends and decide to date, with disastrous results. When they break up, their lifelong friendship is completely ruined. A year later, Mary is baking the groom and wedding cakes for a Christmas Eve Wedding. She loves the Christmas season and has always dreamed of getting married at Christmas. Now, she's wondering if she will ever get married. After she and Jakob form a tenuous friendship, Mary breaks her arm. Jakob steps in to help her with the cakes and Mary finds herself falling for him. They've already dated, and that ended horribly. Could their relationship succeed this time? I've always heard that the best relationships start as friendships and that's true. But, not all friendships are meant to be more. I truly related to what Mary and Jakob went through. I dated a best friend for a year and was very blessed that it didn't destroy our friendship. Kathleen did an amazing job portraying that difficult situation with Mary and Jakob's second chance. In a Christmas Prayer by Vanetta Chapman, widower Micah Miller runs the Amish Tour Company. He offers Englishers a glimpse of a simpler life and tea at Rachel King's. Rachel has never married and she recently lost both of her parents. When Micah finds an injured, abandoned dog, he gives it to Rachel to keep her company. Rachel is charmed by the dog but also finds herself considering the possibility of finding love. I'd never read anything by Vanetta before but I enjoyed this sweet story and hope it's not the last I read of hers. I truly enjoyed her characters and watching as Micah and Rachel fall in love. I truly love Christmas stories and this set of four stories really was a fun read. You won't be disappointed if you give it a try.

This is a great collection of sweet Amish Christmas stories that I thoroughly enjoyed from four of my favorite Amish writers. And I could never even think of picking a favorite among these four stories!! I love them all!

Amy Clipston’s Evergreen Love shares Lorene and Ryan’s story five years after a fierce breakup. The two are attendants at their siblings wedding. My heart went out for these two as they endured their time together. Amy Clipston creates beautiful characters that develop so well throughout the story. I love the sweetness of the Amish families. A great calm Christmas story!

Holiday of Hope by Kelly Irvin was such a fun read. I really enjoyed the banter between Leesa and Henry, especially as he told her how to do her job. Both a little feisty, it was quiet the scene! Using her wonderfully created characters that I grew to love, Kelly Irvin does an amazing job as usual, telling another wonderful Amish story, and a Christmas one at that!

Wreathed in Joy by Kathleen Fuller gives another sweet second chance stories for readers. After the breakup Mary and Jakob find themselves a year later involved in preparation for a Christmas wedding. Ms. Fuller pins a wonderful story of love, forgiveness and second chances. I love how the story unfolds and we get a glimpse of this beautiful couple.

And last but certainly not least, we have the finally story:

A Christmas Prayer by Vannetta Chapman

Vannetta Chapman’s story involves an Amish Tour Company, which I loved because I don’t read a lot of stories about this subject. Michael is a widower, and I think this tour company is the perfect job for him. And communication with the single lady, Rachel King gets intriguing and interesting for me! And what I would give to visit Rachel’s Tea. I can just feel the cozy little restaurant now. And I also enjoyed romance between a little older couple than usual.

A Sweet Collection

This is a beautiful and sweet collection of stories that was such a joy to read. They all shared the theme of love and hope during the Christmas season. Although they are novellas, each was written with just the right amount of details and and just the right pacing which made each story flow perfectly. I highly recommend it.

What a sweet collection of second chance at love and love later in life! It's always wonderful when I enjoy each story, and just can't stop reading. I was impressed by the vivid personalities, romantic chemistry, individual plots, and cozy Christmastime setting. The two that stood out to me are Holiday of Hope by Kelly Irvin and Wreathed in Joy by Kathleen Fuller. I admire when characters can make the best of a difficult situation and recognize the blessings that come because of their efforts.

This anthology is written by four well known and loved authors of Amish Fiction. The stories all take place at Christmas time, but have various amounts of Christmas Celebrations in the story. Each story has some familiar characters, names and settings, but are all individual stories that can be read without reading any of the authors' previous work. I am not going to summarize each story as you can check out the book blurb for that, but will tell you how I felt as I read them. My favourite of the four stories is Holiday of Hope. It might be because there was a child that was an integral part of the plot and I always enjoy when a child that captures my heart is in a story. Tommy is an orphan who recently lost his aunt that he had been living with. When he comes to live with his father's best friend, a man who has never married, he is hurting badly. I loved seeing how Henry and Tommy's teacher helped him get over some of his pain and believe in God once again. The last story in the book was also a favourite. It dealt with older characters (in their 60s), one a widower and one never married. They are brought together by a business venture and an abandoned dog. It was sweet and believable. All four stories were great, and the other two dealt with second chance romances. If you enjoy Amish Fiction, I recommend An Amish Christmas Wedding.

This is an Amish Christmas book. This book has four short stories in it. My favorite of the four short stories was Holiday of Hope by Kelly Irvin. I enjoyed each story, but I wished they where longer, but they are short stories. The stories do not have anything to do with each other, but they all are well-written. I normally do not like short stories, but I really liked these short stories. What I think about this book:

This was a super cute compilation, I enjoyed getting to see the writing story of each author. Each story was unique and captured my attention. I like that Evergreen Love was about second chances and talking through problems. Holiday Hope showed how gentle love and patience can help heal hurts of the past. Wreathed in Joy was a joy to read as Mary and Jakob worked together to regain the friendship they once had. I enjoyed how A Christmas prayer had more mature characters than the typical romance. This is a nice Christmas read to help get you in the spirit.

There is something extra special about Christmas books and that this one has four novella length Amish stories by my favorite authors is a bonus.
I'll admit to reading Christmas books not just at Christmas time but all year for that warm fuzzy feeling they bring me. They are a warm hug with a cup of hot cocoa kind of book that I can't get enough of.
An Amish Christmas Wedding is such a fun and clean romance story, a fast read for me.

Although these stories focus on relationships, they are by no means romance stories alone. In each telling, the main characters face obstacles to their relationships: old hurts, past secrets, family situations, and widowhood, to name just a few. The characters range in age from young adult to senior citizens. While each story is set in an Amish community, the stories display differences that make each of them unique and interesting in their own right. Although the action is set during the winter holidays, each story could have been set at any time of the year. Each is a stand alone and can be read on its own. The stories are clean and sweet, without any use of strong language or graphic descriptions of violence or intimate situations. They are strongly recommended to readers who enjoy well-written stories about Amish people. Discussion questions and author bios are included.

An Amish Christmas Wedding is four novellas from your favorite Amish authors! Each one is full of love and joy and Christmas spirit! I really enjoyed these stories, as I always do when reading works by these ladies.
In the first story, Evergreen by Amy Clipston, Lorene's younger sister is going to marry her ex-fiancé Ryan's younger brother! Talk about awkward! When Lorene agrees to be her sister's side sitter, she realizes that she will have to spend a lot of time with Ryan. The more time she spends with him though, the more she realizes that she never really stopped loving him. How will they get through this Christmas wedding without shattering her heart?
In Holiday of Hope by Kelly Irvin, bachelor Henry agrees to care for ten year old Tommy, the son of his deceased friend. However, Tommy is hurt, angry, and confused. Leesa, the new teacher at the Kootenai school, is determined to help Tommy, but will she find more? Could she also find hope for her future with Henry?
Wreathed in Joy by Kathleen Fuller follows Mary and Jakob, two people who have been friends their entire lives. When they try to date, their friendship falls apart and they lose touch. However, when Mary breaks her elbow at Christmas time, Jakob determines to help her finish getting ready for the holidays, including some cakes for a friend's Christmas wedding. When sparks start to fly between them, can they both put the past behind them and face the future?
The last, but certainly not least, story is by Vannetta Chapman. It is the story of Micah and Rachel, two people who are older, but still young at heart. Widow Micah brings Englishers to Rachel's home for tea on Amish tours. The more time they spend together, the more he hopes for a future with her. Rachel has never married and recently lost her parents, but is surprised to discover she has family she never knew about. When Micah brings her an injured and lost dog, they begin to forge a new future together.
I truly enjoyed this book. I love heartwarming romance, especially Christmas ones! Just in time for the holidays, this is a set of beautiful stories that will make you want to enjoy more!

A pretty decent Amish themed Christmas novel. Didn’t connect to the characters that well but was a nice read x

This is a lovely collection of Amish stories by some very talented writers. Each of these stories feature interesting couples that immediately drew me into the story. Although these stories are shorter in length, each one felt complete, and the endings weren’t rushed. Since this collection has a Christmas wedding theme, it was fun following each couple as they had to overcome difficulties to reach their own happily-ever-after.


This is perfect, heartwarming reading for the holiday season. I’d love to read another collection by this same group of authors. These stories are sweet and clean, and have an emphasis on trusting God for guidance.

Christmas time is approaching and the perfect thing to get you in the mood is a great Christmas story. These four stories keep the commercialization out of the stories as we look at Christmas from an Amish point of view. There are stories full of reality and hardships that have the reader wishing the characters the best.

Evergreen Love – Lorene had resigned herself to the fact that her young love did not work out and she will remain single the rest of her life. But when her once love enters back into the scene, will they be able to be in the same room again? Their feelings are complicated but will they be able to work it out again? I quickly was thrown into the believable story and cheering them on!

Holiday of Hope – When a single man suddenly is the caretaker of a young boy, he has his hands full. Teacher Leesa Yoder has taken on the challenge to help her student as well. Can they help the young boy who has faced so many difficulties early on in life to begin to thrive again? I really enjoyed a story that was not a typical Amish storyline and addressed hardships from several points of view.

Wreathed in Joy – Two best friends decide to give dating a chance. Will it work out? The sudden pressure for a romantic relationship didn’t work for Mary and Jakob. Can they become friends again or has too much damage been done to their relationship? I had a hard time putting the story down to find out.

A Christmas Prayer – Lastly, romance is not only for the young. I loved to see how the budding relationship between Micah and Rachel developed right on the pages of the story. To see the love for each other stretch beyond his desires was remarkable. He seemed to know exactly what she needed in every situation as he was attuned to her.

I would have a very time choosing a favorite of the four books. Since they are short stories, the authors had to do their best to introduce the characters, help the reader relate, and express the problem in a very short amount of time. I felt as if all four did this is remarkable ways. I was invested in the storyline of each story and wanted to know how it would end. The fact that it centered around Christmas was an added bonus!

I love Christmas stories. I love Amish books. And what a treat when it is a book of the Amish community during the Christmas season. I quickly picked up the book and got myself comfortable. The authors are all familiar to me so I knew it was going to be good.

Each story is a gift to cherish and enjoy. The Amish couples in the stories learned valuable lessons such as forgiveness, hope and that GOD will never forsake them.

4 Amish couples find a second chance at love and hope for a new beginning in this Christmas collection of novellas.

I enjoyed this heartwarming collection of unique love stories by some of the biggest names in Amish fiction. Some couple get the chance to rekindle an old flame, while others have their eyes opened to the opportunity for love around them.

I liked the second chance to right a misunderstanding in Evergreen Love. And I couldn't resist my favorite trope of all of friends to lovers in Wreathed in Joy, I liked their ease with each other, and how much they knew the other. I admired Henry and Leesa's patience and love for Tommy, in Holiday of Hope, as well as how they made a good team, as they worked to find solutions for the challenges they faced. And I absolutely loved how A Christmas Prayer focuses on an older couple, and the dog that brings them together, because I don't think that young people should have all the fun.

Overall, a sweet heartwarming Christmas collection of stories, set in various plain communities across the country. I loved the meeting the characters and their families as they prepared for the holiday. This would also make a great gift for the Amish fiction lover in your life.

I love books where authors come together and give readers a collection of stories packed in one book. These stories are entertaining and allows us to visit the Amish during holiday times. Each story is a stand alone yet each author made their story flow easily into the next. . Enjoy your time getting into the holiday spirit.

Evergreen Love byAmy Clipston

What a great story about second chances. It was sad that Lorene and Ryan ended their engagement. I think Lorene didn’t really give Ryan time to explain why he kept putting off building a house for them. We sometimes make rash decisions in the heat of our emotions and regret them later.

I couldn’t wait to see what would happen when Ryan returns after being away for several years. Lorene learns a valuable lesson in sharing her feelings and allowing Ryan to finally open up to her. There is something special about weddings. Lorene and Ryan experience some awkward moments but God had a plan for them. It is a wonderful and sweet story of family, forgiveness and finding happiness.

Holiday of Hope by Kelly Irvin

Oh my did this story tug at my heart. Can I just give Tommy a big hug? The pain of feeling all alone in the world is hard for Tommy. Now after losing the last person he cared for he is shuffled off to live with Henry. This child need some compassion, guidance and someone who cares about him. It was sad to read that Tommy doesn’t believe in God anymore. I can understand how hurt he is by losing family members. Sometimes we are mad at God because we don’t understand why bad things happen.

With the help of Leesa and Henry, maybe Tommy will let down his guard. Leesa is such a sweet character. You can tell right away that she cares about other people. I loved reading how Tommy slowly began to change and allow God to work on his heart. The Christmas program was fun to read about and I could tell Tommy was happy to be part of it.

“God has a way of leading us to water, doesn’t He? Now you just have to drink.”



Wreathed in Love by Kathleen Fuller

How fun it must be to have a wedding at Christmastime. The decorations are beautiful and families gather to share happiness and the holiday season. I couldn’t wait to see how the author would use this wedding to get two people back together. Mary and Jakob use to date but that ended a year ago. Now they find themselves spending time together helping Mary’s friend with her wedding. I would love to attend an Amish wedding someday.

I really liked how the story talks about friendship and helping others out. Mary has to rely on Jakob to help her with baking obligations when she is injured. It’s the perfect setup for these two to rekindle their friendship and perhaps more. The author delivers a wonderful story about trusting . It can be hard sometimes to let out guard down and allow someone in. Mary is a great example of learning to trust God with her feelings and giving Jakob the chance to try to repair their relationship.

A Christmas Prayer by Vannetta Chapman

There are so many things I loved about this story. I loved that it focused on older adults, a dog that stole my heart and finding love. It was nice to be part of the tour as Rachel opens her home up to tourist. She answered questions from them and I loved how she did it with grace. I learned that when Amish make quilts, they put a mistake in them to keep them humble. The answer Rachel gave about the Amish being a cult made me understand them better. They only worship God, not a person like a cult does.

Now on to the fun part of the story. Rachel is lonely and not excited to spend Christmas alone. How sad it was to learn that Rachel never married. Rachel’s friend Micah comes over with an injured dog hoping she will take the dog. After all Rachel is alone and the dog needs someone to nurse back to health. I laughed when Rachel said no as the dog’s big sad eyes looked at her.

There are a few surprises which really made the story more interesting. Micah and Rachel seem to slowly become more comfortable around each other and I was cheering for them to have the best Christmas ever. Prayers are powerful and in this story it shows that God does answer prays. He may not answer them as soon as we want but He has a plan for our lives. I would love to see a follow up story with Micah and Rachel because they are special people who represent that no matter how old you are, you can find love in God’s timing.
