I enjoy all of Elin's books. This was as expected and a good beach page turner. A bit formulaic but a great escape giving everything going on in the world.

This is the final installment of the Paradise series, and I wish I could have given more stars, but I had to wonder why a third installment was needed. We managed to sew up Rosie and Russ's story in a chapter but the rest of the book felt redundant and uninteresting. I had hoped for more and the ending fell short. This is the final installment of the Paradise series, and I wish I could have given more stars, but I had to wonder why a third installment was needed. A nice conclusion to a very enjoyable trilogy! I could've done without the cameos with the Hilderbrand's "Winter Street" characters (who weren't my favorites)--it felt we were going on an unnecessary tangent, moving away from the St. John crew that I've grown to really love. I wanted the focus to stay on them. Otherwise, loved it!

I absolutely enjoyed this last installment in the three book series. I have sometimes stayed away from Hilderbrand's work because of some of her early attempts, but I've really found that her latest works have been enormously enjoyable pageturners. This one was no exception. I read all three books one right after another, and I was so glad I didn't have to wait to find out what happened to Irene, Huck, Ayers, and the whole gang.

I also want to mention the island of St. John. In this entire series, I felt that the island itself became a character, and Hilderbrand did an incredible job of inserting her readers right into it. The descriptions were vivid, and, even though I'm not much of a beach person, I found myself very interested in experiencing the island for myself at some point!

The only negative aspect of the story that I found was the unnervingly quick way it felt like Irene forgave Rosie and Russ. I didn't feel like that rang particularly true to reality, but that, of course, is from my own personal viewpoint.

Overall, I highly recommend the intriguing and satisfying end to a wonderful triology!

This was the perfect ending to another great series from Elin, the queen of the beach read.

You jump right back into the drama of the Steele family on St John and don't want to stop reading until you get to the end. I loved the way the passage of time was shown and you got a peek into the minds of other secondary characters. I love how Elin weaves in previous characters to give you a peek into their lives.

Without giving too much away, this was just the best way to wrap up the series and I of course want more of this story but am happy with the way it ended.

I do not know where to begin. It started off a little slow for me but it definitely picked up. I would definitely read the previous books for a refresher. But I really need a follow up on Maia growing up and what happens with her! I hate that it’s the end of the road for the Paradise story!

Elin Hilderbrand finishes her Paradise trilogy with "Troubles in Paradise." I thought Hildrebrand did a good job of wrapping up the storylines of the main characters: Irene, Baker, Cash, Ayers, and Maia. Unfortunately, there just seemed to be too many extra characters to keep up with, and some of them had very similar names (Huck, Mick, Dunk) and it was hard to keep up with it all. The storyline also seemed to drag on quite a bit and wasn't as interesting as the previous books in this series.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

St. John is one of my favorite places and the author does a great job of making me feel like I’m there. As the third book in this trilogy, It was good to have some closure, but I felt like everything wrapped up a bit too quickly.

I loved the conclusion to this great series! It was super easy to get right back into the characters and their lives (and it did a really good job reminding the reader briefly of what happened in the first two books). I also loved the small tie-in with Elin's other characters at the end - a great touch for die-hard Elin Hilderbrand fans! There is a small spoiler in the author's note at the beginning, but nothing that ruins the book.

Thanks to Little, Brown and Company and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to @netgalley, @littlebrown, and @elinhilderbrand for my gifted copy of Troubles in Paradise! I was BEYOND excited to receive this book and finished it in a day. Troubles in Paradise is the third and final book in Hilderbrand’s Paradise series, and I’d recommend reading the first two books before you dive into this beauty. I’ll post the goodreads synopsis in the comments, and from this point on, there may be spoilers for the first two books in the series.

We pick back up after the cliffhanger at the end of What Happens in Paradise, where the FBI has come to take possession of the villa that Russell Steele bought without his wife’s knowledge. The book then follows the members of the Steele family, in addition to their close friends Ayers and Huck, and how the fall out from the FBI investigation into Russ’s death affects them all and the lives they’re trying to build in St. John.

I LOVED this book. The plot, character development, major events...all of it came together so beautifully, with no detail left out and no stone left unturned. All of the major players from the series were back (as were a few new people). Hilderbrand did a wonderful job of weaving together romance with a touch of suspense, and keeping me turning the pages to see what happened next or confirm if my theories were correct.

One thing I appreciate about the Paradise series (and Hilderbrand’s body of work in general), is that her settings are places that she is intimately familiar with and loves. You can tell how much time and work went into her descriptions of St. John, as they are extremely vivid and easy to picture.

Lastly, for Elin Hilderbrand fans, a character from one of her other books makes an appearance at the end of Troubles in Paradise. I’m not going to say who it is, but I will say that I was DELIGHTED to see her and the role she played in the ending. Fans of her previous books will absolutely love this part, in my opinion.

I absolutely loved this book. We definitely need to start with this- this is the third book in a trilogy. I didn't realize this when I began to read, but decided to go ahead with books one and two. I was NOT disappointed. If you haven't read the first two books, what are you waiting for?
Troubles in Paradise completes the story of Irene Steele, her two sons Ayers, Cash and how they are dealing with the shocking revelation her husband of 35 years was living a secret life on the tropical island of St. John. Not only that, he left behind a 12 year old daughter.
A satisfying conclusion, and a strong recommendation to read the entire series.

This was such a great 3rd book to complete the series. While I enjoyed the intrigue involved in how the Steele's lives unraveled, I found it more compelling to see how they built their lives back and created an extended family on St John. I enjoyed this book as my favorite in the series. On a personal note, My husband and I Honeymooned at Caneel & Little Dix Bay in 2004. We returned to St John, Jost Van Dyke, Tortola, several times after that but haven't been for many years. I loved revisiting all of our favorite places and it was amazing to be able to picture in my mind all the places that characters visited. AND Elin mention my small NJ beach town's name in her book!!! I was blown away!!! Manasquan, Brielle and Belmar got a shout out and I was floored to have another connection to this book. She visits our local bookstore and library for author signings but I have never would have expected to see us featured in this book!
I really enjoyed following the character's growth and development throughout the 3 books and felt all their storylines were wrapped up pretty nicely. All in all I felt it was a very satisfying conclusion to the story.

Elin Hilderbrand delivers a page turning conclusion to the beloved "Paradise" trilogy with "Troubles in Paradise." Through the dynamic characterization and soulful dialogue that Hilderbrand's fans have come to expect, she masterfully wraps up the trilogy in a way that is both satisfying and complete.

Didn’t want the story to end! After reading all three books in the series it feels like a crime to no longer be in the twisty, fulfilling, consuming characters lives anymore. This book brings you to the end of the journey for Huck and Irene- and all the family drama and love that surrounds them. Elin does an amazing job bringing you into the St.John lifestyle- although you aren’t a local you can feel like one with your toes in the sand. This book is the ultimate summer reading pleasure.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. This is the 3rd book in Elin’s Paradise trilogy. I read book 1, I didn’t read book 2 and now this one. She does a good job of making this book a stand alone but I feel I would have been better invested in the characters if I had read all 3. This book takes place in St. John before and after the last hurricane that devastated the island. Great read! #troublesinparadise #elinhilderbrand #oct2020

Troubles in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand is a women’s fictional novel about a widowed woman named Irene Steel who has set up a new life in the beautiful Caribbean of St. John’s after finding out that her husband Russ and his mistress were killed in a tragic helicopter crash. Irene must somehow pick up the pieces of her shattered life, and just when she thinks life can’t get any worse, the FBI launches a full scale investigation into her deceased husband’s shady business dealings and seizes all of her property and possessions. Irene’s two grown son’s, Baker and Cash, also relocate to St. John’s in the hope of jump-starting their own mediocre lives and support their mother any way they can.

This was a very satisfying conclusion in the Winter in Paradise trilogy! I enjoy reading ALL of Elin Hilderbrand’s novels, but this storyline was one of my favourites. A definitely recommend reading this novel if you’ve read the first two parts. I rate this novel 5 out of 5 stars.

Rich with characters i felt were alive every moment. The strength of some to go forward in life and the weakness of others. Love that is true and love for the moment. How this family of sorts comes together is unfathomable. Wonderful in every way
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this arc

The Steele family finds themselves back in St. John for good in “Troubles in Paradise” the final book in the Paradise series by Elin Hilderbrand.

Irene, Cash and Baker have all made plans to move to the island in hopes of a fresh start after their lives literally fall apart. What better place to live than St. John with people they have all grown to care for?

If only they could leave their troubles behind. Unfortunately for this group, trouble follows them.

“Love is messy, complicated and unfair.”

This is an attestation that everyone who was impacted by the actions of Russ Steele and Rosie can speak to in one way or another.

Then there’s the fact that Russ Steele was involved in some very shady business deals with very bad people.

One can hope that the bonds forged by Irene, Baker, Cash, Huck, Maia and Ayers are strong enough to weather even the worst of storms.

“Troubles in Paradise” is the last in the “Paradise” series by Elin Hilderbrand. While I liked this book, I didn’t quite love it. The first book in the series “Winter in Paradise was definitely my favorite while I felt that both “What Happened in Paradise” and “Troubles in Paradise,” left a little to be desired. While I felt the strength of a few of the characters storylines throughout the series (such as Irene, Huck and Maia) a few seemed to lose their focus and became wishy washy (i.e. Baker and Ayers) and that was a let down.

What I loved about this series however was the friendship between the characters. Specifically, how everyone seemed to look out for each other, regardless of what was going on in their lives. For me, Elin Hilderbrand excels in writing stories about a large cast of characters and weaving everyone stories together and that was evident here.

Admittedly, my favorite part of this book was the surprise at the end, when a character from another series appeared, giving us a glimpse as to how my favorite Elin Hilderbrand characters are doing now. Thank you so much for that Ms. Hilderbrand! Could you maybe write another book in that series, for me?!
3.5 Stars

As this was the end of the trilogy I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. The first two books consumed me. I was expecting more mystery and to learn more about Russell. It did tie it all together but also tied it up for his family he left behind. I loved this trilogy. I loved being part of the escape to paradise. I love how after tragedy it can bring people closer together then ever before.

Elin Hilderbrand has done it again. With her story taking place on the amazing island of St, John. Elin nicely wrapped up the last book in the trilogy in a wonderful way! It was so nice to see our favorite characters all dealing with their own problems and come together in the end. It was a bit "and they lived happily ever after", but in such a wonderful, Elin way. An amazing surprise was a guest chapter from the perspective of a character visiting from a different Elin series at the end. It made the book! Thanks for extending my summer just a little bit longer, Elin!

Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley.com for an ARC of this book in trade for my fair and honest review.
