I really enjoyed reading and exploring The Universe is Your Search Engine. It opened my mind up to a new way of thinking. What impact do my thoughts have on my life? Can changing my thinking change my life? I'm still exploring these concepts and testing them in my own life. But I enjoyed the opportunity to explore some new concepts.
I so get it! Many of the author's thoughts are similar to belief systems I have had my entire life. I remember my family looking at me like I was crazy when I blurted out you can talk yourself in and out of just about anything. What I read is an understandable and expounding of ,'mind over matter' and a little more scientific version of Dr. Normal Vincent Peale's, "The Power of Positive Thinking" . Enjoyable read. Might be one to re-read and a slower pace.
I was provided an Advanced reader copy of the and was under no obligation to provide a review. The opinions expressed are my own.
Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
The Universe is Your Search Engine is an educational and insightful read on the correlation between science and the process of completing our goals with a positive outcome. This is a great guide that separates the book into three parts; one being the background and learning definitions, second part describing how everything you learned works with our thought process, and the final part is interactive where you take what you learned and use it in your life.
I love science and really enjoyed the breakdown of the topics. Anita gave a recap on matter, atoms, wavelengths, and everything necessary to fully understand how science works with our minds. It was so interesting to read about The Law of Attraction and how wavelengths can affect or explain certain feelings.
One of my favorite things that I learned is how being knowledgeable on the subject can help me look at being more willing to expect positive outcomes. It doesn't mean that they will always happen, but I think Anita's words will help me remember that every negative thought can be canceled out with every 5 positive thoughts.
I give The Universe is Your Seach Engine 4 stars. As a science nerd, I really enjoyed getting a refresher and it was super interesting to see how much of our daily lives are connected to science. I will be using Anita's tip of positive affirmations in my life to help me stay more positive and hopeful in fulfilling my everyday goals!
It was hard to read this book because I might be the target reader for this book. I have a deep science education. I also have a hard time connecting science to more spiritual ideas. This book does exactly that. I was drawn to the book for that reason but I don't think I can still connect and follow along. It might still work for others who don't have a hard time connecting science and spirituality. For this book to work for me, I would was less emphasis on science (because it is hard to justify scientific explanation without boring a large population), and more emphasis on the exercises part of the book (which I enjoyed)
I truly enjoyed reading "The Universe is your Search Engine". This is a great read for someone trying to understand how the Universe works and quantum physics.. I highly recommend this book. I tell my clients about it all the time
The Universe is your Search Engine will be a staple in my life toolbox. Reading rekindled for me the power of both my positive and negative thoughts. The explanation detail Ms. Scott uses to harness one’s thoughts/vibrations/future vision of goals, was most helpful and thought provoking. As a generally optimistic person, I hoped life’s events would fall into place for me but often wondered why so many eluded me and why my negative thoughts would take over at times. The Universe is your Search Engine has given me a greater understanding of why. I enjoyed reading, bookmarked pages to keep close at hand to help me on my future paths, it will remain as a continued reference tool in my life.
I feel this was a fresh understanding of the law of attraction and I liked the concept of 'Search Engine'. Easy to read and very interesting. The author explains complicated notions in a way that is easy to understand. It has given me a lot more to think about and I would highly recommend it.
I can't write a review of this book without mentioning “The Secret,” by Rhonda Byrne, which was the first book I read about the Law of Attraction and Manifesting. I have been re-reading that book for years until the spine broke and the pages fell out a couple of weeks ago and I need a new copy. Therefore, I wasn't really surprised when I got an e-mail offer from the publisher through NetGalley to review “The Universe is Your Search Engine” by Anita Scott.
The same concepts, terminology and research are discussed in both books, but I really appreciate having the new, fresh examples from the latter author.
I also really like the workbook exercises offered within the chapters and more fully discussed at the end of the book. I'm sure I'm not the only person who realizes the act of sitting down and writing has a way of taming “monkey thoughts” that jump all over the place. Writing things down makes them more focused and solid and ultimately “real” since my thoughts are tangible in black and white on a piece of paper I can hold in my hand—a constant, but gentle, reminder to where I should focus my thoughts.
At the end of the book is a free online 4-week challenge through the author's website. I haven't signed up for that yet, but definitely will since I enjoyed the book so much.
I have many friends who think this type of book is ridiculous. I had one friend who complimented me on one hand as a smart well-educated woman, yet threw in she can't believe I'm wasting my time with “this hippie, new age sh*t.”
Maybe manifesting the perfect life isn't easy, but I do think it's possible. And simply shifting my thoughts from what I don't want (for example, “No red lights! No red lights!” sounds negative and desperate) to what I DO want (“Green lights only!” sounds so much lighter) has made made my life, in general, more positive and I don't see how choosing to intentionally think positive thoughts can ever be a bad thing.
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone already aware of the power of Manifesting or anyone who is just learning of its power.
Wow, what a great, insightful read ! Anita Scott approaches this subject in an easy to understand way, including tons of scientific research and facts. The examples given of how to use the "universal search engine" were also easy to follow. A book i would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to understand how manifesting our desires works in the scope of the universe.
Definitely recommend this one for the year 2020! I really enjoyed it and learned a lot of new things. Such a good read.
I recommend this book to anyone interested in meditation and the law of attraction. This book gives a very good explanation of quantum physics and how the universe , in a way, always has our back. Easy to read and very interesting. The author explains complicated notions in a very accessible way.
I really liked the concept of 'Search Engine'. I have read a handful of books on Manifesting and how thoughts create our reality, This book is different from the ones I have read in the sense, Ms Scott has explained it scientifically.
Like how Google Search Engine matches our words and sends relevant answers, we have the universe's search engine which matches the frequency of our thoughts and sends the best matching response. How cool is that?
I recommend this book to all who are looking to bring about a change or two in their lives.
Excellent book, highly recommended.
Several books have come out recently on the Law of Attraction and science behind spiritual concepts. This is by far the best of these recently published books. The author combines science and deep wisdom to produce a book well worth reading for anyone interested in living a positive, meaningful, and abundant life. I particularly appreciated the chapter on grieving and moving on after a loss.
I found that many of the recommendations for personal improvement mirrored many of my spiritual beliefs and practices, affirming my meditative practices and helping connect them with new scientific research. While this book is by no means a "religious" book, I found it helpful and consistent with my progressive Christian beliefs and practices.
This book is a "keeper" for me - one I'll refer back to from time to time, revisiting important concepts.
A must read for a fresh understanding of the law of attraction. The text forces the reader to relate current concepts to the centuries old understanding of universal laws.
Highly recommended for those who really want to get a handle on the law of attraction without the fluff!
The Universe is Your Search Engine is a new age, metaphysical book with anecdotes, suggestions and exercises to assist readers in utilizing the law of attraction in his or her own life.
Anita Scott compares the law of attraction to a universal "search engine." What you put in, comes back to you kind of like Google for the mind.
"While the Universe's Search Engine delivers real-life experiences, it is not responsible for your quality of life. You are, because no one else can use your mind to think thoughts. You alone are the thinker of your mind, and it is your thoughts alone that trigger the search and the ensuing return of life experiences." loc 310, ebook
The book is divided into three sections: the first handles different aspects of the law of attraction from science to energy and quantum physics. The next part goes into metaphysics, the body, purpose and more. The third part is a workbook that ties the first two sections together and is also scattered throughout the text.
"Fighting against what is elongates suffering, makes an issue bigger, and squanders your valuable energy." loc 428, ebook
I've read quite a few books like this- new age materials that teach your thoughts create your reality. I was honestly surprised how much I enjoyed this version of the teaching.
The publisher sent me an email offering a free digital copy of this book through NetGalley, I didn't request it. And, I'm going to be blunt here, I was feeling rather unsure about it. I simply wasn't in the right head space to read and review a new age book. But then, I thought, why not give it a chance and I'm glad I did.
This year, 2020, has been the worst. Prior to this mega-disaster of a year, I would have described myself as someone who created her own reality sometimes successfully, other times not so much, but I felt like I always had at least a glimpse of where my life was going.
This year has changed all of that. Now, I'm not certain I create my reality at all.
Current angst aside, I liked The Universe is Your Search Engine. I liked the empowering messages it shares. I like the exercises that encourage readers to find their purpose, focus their thoughts and joyfully move into a future of their own design.
I'm just not sure I believe in it myself anymore. Maybe I'll get back there some day.
Recommended for readers and seekers who are looking for information on the law of attraction. Anita Scott has written a beautiful, modern book about it. Give it a shot and see if it's for you.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a free digital copy of this book.
This is.a gem of a book. Extremely easy to read, follow and understand. I have read many, many books on Law of Attraction and this has to be in my list of favourites. Will definitely be buying a copy when its published. There are exercises at the end of every chapter and this helps to understand the concept of what your reading and get you into the flow of manifesting and being a better version of you.
Highly recommended to all
Thank you Balboa and Netgalley.
What a great book/guide!
I've read many spiritual books about law of attraction but this one is really sistematic, with scientific and metaphysical approach, and with many applicative exercises at the end.
Just ask and universal search engine will answer. Here you'll find how to ask and your dreams will come true.
Brilliant book and must have on your book shelf!
I received an ARC from NetGalley, Anita M. Scott, and the Balboa Press for an honest review. This book made so much sense to me and I learned so much from it. I am older and I can see where my thoughts when I was young are happening today. It explains a lot of things I didn't understand. I have had a pretty good life and I have a lot of living and life left so I am going to put the work and effort required to live my best life. There are exercises to do which I loved doing because it helps reinforce important points. But it isn't a textbook, to me, it is a storybook only in a different format.
Once I read it, I want to practice what I learned and with the things going on today, there is no better time for this book to be published. I say when this is released, grab yourself a copy, and let us start living our best life with positive energy and positive thoughts with the help of this book. I am confident that life is going to get better and I am loving doing the things to make it happen.
