This is a great bedtime read that will inspire young readers to imagine, even during bath time. Zunon's illustrations are creative and unique which perfectly fits the story. I would use this as a classroom read aloud to early elementary students & highly recommend for educators, parents, & librarians. Nikki Grimes and Elizabeth Zunon are a great team & together made an excellent picture book.

Bath time turns boisterous as a mom lovingly turns the ritual into an imaginative ocean adventure for a joyous child. With warm and textured artwork, primarily cut paper collage, this is a transportive bedtime story celebrating creativity and toddler zeal.

With simple text and bright pictures, a Mommy takes her toddler for a bath and adventure ensues as they let their imaginations run. Bonus points for the unnamed family being POCs - representation matters! - but there was just something about the pictures I didn’t care for (layered cut outs of different aspects of the pictures didn’t flow together or something). But all in all a fun little book for little ones - especially those with avid imaginations and a love of bathtime!

Nikki Grimes does it again with her gorgeous poetic language. Off to See the Sea tells the story of a young girl and her mom and their magical adventure in the tub. Kids will love the gorgeous illustrations, adults will love the language.

Off to See the Sea tells a story of a little girl utilizing her imagination during bath time. The story is full of her adventure as she dives into the sea of the tub.

The illustrations from this book are unique. They are also scrapbook-like. Every page is full of layers as the illustrator developed the images from different pieces.

Gorgeous collage illustrations perfectly compliment the poetry of Nikki Grimes that celebrates the daily routine of bath time. What can be frequently viewed as a simple, necessary, daily occurrence, becomes a magical adventure in the sea - bath time becomes a journey you won't want to miss (and likely wish bath time was this much fun at your home) in "Off to See the Sea" by Nikki Grimes.

A cute story of a mom giving her child a bath. They travel to an ocean of undiscovered adventures. Probably a good book for preschoolers.

Sometimes bath time rituals can be difficult for mom/dad and little one. This sweet picture book takes a sweet spin of bath time and makes it an adventure. Our children have legitimate fears of bath time and a little distraction is the key. I love the illustrations on these pages for several reasons. The family is supportive and is 3 dimensional. The adventures are in community. Community starts at home and in difficult times.

A special thank you to Sourcebooks Kids and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

A wonderfully imaginative story for bath time. My kids didn’t enjoy this as much as I’d hoped. We enjoyed the pictures and some of the story but it just wasn’t there for us. The illustrations really went along with the imaginative story. I would still recommend this to others who I think would enjoy it, it just honesty wasn’t for us.

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

Evening, bed-time routine. A child and their mother bonding over the simple task of self-care. The collage style illustrations and careful placement of words and pictures add a lot to the style of the story. Rhythmic, loving, and full of joy this is a perfect book to share with the little one in your life.

A much-needed addition to diverse board books, this is a sure hit from renowned author Nikki Grimes and Illustrator Elizabeth Zunon.

This is an adorable book about bath time and how even when kids don't like to take baths, we can make it fun for them with imaginations. I love the illustrations and how many different colors and patterns are used, like they're pieced together out of different materials.

An imaginative story about bath time, illustrated in a wonderful, whimsical, scrapbook style, this book is a delight. For those kids who are maybe resistant to bath time, this might just turn that time into an adventure.

This delightful book has gorgeous illustrations that are vibrant and colourful. They were created by using oil and acrylic paint with cut paper collage, markers and gel pens. The book is by Children's Literature Legacy Award-winning author Nikki Grimes and acclaimed illustrator Elizabeth Zunon. Together they have created a wondrous bath time adventure story that will tickle imaginations of kids everywhere.

The faucet morphs into a waterfall, the bathroom floor is a distant shore and toy boats sail the seven seas. Both mother and child take part in the adventure and after the little one has been scrubbed clean both dad and mom whisk the child off to bed to be read to sleep. The vibe of the book is happy and very family oriented. I highly recommend it.
