"Easy" is a relative term and for me, someone who only knows how to do the very basics of origami, this was not easy. I definitely don't think this is for beginners. There is a brief summary of the types of folds, what the symbols mean, and diagrams of how to make specific folds. This was very helpful, but even these 3-step folds were complicated for me. There were some projects I was able to do with a lot of focus (and unfolding then refolding), but there were also some that I felt I would never be able to do. I really do appreciate the varying levels of difficulty it has, although I think it would be helpful if they had their difficulty ranked. It's nice to be able to do some and know that there are more projects that will take time to perfect.

Easy Aircraft Origami is a tutorial guide with 14 aircraft projects by Jayson Merrill. Released 17th June 2020 by rom Dover, it's 64 pages and will be available in paperback and ebook formats.

At the very beginning of the book are the symbol explanations and a VERY short tutorial (2 pages) for the traditional folds. This will help new hobbyists to be able to follow the later tutorials. Most of the pieces in this book are quite advanced and total newbies would be well advised to have some help or a mentor available for the later tutorials. The tutorials are clearly illustrated and explained, so it's possible that a patient and keen beginner could fold most of the included sculptures. There are some really impressive folds in this book, including the iconic F-X and the XA-20 razorback.

Dover publications has long been a standard bearer for beautifully illustrated well made crafts books. This one is no exception. Everything is top notch. The illustrations are crisp, and clear. There's not much color photography in the book, but the color plates which are included are clear, crisp, and illustrative. It's a nice collection with enough projects to keep enthusiasts busy for a long while. This would make a perfect gift for both aircraft and origami fans.

In fact, though I received a free e-book copy of this book for review purposes; I've already purchased a copy for my origami (and engineering) mad daughter.

Five stars

This is a cool book that shows some basic origami aircraft. Some of the designs were a little difficult to follow. I recommend this book.

I'm honestly not sure how to review this book. The projects seem really interesting, based on the cover. However, the images don't load in the review copy, so it's hard to say how easy-to-follow these directions are, since they are quite confusing without the images!
