I have really enjoyed this series, and this one was no exception! It didn't have as much of a 'treasure hunter' feel as the previous installment, but I suppose that helps each installment feel a little different. I really liked Mason and Alex from the previous one and was so happy for more of their journey! Alex is a really endearing heroine, and I love how genuine and transparent she is. I am also a sucker a stoic/grouchy hero, and I loved how Mason really valued her. There is lots of push and pull and build up for their romance, which I always appreciate. I loved seeing it come to fruition! As always, lots of suspense, action, and danger! I really loved the build up for Chrissy and Wolf and am looking forward to their story!
*I received an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

I was excited to read Julie Ann Walker’s latest Deep Six book. I knew she was going to write this one and it just seemed so darn long before I could read it. And Jule did not disappoint! Alexis was a small red headed ball of fire and she had set her sights on Mason. Mason who turned her down at every opportunity. His excuse was the oldest in the books, and even I’ve heard it before, they guys don’t want us to get hurt. Translates to they are afraid of feeling something towards, right girls?
I love their interactions both skirting around the issues, add in lots of suspense and action with even more romance going on, it was the perfect book for a lazy afternoon.

I love Julie Ann Walker as an author. She creates heroic characters with flaws and all. I fell in love with the idea of Mason and Alex during the first two Deep Six books so I was ecstatic to finally read their story. Who wouldn't giddily anticipate a book with a bookish heroine and a hunky ex Navy Seal? The two were different enough to create interesting back stories where opposites attract. I loved the push and pull between them.
The main draws for Julie Ann Walker books are the character development, fun dialogue, and action propelling the story along. This book fell slightly short of the last bit. I felt like action was very secondary in this book, which is why I rated this book three stars out of five. The book was more focused on Mason and Alex overcoming their inner demons and obstacles in order to be happy together.
I was rooting for them all the way, but I think Alex needed to make Mason work for it in more!

I am a fan of Julie Ann Walker’s Black Knights Inc. series and have read the other books in her Deep Six series. I greatly enjoyed this book and would count Ride the Tide as my favorite in the series so far. This is Alex and Mason’s story. Alex is the highly intelligent virgin historian and Mason is the damaged world weary ex-SEAL. In this book Mason’s past comes back to haunt them which adds some intrigue to the hot and cold relationship between Alex and Mason.
Alex is in love with Mason, but Mason thinks he is too damaged for Alex because he feels Alex deserves better. The only thing truly standing between Mason and Alex is Mason. Mason’s view of himself is so skewed from his PTSD and a previous divorce that he thinks he would ruin Alex’s life. The fact that he does not like to talk about anything, least of all his feelings, and you can see how this would be hard for the characters to work through.
This book takes you on an emotional roller coaster and throws in some great action sequences on top of it. I personally enjoy a book that makes me feel something. I enjoyed the dialogue between all of the characters and I love seeing the characters that I already know and love. My only issue with the book is throughout the book the author would phonetically spell words the way they would sound with a Boston accent. A few times is fine, but I personally found it irritating.
I was given an ARC by NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for a review with my honest opinion of the book.

This book was a most delightful adventure, romance to read at a time when escapism is most needed. The series is about of group of Navy Seal brothers who retire to become treasure hunters in Key West. This is the 3rd book in the series and with each book you come to know the Seals and their journeys to forgiveness and love, along with researching and uncovering the lost treasure of Santa Crista. Although you get bits and pieces of the stories for each of the Seals, this books focuses on mostly Mason and Alex's love story with some of Wolf's and Chrissy's. I absolutely love the characters created in this series. My favorite part is that most make appearances in each story and you get to know them as a group and as individuals, the good, the bad and the stupid funny. There were a few times I belly laughed out loud, times I held my breath, times I ground my teeth and times I sighed as I was lost in this story. Did I mention there's also a dog and a rooster! This was a great read, one I highly recommend. You don't need to read the previous books but it helps to solve the mystery hunt for treasure. Do yourself a favor and pick up the previous books, find a comfortable chair and lose yourselves in these stories so that when this book releases you will know all the back stories of these friends and be able to fall into the story, the mystery, the adventure, the love.

Ride the Tide was and action packed thrill ride. Mason and Alexis' book blew me away. When a person from Mason's past threatens everything, its up to him and his skill set to finally bring them down. Julie Ann Walker knocked this book out the park and I can't wait to read more.

Great book and series! I've only read this book and the prequel to this series and while I feel they should probably be read in order you definitely don't have to! This book had everything! It's filled with plenty of action, tons of suspense and is 🔥🔥🔥!! I'm definitely going back and reading the rest of the books that are out! I highly recommend this book and series!! It's well worth the read! Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

Julie Ann Walker is a guilty pleasure author for me - and this follows through as one of her standard/satisfying thriller-romances. I forgot how she pulls you in with the tease of the other romances...and I can't believe I'll have to wait god-knows how long for the Wolf/Chrissy romance, because I enjoyed those characters even more than the main characters. This was not my favorite by her, (I read all 12 of the Black Knights books) but I really appreciated how short the antagonist POVs were. In previous books I would just skip them but fortunately they were shorter and to the point, which I much prefer.

Another fantastic addition to this series. It was so worth the wait!! What a great group of characters - even though they are fictional, they feel so real. Loved everything about it and especially loved the tug between Alex and Mason and seeing him finally succumb to his feelings.
I really want to know what happens with Chrissy and Wolf and hope I don’t have to wait four years for their story.
If you haven’t read the Deep Six series, go get book one now so you are caught up when this one releases. In my opinion, this should not be read as a stand alone but should be read in order. You definitely need the backstory.
Thank you #netgalley and #sourcebookscasablanca for this eARC.

I’m about half way through reading this title. So far it lives up to the others in this series. I love this story so far and the interaction between the characters. I have read all of Julie Ann Walkers books and they are always exciting and the love stories are sweet and sexy. Mason and Alex are characters that come to life in this story. I recommend this book and her other books to anyone looking for another great authors.

OH GOD, this writer has the guy being from boston, and is being pretty good subtly spiking his conversation with bostonisms, references to Big Papi, Dunkins, etc etc, but I think maybe they should have done a LITTLE googling before using the term Jimmies to refer to condoms because wow, things were looking to be getting a little too kinky when he went to get the jimmies from the picnic basket.

Alex is a PhD historian helping a salvage crew locate a lost centuries-old Spanish treasure ship. Mason is a ex-SEAL and part of the salvage team. But bad guys are gunning for Mason and the team. Alex is in love with Mason but he can’t overcome the notion that his military service has changed him, he’ll never be normal and no one can love him. And then the bad guys stricke. Will Alex ever get through to Mason?
The novel’s humor and thrill gives Suzanne Brockmann a run for her money. It made me laugh out loud at times. It was an action packed thriller at times gripping and at times steamy and dreamy. The cast fo characters was deep and richly well drawn. The humor was quirky and engaging and the thrilling parts were gripping.
I would recommend this book to my patrons.

I LOVED this book. I love the writing and the characters. I think Alex is one of my new favorite characters. She is tough, goes after what she wants and is kinda nerdy at times. Loved it. Really enjoyed all the back and forth between her and Mason. No spoilers but it is a must read.

There were a number of grammatical & spelling errors, which I presume will be rectified with the final edit.
I enjoyed the story and, having reread the series prior to starting this one (due to the long time frame between this and book 2) found that it flowed nicely. The characters in focus were well rounded and had a good climb to "success". Presuming that Wolf & Chrissy will be next and I can't wait!

Thank you for letting me read Ride the Tide early. I haven't read a book by Julie Ann Walker in a while. He books take you on an amazing adventure. Alexis she knows just the right thing to say to Mason to get his attention. Danger lurks everywhere.

Romantic suspense - and ongoing treasure hunt - great personalities? Check, Check, and check! This is a very fun read with some great characters. I probably shouldn't have started with this one - and because of that I probably didn't appreciate the characters the way I could have - but I didn't need to read the other books to understand what was happening.
Mason is one of a group of retired navy seals working on finding a lost treasure in the Florida keys. This is definitely a case of finding a chosen family. These guys are closer than close and support each other through everything. Mason has been through a nasty divorce and has a lot of PTSD related baggage that he carries with him. Alex is young, cute, very very smart, and a virgin. She has offered up her virginity to Mason and he has declined to take her up on that offer.
That along with the developing relationship between anther of the SEALS (Wolf) and Chrissy is the running theme through out the book. Mason doesn't want to start anything with Alex because he doesn't feel good or clean enough for her. Alex doesn't care and says she is in it only for the sex. It is clear to everyone that they are both already deeply emotionally involved whether they want to be or not.
The book is very fast paced and the action is pretty great. If this were an action movie - I would totally see it in the theatre!
What kept this from being a four star read for me, though, was the overall treatment of Alex's virginity and her desire that Mason be the one to help her get rid of it. I totally got that she was in love with him and was pursuing him with everything she had in him. Unrequited love is a very common trope - and can be awesome, but this played out a little differently from the way the trope usually does. What I didn't like was the guilt trip Alex and their friends laid on Mason for saying no. Alex said she was offering up no-strings-attached sex to Mason. This was clearly not true - even if Alex kinda maybe thought it was. Mason knew it wasn't true - and didn't want to hurt her by being one and done. Even if he did have feelings for her - he didn't want a relationship. She (and their friends) really go pretty far down the rabbit hole towards making him feel awful about it. Obviously - he needed to be pushed to make a decision where both he and Alex could be happy - and maybe this was the only way for Mason to get there, but I feel like if the sexes had been reversed we might have felt differently about things.
Overall, it is a great story and I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.
I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

This is the third book in the Deep Six series. It can be read as a stand alone but events that happened in the second book are referenced frequently so it might be better to read the first two in the series before reading this one.
The Deep Six series is about a group of former Navy SEALs that have formed a salvage company and are looking for a sunken treasure. Ride the Tide is Mason and Alex's story.
I thought this book was an okay addition to the series. There seemed to be definite physical chemistry between Mason and Alex but I didn't get a sense of them really connecting as a couple. Alex is a twenty seven year old virgin who really wants Mason to be her first time and Mason having been badly scarred by his divorce keeps refusing, despite being attracted to Alex. It just seemed that Mason spent a lot of time denying his attraction and being generally clueless and condescending. Someone from Mason's past is also out for revenge so there is some suspense as well.
I found it annoying how many times the author had to describe how Mason spoke. I think saying he was from the Boston area and describing how he pronounced things once would have been enough for readers to get the sense of his accent.
This book did make me to read Wolf and Doc's stories so hopefully there are more books in the series.

An enjoyable read, with lots of action, featuring a tortured hero and a very special heroine, “Ride the Tide”, by Julie Ann Walker (Sourcebooks Casablanca), has some very funny and sweet moments between Mason and Alexis related to her issue and their simmering attraction.
It was fun to watch the tortured alpha trying to fight the attraction. I liked the big and grumpy hero and his candid admission of loving Alex despite all his fears. I also liked them as a couple, even if Alex’s issue felt overdrawn.
Suspense, interesting characters and a band of protective alpha males usual in this type of story makes this read entertaining, yet not any different from other romantic suspense books.

This was definitely a “one more chapter” read. When you’re reading, and you know you need to stop, because, well, life and all, and you keep telling yourself you’ll stop after one more chapter. Trouble was, this story and these characters completely drew me in and I did stop reading, but only after I had finished all the chapters!
Alex and Mason have a definite draw to each other, and Mason has been circling, Alex while she has offered herself up to him time and time again. His past makes him leery and he wants better for her than himself. She only wants him and can’t make him see otherwise. Until he caves and gives in. Of course, the bad guys have the worst timing and interfere not once but twice. Not an easy path for either of them, but the satisfaction of when everything finally comes together was great. The series is also being nicely set up for more adventure and excitement, and couples, and I can’t wait for more

Deep Six Salvage is back and better than ever! I loved Alex so much in this story because what you saw was what you got. She spoke her mind and was determined to go after what she wanted. The friendship between her and Doc was a great compliment to the story. Mason is a big, badass ex-SEAL and the man Alex sets her sights on. She has her work cut out for her.
The secondary story going on with Chrissy and Wolf was just as interesting. I hope that they get a book somewhere in this series. This was such an addicting read that I could not step away from it.
