Mason and Alex. I have been jonesing for these 2 since Bran's book. Alex is the perfect foil for Mason. The outright missteps, confusion, chemistry and angst are entertaining. The backgrounds for both bring humor and angst. The story just keeps twisting, turning and creating more chaos around them. Dunkee's for the win!!!

I was very disappointed in this book. Strike one was I had to wait like 5 years for it to come out. Which means that I couldn’t really remember the previous books in the series and what had happened. And strike two was the main characters themselves. I hated the relationship between them. The heroine was in love with the hero but he was seeing some other woman throughout the whole book. Just no. I wanted to see the main couple grow closer throughout the book, but that didn’t happen. And not to mention the hero couldn’t make up his mind. Very disappointed in this book. It was one of my most anticipated books to read too.

Ride the tide is the first book in the series that I have read, but it’s definitely a stand alone. I wasn’t lost. In a nutshell, this book is funny at times, action-packed and full of suspense. These qualities are exactly how I love my romances!! Who wouldn’t love a hot ex-navy seal treasure hunter with a nerdy virgin!! I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the books in the series. I can see this author quickly moving to my automatic buy list.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to review this book!

If you’ve ever read a Julie Ann Walker book, you know what you’re getting - almost non-stop action, interrupted by witty conversation and sexually-laden dialogue and internal monologues that eventually culminate in hot sex and breathless action. Rinse and repeat.
While her characters are in tough and dangerous situations, they seem to also have plenty of time to think about sex and engage in sexual innuendo, and finally engage in hot sex while fighting for their lives.

This story, continuing her series about a group of retired Navy SEALs hunting for a sunken Spanish treasure ship off the coast of the Florida Keys is no different. Mason and Alex have been attracted to each other since they met, but Mason is convinced that he would be bad for the adorable Alex since he believes that he’s no longer suitable for a normal life after all he’s seen and done.

Add in an Iranian guy who seeks revenge on Mason and doesn’t mind killing off his friends including their female companions and the adventure is set. If you like alpha men and a bit of thrills thrown in with the romance, you’ll enjoy this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Alex is a nerd that is friends with with a retired SEAL team turned salvage dive operators. They are on a quest to find a treasure. Only this book has little to do with that ongoing quest, but more to do with Mason's past. There was action and adventure with a little romance thrown into the mix.

All in all, I would say it was okay. I wish I could have called it exceptional, but that wasn't my experience.

Former Seal Mason “Monet” McCarthy is one of six partners with Deep Six Salvage. He and his friends are taking a brief hiatus on searching for a particular sunken Spanish galleon. Mason intends to keep Alex Merriweather at arm’s length. However, the smart and infectious redhead has other plans. Mason’s past resurfaces, and it not only threatens his life but that of his friends, too. Will Mason be able to neutralize the threat against him and his teammates? Can he overcome his inner demons?
Alexandra “Alex” Merriweather is a historian. She is hired by the Deep Six Salvage for her expertise in old Spanish scripts. Alex plans to use her findings for her doctoral dissertation. She relentlessly pursues Mason. However, the big and broody former Seal refuses her proposition. Alex finally gets her desire after they are attacked by a new enemy. Can Alex help Mason come to terms with his past? Will she be able to out-smart their enemies?
Mason is such a delicious wounded-hero type. His problem is more psychological than physical. I adore Mason’s pastime. It is just something one does not picture for a big and bad Navy Seal. I like Mason’s natural protectiveness towards his friends. There is little he would not do to keep those he cares about safe from harm. What I love the most about Mason is his respect and admiration of Alex’s intelligence. Most men would find her intellect unappealing, yet Mason finds it attractive.
Alex is a heroine who is not only smart, but she also wears glasses. She is such a firecracker! I adore Alex’s infectious personality. She can easily hold her own around six testosterone-laden former Seals. I like Alex’s willingness to do research. When something catches her interest, she is not afraid to study up on it. What I like the most about Alex is how she never let Mason’s gruffy nature dissuade her pursuit. She understood that it was a coping and protection mechanism.
RIDE THE TIDE is book three in Julie Anne Walker’s romantic suspense series, THE DEEP SIX. I am so psyched the author has returned to this series. It is one of my favorites. The story can stand alone; however, to understand the Deep Six guys’ bonds, and why they became salvagers, it is necessary to read the prior books and novella.
RIDE THE TIDE is a thrilling return to a suspenseful and action-packed series. I do hope Wolf and Chrissy are next. I cannot wait for the next installation.

This is the first book in this series that I read. You can read this book as a stand alone. If you want more back story on all the people in this book then I would suggest reading from the beginning but it's not necessary to enjoy this book. Alex I have to say by far is one of my favorite characters. Her bold tell it like it is but in a sweet, nice, innocent way is such a fun character to read. I loved how she just told Mason how it was and pretty much put him in his place. Yes there are flaws in this book but on a whole I liked the book. The whole virginity thing was weird seeing how old Alex was but I think the author did a good job explaining how she was still a virgin at 27. I will continue to read this series.

*I received a free copy of this book from the author/NetGalley and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion*

I loved the book. Julie Ann Walker’s characters are very easy to fall in love with, and her stories keep the reader turning page after page. I loved Mason and Alex, but there were times I wanted to kick Mason in the butt. So if you like treasure hunting, men out for revenge, women who love their men, then this book is for you.

It’s been more than four years since the last Deep Six novel came out so Ride the Tide has to work a little harder than a third in series book normally would. And it’s mostly successful with that. As usual, there are great action scenes and strong found family vibes. I didn’t feel lost with respect to the series plot and the main couples from the previous books are both absent.

What I’m missing is the connection to Mason and Alex going in. I know from reading my review that their story is set up in book two, but I don’t remember it. And I kept feeling like I should. Walker’s usually good about setting up the next couple in her books. In fact, Wolf and Chrissy have a lot of page time in Ride the Tide and will presumably be the main characters in book four.

In short, Ride the Tide is everything I expect from a Julie Ann Walker book but I would have enjoyed it more if I’d reread the previous books first.

"Ride the Tide" by Julie Ann Walker was the first book I've read from this author. Although this book could be a stand alone, there are many references that happened in previous books that would give a better meaning to some circumstances. I am interested enough to find the previous books and read them.

I liked the characters Alex and Mason. He is a troubled ex-soldier who is dealing with some effects from the war and the emotional upheaval from an ex-wife. She is an inexperienced, intelligent woman who has set her sights on Mason. I enjoyed her characteristics. Especially as they contrasted with Mason.

There is a good balance of action that kept me interested and conflict between the two characters. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

Julie Ann Walker writes the best action/romance stories. Her new one “Ride The Tide” kept me on the edge of my seat. Someone is after the SEALS but no one knows why or who. And the romance made me remember young love. Mason and Alex are a part of a team looking for a ship wreaked many years ago. They are the kind of people anyone would like to have as a friend. I loved everything about this book – wonderful characters and excellent story. I can’t wait for the next one. Her books always are the best out there.

Julie Ann Walker does it again! She manages to expertly weave action, romance and a solid plot into a page turning adventure!

The third book (4th if you count the novella) In the Deep Six series is another well crafted book that will have you flipping pages as fast as you can read them. Mason and Alex's story is heartfelt and will give you all the feels, while the action packed story and plot will hold your interest throughout.

Okay -- I recognize now it is the theme of this series. . .everything happens in about 24 hours. I am not a fan.

Overall, I love the series and the characters. I've read most of the author's previous works. I struggle with this series because of the time lapse for each book. It just seems son unbelievable for everything to happen in such a short amount of time, most importantly the speed of the romantic relationship.

I loved both leads in this story. Alex is just adorkable! Her red hair, freckles, glasses, and demeanor make her endearing from the start. Mason -- just a wall of a man who thinks he doesn't deserve happiness based upon his past.

Ancillary characters are always a plus for me. Deep Six has so many great additions. Looking forward to see who gets their HEA next!

Alex and Masons story had me on edge from start to finish. It was action packed. I loved Alex- her wit, humor and some of her sayings had me laughing out loud throughout the book. She wants Mason and he wants her but he fights tooth and nail with his feelings. Their chemistry is off the charts. I cannot wait for Wolf’s book!!

This is Alexis And Masons story, it has plenty of action and also a lot of hot scenes between Mason and Alexis. This is part of a series but could be read as a stand alone.I look forward to the next book in the series. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

4 treasure hunting stars!!

First thing to know, is I did not read the first 2 books in this series. It some ways it was not an issue, in some ways I think it took away a little from the story for me.

The couple can easily be read as a stand alone. But considering the way we get Wolf and Chrissy's point of views in this book, I'm guessing that Mason and Alex were in the last book. So I was missing that relationship/character development that was most likely done there. With that being said, if I didn't know there was a previous books I wouldn't have missed them. This author does an incredible job at making you get to know the characters.

Alex was an incredible heroine, she was hilarious and basically said whatever popped into her head....

"If it's about my offer to let Mason smash my front door in," she continued, "forget it. Changed my mind. Not wasting my good book-and-butt years waiting for some guy" - she hooked at thumb towards Mason who was choking on his coffee- "to pull the stick out of his ass and realize he's making a mountain out of a molehill." - Alex

Mason is definitely damaged, by what he has seen and what his ex-wife did to him. While he has feelings for Alex, he is having one hell of an internal battle with himself. And honestly, I don't blame the guy one bit!! As you read it, you will totally get it too.

The side characters are hilarious, and I love the way they all interact together. There are so many awesome one-liners in this book that will keep you chuckling the entire time.

The treasure hunting aspect of this book was probably the only part that was a struggle for me, having not read the first 2 books there were parts I was missing, and that was sad since it was so interesting. I mean how cool would it be to be a treasure hunter!! The treasure hunt is what moves through all the books in this series, so when you skip a book, you miss parts of that storyline. Once again, it didn't take away from the book not having the back story of the treasure, but I definitely felt I wanted more. Which is obviously my own damn fault for not reading the first 2 before starting this one.

In all this was a solid suspense/military read with fun and hilarious characters. I'm definitely going to go back and read the first two in this series. And I can't wait for Wolf and Chrissy.

This books will be available in November 2020, so definitely make sure you read the first 2 before it is out, you won't regret it!

Thank you for Alex and Mason's story. Ride the Tide was a solid addition to this series. Walker still gives us strong male and female leads which makes these stories even better. Those of you vested in these characters will NOT be disappointed.

Alexandra Merriweather may be small and nerdy but she knows that she could take the big, bad, beautiful Mason McCarthy... If only he would take her up on her offer. Mason avoids everything about the tempting creature that is Alex - but she is definitely not taking the hint...

I have waited for two years for this book - and it was so worth it! I love Alex and her intrepid nature, history adorkableness and unapologetic interest in sex. (And despite her virginity being a storyline it is handled well and not a strange situation.) Mason is all strong, silent and broody hero - but with real issues that he has to deal with. (PTSD and gaslighting from his previous relationship.) And you want pining? We have pining! Mutual pining with distinct flavors to it. The chemistry is hot as heck as one would expect from Julie Ann Walker and a great set up for the next couple - which I really hope is Wolf and Chrissy!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The third in the Deep Six series the crew continue their search for the lost ship all the while having to fend off bad guys... this time Iranians ( and of course a rogue American).

Alexis finally gets her man (and Mason talks in more than grunts!)

Will be interesting to see who is next and when they finally find the treasure they have been hunting for so lomg

Mason McCarthy has seen the horrors of war and the toll it takes on those waging it—which he did for a long time as a Navy SEAL. When one of their SEAL brothers dies, they all make a pact to get out, and they form Deep Six Salvage, a company that hunts for sunken treasure in the seas. They are on the path of the shipwreck Santa Cristina, located somewhere off the coast of Key West, Florida, somewhere around Wayfarer Island. Unfortunately, there are some people after Mason and his friends, because of something that happened many years earlier. Because of this, Alexandria Merriweather and Chrissy Szareck are caught in the crossfire in a couple of different occasions, but they rise to the challenge each time. Alex is part of the crew because she was hired by them as their historian, and Chrissy helps them out with scuba diving charters that bring divers to their island to help search for the treasure.

The men behave like teenagers at times as a way of relieving stress, but when danger appears, they behave like a well-oiled machine. There are times when the tension is ratcheted up pretty high in this book, and there are other times when things meander along at a good pace. These characters each have issues, and that makes them more relatable. Mason was told that he wasn’t ‘normal’ by his ex-wife—who was cheating at the time—and he has believed it ever since. Alex had a bit of a strange childhood, but is now ready to live. There is something about Mason that calls to her, but he rejects her, because he doesn’t feel worthy of her goodness. Mason has a hard time communicating with others, and especially with Alex, because he cares about her, and he’s trying to be noble and save her from getting mixed up with him.

This book has action, adventure, witty banter, intriguing conversations, danger, death, and friendships that are worth reading about. This group of brothers has seen the worst that life can offer, yet they still harbor a tiny kernel of hope that they might find someone to love and accept them as they are—damaged, yet still capable, and worthy of peace and healing.

This reader rarely gives a book a 5-star rating because it has to have that elusive ‘little something extra,’ aka, ‘lagniappe,’ in order for that to occur. This book has it. Enjoy!
