Going back through my give feedback list and I cannot believe I forgot to post my feedback for Trusting Skylar. I love Susan Stoker books and this one is a really great start to this series. I read this book through my public library and did not download from NetGalley, but I do thank NetGalley and the author for gifting me a copy. Bull and Skylar were a wonderful couple and I loved how Bull took care of Skylar and how much she cared about her students. As with most Stoker books, Skylar needs help from the H and his teammates and it is done very well here. I really enjoyed this book.

Trusting Skylar wasn't my favorite book from Susan Stoker.
It has super suspenseful plot and wonderful complicated characters. intense, suspenseful with fast paced action, and sizzling, simmering romance. What you get from author Susan Stoker is a book you don't want to put down. Which makes the perfect escape to get lost into. Bring on the next book in this series. Happy reading everyone!!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. This book is a fast paced thriller. I enjoyed when the characters stick together. This book mentions different countries. I absolutely enjoyed Bull and Skylar's characters. The writing style is phenomenal. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. This book is stores for $12.95 (USD). The description of the characters within the book is fantastic.
I haven't read any previous books by this author but this was an interesting read.. A romance set against a previous military background.
New book in the Silverstone series with Carson and Skyler. Had been introduced to the crew from other books however didn't enjoy tale as much as I had hoped to.
Ebook from Netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day. With a bit if suspense.
I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.
I think the characters were well fleshed out and believable - I guess I struggled with some of the descriptions and the scenes that felt a bit too dramatic. I’d be willing to read more, but perhaps it’s just not my style.
Bull, Eagle, Smoke and Gramps are four members of Delta Force, an elite army unit. Best friends and bonded for life, they work together until mistakes are made in an operation, at which point they are told that they’ll be separated, until someone gives them an alternative option, that means they can stay together and keep doing the work that they love - ridding the world of evil-doers. One day, Bull meets Skylar and falls in love, but can she truly accept him for what and who he is?
This was a bit of a different choice for me, and in all honesty I wasn’t sure about it at first. Parts of it a bit cheesy and over dramatic, and it took me a while to get into it. I stuck with it til the end though, and it ended up being a decent read. I quite liked the characters and thought the plot was decent, with a few surprises along the way which I enjoyed. I would give the sequels a go if I happened across them, but I’m not sure I would go too far out of my way to find them. The series may be a grower, as if he interested to see how some of the other characters get on. Overall, a decent read once you get past the first couple of chapters!
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this first book in the series the relationship that forms for bull and skyler was great I look forward to reading more about the 4 friends and how their lives will turn out
. A wonderful start to a new series from Susan Stoker. Really enjoyed this, yeah sometimes it felt a bit cliche, big strong alpha male, little soft spoken heroine, but it was much more than that. The characters were well constructed and it is such a change to read a book where the main characters communicate and don’t rush into things. . Definitely recommend this just on that alone, but it’s a great story, full of drama too.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
Skyler sees the good in everyone or at least she tries. Except for the kids she teaches Skyler thinks her life is pretty boring. Until she meets Bull. Can she accept that not everyone is completely good?
Trusting Skyler is first in Susan Stoker’s Silverstone series. I really enjoyed meeting Skyler. She realized her privilege but tried really hard to move past it. I loved how she felt about her job and “her”kids. She was naive and knew it. I loved how Bull found Skyler’s passion and joy in living something he needed. I loved seeing him get an opportunity to see up close and personal just what he is fighting for. I loved that he learns to laugh again. I love seeing him and Skyler build a relationship. I love that Ms. Stoker allowed us to see Skyler’s strength within her innocence. This is a wonderful beginning to this new series by Ms. Stoker and I can’t wait to see where she will take us next.
Disclaimer - I received a free digital download of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I found ‘Trusting Skylar’ quite difficult to get in to, I think this came down more to not jelling with the authors writing style possibly as I found some descriptions and interactions to feel a little stilted and felt the story wasn’t developed in a way that I found drew me in. I did enjoy the general plot behind the story however.
Another great read by a talented author I really enjoyed reading it and will definitely read more and recommend reading it

M/F Romance
This is a great start to Stoker’s new military group. When things don’t go quite the way the Navy wants, they decide that Bull and his group are expendable. But with another option thrust in front of them, Bull and his men will decide on another course.
Skylar is an amazingly dedicated teacher. Her students may not come from the wealthiest families, but she does her very best to make sure that they start their school year out with every advantage. When she meets Bull due to her car acting up, she is pleasantly surprised.
Skylar and Bull form a relationship based on attraction, but also respect. I loved how Bull did small things for Skylar and her class.
Bull knows that his secret could ruin his chances with Skylar, but he believes in what he’s doing. Can Skylar accept those people in her life who might not be who she thought? And when someone with less than honorable intentions puts Skylar in danger, will Bull be able to help in time?
I am excited for this new series and can’t wait for more!
Triggers: Kidnapping
This is a great military romantic suspense. I really enjoyed the secondary characters. The main characters were harder to relate too. He was alpha and she was naive. I do want to read more of this series as I want the background on the secondary characters
An enjoyable read, all the ingredients of a good romantic suspense story. Great characters and good secondary characters make this an overall interesting and well balanced book. A perfect easy read in front of the fire on a cold winters afternoon. Look forward to the next instalment in the series.
I liked the beginning but once Bull and Skylar met I was frustrated how he treated her about her safety. It was over the top. His character never clicked with me. I gave up about 20% and skimmed. Everything felt preachy like a lecture about not judging a book by its cover (the Volvo, his building, her home, race/diversity, socioeconomics, etc.)
This book is one of suspense as the genre suggests. As with a number of Susan Stoker stories the focus is on military teams. This one features an ex Delta team that due to political reasons decided to leave the military and form their own black op group working for or with the FBI and Homeland Security, fronted by a tow truck business.
The 4 men Bull, Eagle, Smoke and Gramps are as close as family and run their outward facing business well keeping their extracurricular business on the downlow. They have discussed the potential of meeting a female and divulging their secrets to the ‘right’ woman.
Bull is the first to fall after feeling jaded returning from a mission and deciding to undertake a towing job he meets Skylar, a kindergarten teacher who sees the good in everyone. They fall fast but he isn’t sure how she will react to what he actually does.
When Skylar finds her life on the line Bull does everything he can to save her.
The story certainly features suspense however not to the same degree as others I have read by Susan Stoker. It kept me engaged in the story and is well written. I liked the characters and I’m looking forward to learning more as the series continues. There was slight repetition in outlining Skylars naivety and Bull believing he wasn’t good enough for her but other than that there are no negatives from me.
