A ticking bomb in your doorstep! Eve Reilly is used to people disagreeing with her opinions, stirring up controversy with her radio talk show but she didn’t count on this. Brent Lange is the detective assigned to investigate the incident and he didn’t count on his emotional reaction to this opinionated redhead.
Good story, clearly setting up a series that will involve Eve’s two sisters. An enjoyable read.
Thank you Netgalley for the digital copy in exchange for my comments.

I have been a fan of Irene Hannon’s suspense novels for a long time. They follow a consistent pattern of strong characters solving complex cases. While I loved the suspense in this book, with misdirects, lots of perspectives from different characters to confuse the reader as to who was behind everything and a massive surprise when the bad guys were revealed, the book has a political undercurrent that comes through the characters’ actions and statements, as well as the positioning of other characters and events, which detracted from my enjoyment of the story.

Eve Reilly hosts a radio talk show where she shares and defends her controversial, conservative beliefs. But when a bomb is left on her doorstep, it seems someone wants her to stop talking. With the help of Police Detective Brent Lange, Eve decides she won’t back down as the police try to discover who is behind the threats, even as more threats emerge and grow increasingly menacing.

The romance between Eve and Brent evolves in Hannon’s usual style, with instant attraction and a growing connection between the characters as they work the case. Eve and Brent also have the opportunity to talk about their past relationships.

Eve doesn’t shy away from speaking about and defending her beliefs. Most of the controversial topics she speaks about on her radio show are not mentioned directly in the book, but from things she thinks, says and does the reader can gather that Eve strongly believes in the constitutional right to carry weapons, is against abortion, and is a strong Republican. The book also makes mentions of protests and violence started and carried out by antifa groups (but makes no mention of far-right groups causing violence or starting violent protests) and the book makes statements such as the following:

“Disputes about discrimination or race relations or anarchy or a dozen other lighting-rod issues could rip a community apart.” (not that discrimination and racial inequality are what rip apart communities).

“Thank God there were men and women who were willing to put their life on the line every day to keep citizens safe, despite the constraints and lawsuits and vilification that had become part of a career in law enforcement.” (and nothing about the effect of men and women who have committed atrocious acts in the name of law enforcement, or corruption or police violence.)

For some readers, I realise this will be a nice reflection of their own views, and for others it will be confronting.

The character perspectives are many in this book and they very quickly jump from character to character. It was sometimes hard to keep up, and I found myself rereading passages to figure out whose head I was in now. However, these multiple viewpoints gave the author many opportunities to provide false leads and multiple suspects, which increased the tension.

The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

As a reader it's definitely important to make your own judgements on characters, which is why I am giving this honest review of Eve Reilly who is the main protagonist of this novel. Her success is built on her controversial conservative opinions and she does not hide away from her own truth which is very admirable. However when she starts receiving threats to her home starting off with a bomb and then escalating further as it becomes clear that someone is out to silence her for good.

Hannon has talent in creating suspenseful chapters that do make you want to read on. However from a personal perspective I disliked the main character Eve and further disliked the fawning of detective Brent Lange who was assigned to work her case. I was drawn to the book for the mysterious thriller element, however I felt that the Christian subtext drowned out the excitement of mystery for me.

Thanks verbally for allowing me to read this book. I have read many of Irene Hannon's books and this one did not disappoint. Radio host Eve Reilly has been getting death threats. This book kept me hooked from the first page until the last one.

Radio talk show host Eve Reilly is used to backlash from her pot-stirring on-air commentary and interviews, but now it seems a disgruntled listener is resorting to more than angry words to express their displeasure. When a suspicious package arrives on her doorstep, Eve turns to law enforcement for help.

Police detective Brent Lange can't find any evidence to link the string of unsettling incidents that follows, but he's convinced they're connected. As the harassment grows more menacing, it becomes clear someone wants Eve's voice silenced--permanently.

But unless he can track down her foe, fast, the gutsy woman who is willing to take risks for what she believes--and who is swiftly winning his heart--may not survive.

This book could have been taken straight from todays headlines. It was a great book and kept me reading when I should have been doing other things. I recommend this book to all mystery/suspense readers.

I was given this book by Revell Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

I knew when I picked up this book it would be a great one, and boy, it sure didn't disappoint. Irene Hannon did it again, you really don't want to miss this one, it will keep you on the edge of your seat. It will also make you think that you are reading today's headlines, so current!
Who wants Eve dead? Well, you will think you know, but don't get two comfortable, the title will give you a hint, but even then I could not fantom all that happens here.
Beside the evil lurking, and surprises, yes big ones, there is the love of family. Sister's there for one another that will warm your heart and put a smile on your face.
There is also the beginnings of an attraction between the victim Eve and the detective Brent, but most of all these people show a great faith in God.
This is suspense at it's finest!
I received this book through Net Galley and LibraryThing and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

There are only a handful of authors on my must-read list, but Irene Hannon has earned her place among them. With Point of Danger, she launches a new romantic suspense series filled with such realistic characters and timely threats that its plot could easily be tomorrow’s headline. This page-turner had me losing sleep in the most wonderful way. Hannon never disappoints!

Irene Hannon presents a morning talk show host, Eve Reilly, whose job and life are being threatened from three very distinct directions. Detective Brent Lange will be responsible for following the clues. He has three problems - it is his first case as a newly hired detective and he is quickly falling for Eve and he does not handle relationships well.

The author has created a believable faith-based suspense novel. The context is current starring, among others, none other than the bane of the conservative movement, a group of antifas. The story moves quickly as the reader tracks the various villains found in the story. My only complaint was the transitions found in the middle of most chapters as the spotlight moves from protagonist to detective to antagonist to supporting characters. I found myself having to highlight these unexpected transitions as I tracked the story. I would hope these transitions might be better marked in the final text. In spite of this minor difficulty, I have no problem in giving this a five-star review.

Eve Reilly is a radio personality with a big following. She is an activist for conservative causes and has a large fan base but also have a crowd of people that detest her. When one of them leave a fake bomb on her porch and the police are called in to secure the neighborhood she meets detective Brent Lange who is the lead on her case. As more threats come in and Detective Lange works to find some clues that will help solve the case, Eve starts to fall for the detective and vice versa. This is a real whodunnit with surprising twists and turns. I read it in record time and pretty much didn’t put it down from beginning to end.

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Holy Cow! Why have I not been reading more of Irene Hannon?! This is the first of a new romantic suspense series and it features Eve Reilly. She is a conservative radio talk show host and someone isn't liking her views. The hero, Brent is a detective working his first offical case and is drawn to Eve from the start. This book has action with page turning suspense and sweet swoony romance with suspects galore. I enjoyed every single thrilling page.

Start with I enjoyed reading this book so much. The only negative comment about it has to do with editing. There is no break points to indicate a new topic or conversation within chapters. It goes from one sentence to another and all of the sudden you realize that it's completely different from the sentence before.
There are a few hot topics and today's media that coincide with what's happening in this book. I think it's a coincidence but it worked for me.

Hannon is one of the few authors I know who can write in two separate genres equally well. I'm excited for this new suspense series and I enjoyed the reference in the book to Hope Harbor.

The suspense starts right up when a ticking box is delivered to Eve Reilly, a controversial radio talk show host. Hannon does a masterful job of setting up multiple people with motive so you're never quite sure who's behind the dark deeds. I did feel that a couple of these simply vanished from the story when their part was done. It felt like there should have been a little more to bring real resolution to those characters and their part.

I always like series that revolve around different family members. Cate and Grace have interesting jobs and I will look forward to getting to know them more in the next books.

There's a lot of danger and a big twist. I enjoyed Brent and his buddies and their camaraderie. I appreciated that Eve and Brent were honest and didn't play mind games with each other. It was refreshing.

Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. I'd highly recommend it. All opinions are my own.

Fantastic series new series! The Triple Threat series features three sisters each with very different jobs and personalities. Eve, a radio personally with strong conservative opinions has someone out to kill her. A lot of the things going on in this novel focuses on the political atmosphere of today's world. It's refreshing to read about someone with such strong convictions. There is also a romantic touch, but not front and center of the story. The other two sisters are in and out of scenes but the teaser tells of another sister being featured in the next novel. Will be hard to wait for October 2021! Highly recommended!

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Just when you think you've read all the possible story lines, Irene Hannon comes up with a new twist. A radio talk show host is the main character with a bull's eye on her back. She's a strong woman with strong opinions and someone wants her silenced.. The intrigue is stepped up with each chapter. I almost gave up on the book when spousal abuse was introduced in a subplot. But that plot wasn't the focal point of the book, and he got what he deserved. The ending was well played out with plenty of resolution. I look forward to her next book, which is previewed at the end of this one.

This new romantic suspense from Irene Hannon is a winner! Eve is a strong, independent woman with unshakeable convictions, even when faced off against those who disagree with her. Brent is a detective who is excellent at his job, but doubts his heart will ever allow him to find a lasting, loving relationship. They’re thrown together when Eve’s livelihood, and perhaps her life, are threatened. The book has plenty of twists and turns, chemistry, and I found it hard to put down. Excellent! I look forward to the next book in the series!

I loved this book! Read it in two days. I love most Irene Hannon so i'm not too surprised but this was one of the better ones.
Eve Reily is a radio talk show host who is used to drawing controversy and has had her share of angry listeners. But now it appears a listener is out for revenge . A suspicious package arrives at Eves doorstep and law enforcement gets involved. Detective Brent Lange is put on the case and is worried this threat is more than just a package. While trying to find the culprit or culprits these two develop a connection that Eve hopes she will survive to explore.
I love how Hannon put a story that is extremely relevant to today's events and a relationship that isn't an easy breezy love story. It's realistic and relatable. The suspense is enough to keep you reading and guessing until the end. I am also excited that this is book one of a series! I'm assuming the other books will be about Eve's sisters and I can't wait to read their stories.
Thank you Netgalley for the advance copy of this book.

I have been an Irene Hannon fan since basically the beginning and I always look forward to her upcoming releases. Sadly though this one missed the mark a bit for me. Overall it was still a decent read, I just had a hard time with some things. A lot of it came down to just out of date terminology, phrasing, and references that didn’t mesh with the characters ages and a lot of over sharing of irrelevant details. And the political bent of everything was a bit much with the current state of things, I get it enough in the real world that I’d prefer not to have it in fiction.
The characters themselves weren’t unlikable but I wanted more from the romance and the “barriers” to them having a relationship didn’t really hold water.
There were also too many points of view and I kept hoping that by the end it would make sense why they were all there but it just didn’t. Honestly the whole “suspense” aspect was a bit all over the place and didn’t grip me at all.
So while this wasn’t my favorite I still think a lot of readers will enjoy it and if the plot sounds interesting to you, you should definitely check it out!

Eve Reilly hosts a popular radio talk show in St. Louis where she advocates for our constitution and American values when she is targeted by an unknown person. Assigned to the case is an attractive police detective who is working through relationship issues. The attraction is mutual as they try to keep Eve safe. Ideal for those who enjoy romantic suspense with a P G rating.

Point of Danger by Irene Hannon is a romantic suspense lover's dream. The heroine is put into danger right away and enters the adoring police officer who wants to help her out and figure out how to solve the mystery that is threatening the heroine without losing his heart first. In Hannon's latest novel, Point of Danger, she does definitely what she promises to her readers. It is thought out and full of romance. The mystery is okay. Not non-stop action where the reader holds her breathe as the characters rush against the clock. With Point of Danger, I really didn't figure out who the bad guy. But to be honest, there really is no clue leading toward this character anyway. When it was revealed, I shook my head in display because there was nothing pointing toward this character, so personally, I felt cheated. The romance seemed to be the main threat with a overarching threat, but it didn't seem to be the most important aspect of the novel. As for the timing of the novel, Hannon has included some political hotspots that are actually occurring in today's headlines. Overall, Point of Danger really didn't seem that suspenseful. But then again, this was just my opinion. Others may feel like this is the greatest romantic suspense novel ever. That is fine. That is what makes the world go round.

I received a complimentary copy of Point of Danger by Irene Hannon by Irene Hannon from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
