Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read a free advance copy of this book. Unfortunately I hadn't found time during the year to read this book, and so I will be picking up a paid copy in 2021 to support the author instead as an apology.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was a very interesting read. I was both entertained and learned a lot. I anticipate reading future works from this author.
The founding fathers are one of my favorite topics of interest. Especially anything to do with Alexander Hamilton himself. And I'm a fan from way before the musical happened. Yes, it's partially because we share the same first name. Radical Hamilton is a look less at the person that Hamilton was..although it alludes to different personal events. Instead, it focuses more on the economic side in great detail and explains through Parenti's viewpoint what Hamilton was trying to say with every plan he put into action.
Unfortunately, it's a tad boring.
There's no excitement that the founding fathers are usually wrapped up in. If I wrote a book and said "I ate toast for breakfast" it'll give you the same feeling this book gave me about someone I love hearing about.
