Having read almost all of Susan Stoker's novels, I was excited to see the start of a new series. Once again, she has created a set of characters that immediately draw you into their lives and have you invested in whether or not they get their well deserves happily ever afters. In this latest series, four former Delta soldiers have had to readjust how they protect America from the evils of the world. I have to say one thing that I really liked about this series starter is that, Carson (Bull) meets Skylar under ordinary circumstances rather than most Stoker novels where the heroine is in trouble when she meets her rescuer. Don't worry, there is still plenty of room for suspense as our former Delta operatives can't avoid danger. If you enjoyed Stoker's Mountain Mercenaries or Ace Security Series, you will definitely love this series!

Skylar Reid is a sweet innocent kindergarten teacher hi goes above and beyond for the kids in her class.
“Run away with me, Miss Skylar. I can take much better care of you than this young whippersnapper can.”
Carson” Bull” Rhodes is former military Now his team goes after the bad guys under government black opps.
This is a super sweet slow burn love story. It’s a little different from Ms. Stokers other stores in there is some suspense towards the end but not as much thought it the book as usual. I’ve been waiting for this book since this team showed up in Rex’s book and it did not disappoint.

Wow, what a fantastic book, I was hooked from page one and devoured it in a day. Loved how quickly Carson “Bull” Rhodes falls for kindergarten teacher Skylar Reid. He seems so perfect for her, but what will happen when he tells his secret? Even with getting the bad guy’s point of view, I was still shocked at what happens. I didn’t expect to cry, loved being so emotional. Really loved their happy ever after and getting a glimpse of the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book.

I absolutely enjoyed this series starter to the Silverstone series! Bull and Skylar had an instant attraction but took the time to get to know one another. They fit together perfectly and neither could believe or trust how well they suited together. He thought only the secret about his reality is what was hanging over their heads, but unbeknownst to them, another danger lurked nearby. Great suspense, great chemistry, and a great story!

The author's new series starts with the end of Raven’s book from the Mountain Mercenaries. Returning from their mission to take out the man who had taken his friend's wife and kidnaped many others, he remembers back to his last mission with Delta and how they ended up leaving the Army. When they started Silverstone, he never thought it would have gotten so big but the towing service has grown which is a cover for their real job.
Once back he goes out on a run with one of the original trucks to help a stranded driver. Once there he goes into security mode on the woman but he is still coming down from the mission. Helping with her car getting towed to a shop to be repaired he also follows her home when the shop owner gives her a loaner car.
Skylar is really caseous in life and can’t believe that she is attracted to a man like Carson “Bull” Rhodes. As the story moves along you see the two of them have a connection but Bull is afraid when she finds out what they really do she will bolt. That is what happens but she has her own problems happening as well when she tries to stop someone from taking one of her students. She also gets a different look at real-life from her neighbor. Overall, I really liked this book and all of the characters including the back story. A very good first book to start a series with.

I really liked this book. It was refreshingly different. I like the special forces angle of the storyline and that a majority of the book was from the male perspective - but it wasn't raunchy and flooded with profanities like some are. It was a really heartfelt story. I really fell in love with all the characters, and I look forward to reading other books in the series.

Another great series start by Susan! I love how her stories are intertwined. Carson “Bull” believes in justice and when he meets Skylar he knows she’s the one for him. Together they figure out what justice really means and find their happy ending. Another 5 plus star book from one of the very best.

Carson/ Bull was in the Delta Force but he and his teammates were punished for killing a terrorist without permission. Carson and his friends are trying to decide what to do when a man comes up to them and offers them a proposition....work with the FBI and Homeland Security to take down the terrorists, sex traffickers, drug dealers. Now five years later the guys have built up their towing business, which is a front for the other one. Skylar is a kindergarten teacher and calls a towing company when her car breaks down. Carson comes to the rescue and he can tell there is something different about her. Carson hasn’t dated in a long time but he wants to go one a date with Skylar. Skylar agrees and the relationship takes off. But Carson is keeping a secret from Skylar and he’s afraid he’ll lose her when she finds out the truth about him. There is someone watching Skylar’s school and he plans to do harm.
Excellent book. Action and secrets. Carson is a hardcore badass but with a very big heart. Skylar only sees the good in people and is a little naive. But Skylar soothes the rough edges around Carson. I can’t wait to read the next one, it will be so good.

Wow! I haven't read one of Susan's books in awhile and I have to say, this one did not disappoint. It was her usual insta love, bit I loved Bull and Skylar's characters. They were both strong leads and the twists were surprising. I would recommend this book and can't wait until the next book!

I love the we are getting another team to fall in love with. I'm such a fan of Susan Stoker's heroes. Trusting Skylar was like an adorable love story with some serious and a bit of dark content. You wouldn't think that those two would go together, but I find that this author is really good at this kind of romance.
The adorable love story is more about how the heroine, Skylar is a kindergarten teacher who has somewhat of a charmed life and just sees the good in people. She goes above and beyond for her kids and while she has had brushes of not so good people, she still has some naivety to her.
The darker content of the story is the evil that our hero, Bull and his teammates see everyday with their secret job with the government. Bull takes one look at Skylar and he sees so much innocence and all he wants to do is preserve that in her but also open her eyes to the dangers of the world so that she will always be protected.
While Skylar and Bull's courtship was not always realistic, it was romantic and cute and a lot of what I like to see in a feel good love story. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

ARC received for review
Great start to this new series. We briefly hear about Silverstone Towing in Rex and Raven's HEA (Defending Raven). Silverstone goes in and takes care of the really bad guys. According to the military they took out one too many (which was not the case), and Silverstone was born. Carson meets Skylar when her car breaks down. He "yells" at her for being too trusting. He falls hard and fast, and so does she. She runs when she finds out his other job. Her neighbor helps, plus getting kidnapped by a bad guy does too.
The teaser for the next book...I'm betting it's going to be Eagle's
Note to author/publisher...in my ARC I think the first two paragraphs and completely unnecessary

Single kindergarten teacher needs help with her broken down car. Enter Bull, Co owner of a tow truck business. Romance begins but has obstacles in the way with Bulls second occupation causing major issues. Can Skylar and Bull overcome this problem? Route for them and look forward to hearing from the other characters in the story.

4.5 Stars
A new series! A new team, a new location, a great introduction to Silverstone. I jumped right into this and had planned to read a chapter or two. Next thing I know I have finished; I connected with the men and will enjoy watching each one fall in love.
“Bull” and Skylar are quite the pair, chemistry, and heat galore while both on opposite sides of the personality scale. I loved the first time they meet. He is former military with secrets, she is the sweet kindergarten teacher who loves all. Can he and his friends keep her safe, will the secrets ruin them? She is living life her way, will she give him her heart? There are also some additional characters I hope we get to know better in later books, Sandra and Tiana. Can not wait to see who is next.
Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the advanced copy for my voluntary review.

An enjoyable read that has been well structured and nicely written. I think the background of the guys running Silverstone is believable and it has all the ingredients needed for what I think is going to be an enjoyable series of four books - after all there are four guys to deal with!

Loved it!! Susan Stoker is a reliable author of military based romances with a good bit of suspense in the mix. This, the first of a new series is such a great story with some amazing new characters. I am so looking forward to reading the next in the series. Be warned - the epilogue is just a teaser for the next book and will suck you in. With thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love this author and the opportunity to get an early read is a privilege.
I'm really looking forward to discovering more about all the other characters in Silverstone Towing.
Bull and the team are more than truck drivers, their experiences with Delta has their services still in use. Mission Impossible music starts when I think of this team.
Bull and Skylar made a great couple, but can a relationship survive with secrets. When danger hits will both even survive to have their HEA.
I enjoyed Skylar's naivety and goodness, Bull's protectiveness and intensity, polar opposites they were great together.
Ms Stoker knows how to write sigh worthy heroes, I like to believe they're not all fictional.
Brilliant new series, I loved it.

It’s exciting when Susan Stoker creates a new series. The reader is introduced to new characters and a new locale. This new series continues in the vein of Stoker’s military books but it is a slight departure because the team is not currently in the military. This book is about Bull and Skylar who meet when Bull tows Skylar’s car with his tow company. Skylar leads a pretty sheltered life and Bull is and ex Delta Force solider who has seen more than any man wants to of the depraved world. Bull has a huge secret he needs to decide if he wants to share with Skylar. Skylar needs to decide if she can trust Bull with her heart.
This book laid the groundwork for the new series giving a lot of detail into how these four men came to be in their current circumstances. There was a very short danger for Skylar part that I have come to expect from Stoker.
I am looking forward to reading the next three stories.

This first book in the new series starts with a bang! A series about four elite Delta Force members whose team was about to be split after a mission but instead were offered an option and ended up leaving the Army and creating Silverstone. A business that was more than a towing service. One that assisted the FBI, and was in reality black ops.
This first book belongs to Carson/Bull Rhodes and kindergarten teacher, Skylar Reid. From the moment he meets her, he is smitten. But while she’s sunshine, he’s jaded and only a special woman will be able to accept him and his job.
The story was one that grasps your attention from the first sentence and one filled with complex characters.
It is also a thought provoking story. One in which reminds us that life is not black and white but rather shades of gray . This quote from the book was also thought provoking. “Judge people by how they treat you not what they look like, the color of their skins or their past.”
I do have to confess that I would reacted like Skylar when she found out what Bull’s profession was and I too had to dig deeply to accept it. Not an easy feat.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Montlake.

Carson “Bull” Rhodes is an alpha-male protector, a former Delta Force military man who was punished for being too good at what he does, ridding the world of evil. When offered a chance to be able to stay with his military friends and still fight the good fight, although in a non governmental approved way he jumps at the chance. Fast forward a few years and Silverstone Towing was born. These paramilitary men run a successful business but still search to rid the world of darkness. Bull feels jaded by the evilness that surrounds his “other” job until he meets a bright ray of sunshine when picking up Skylar for a tow job. Skylar is sweetly innocent, a kindergarten teacher (really) with an open heart. Her light helps beat back the dark in Bull. Their instant attraction leads to a whirlwind romance, but soon they have to deal with the harsh realities of life. This is the start of a new series of alpha male anti heroes, although those of you who are familiar with the author’s Mountain Men series might know these guys from their cameo in the last book, and boy does it start off well. Bull’s strong protective instincts hide a soft center and Skylar’s naive nature and the good she sees in all helps balance his roughness. This book had the perfect combination of sweetness, steaminess and laughter ( her students are adorable) with a great group of supporting characters and I can’t wait for the next one . 5 stars, must read. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review.

Great new series about four former military operatives who rid the world of the worst of humanity while fighting to protect the best part of their lives: the women they love.
Former military operative Carson “Bull” Rhodes has not had a serious relationship since he and his teammates left the army. They have been focused on Silverstone Towing—which is a front for the their real job: ridding the world of the worst of the worst. When kindergarten teacher Skylar Reid calls for help while stranded on the side of the interstate, Bull is instantly attracted to her. Because of this career Bull is not sure whether Skylar can handle the truth about his career.
Skylar has been burned in the past by her relationships and is cautious about falling for the tow truck driver. So when Bull finally reveals to her what he does for a living she is not sure if she can handle it. But with a very frank talk from her neighbor she begins to see things in a different light.
When Skylar's life is in jeopardy Bull and the Silverstone Team will do whatever it takes to save her at any cost.
