This has all the makings of a Hallmark romantic comedy, if you like that sort of thing. A writer with writer's block goes to Paris to get back on track. This is the fun light read you could probably devour on vacation or on the plane and then leave behind for other's to read.
This story gripped me from the very first pages. It was fun, sweet, and sometimes laugh out loud funny. It held my attention throughout and brought me joy. I absolutely loved the fact that it revolves around an "older" woman trying to live her life, finish her next book, and maybe, find love. I identified with Maggie easily, as we are the same age. Such a well-written book!
Love, love, love - Dee Ernst fan for life over here! Very fun, cute romance - highly highly highly recommend.
I received an advanced copy of this ebook from the publisher for a honest review. I enjoyed this author’s writing style. This book is well written and the characters are described well. This is a fast paced romance. I absolutely adore Maggie’s character. It is set in France. Would I recommend this book to anyone and everyone? I most definitely would. This book is in stores for $19.99 (USD).
Cute book, but I love any book centered book! Easy to read and entertaining! I love the Paris setting and really love having an older main character!
Loved the Paris setting! However, I didn’t love parts of the plot ~ I’d recommend skipping this and picking up the author’s newest release “Lucy Checks In” instead. It’s a much stronger story.
This book was adorable. I love anything set in Paris BUT pair it with writing/book themes and I’m in love. Not the most complex writing but it’s a great book for a lazy Saturday afternoon.
When Maggie Bliss, a forty-something writer goes to Paris, she hope to jumpstart her writing career. But Paris, after all, is the "city of love" and romance is in the air. And this isn't a metaphor. Maggie finds herself surrounded with two handsome men, her ex-husband who appears out of the blue, and a very hot Frenchman who lands in her apartment. If you love romcom and love second chances, this is the book for you!
With a lovely and charming insider version of Paris as the setting, this starts and ends strong. I enjoyed the romance focusing on middle aged individuals (or older!) who are in the later part of life, and their connections and experiences.
I got this book after reading the synopsis of imagined it would be a great read. I was a little bit disappointed as I found it to be very much middle of the road for me yes it was a good story but I felt there was just a little something more this book could have given.
This was a great read! I enjoy reading romantic comedies and this one did. It disappoint. I love when characters are real. Like you can actually relate with them and envision yourself being their friend. This is what you find in Maggie! I highly recommend this book!
Maggie Finds Her Muse is indeed charming and heartfelt, filled with humor and good fun. Finding love, confidence, and inspiration in all the best places (including Paris, of course), this is definitely the sort of easy-reading book that is a delight to recommend and easy to return to time and time again.
Maggie is a mature woman in Paris who has run into writers block.
While charming, romantic, and funny at times I found myself liking this book but not falling completely in love with it. I did appreciate the older characters versus the young adults we typically see but sometimes it felt that they might as well be those YA.
Just an okay read for me. The story dragged a little in places. Enjoyed the different Parisian foods and lifestyle.

Maggie Finds Her Muse by Dee Ernst is a charming and light-hearted novel that follows the story of Maggie Bliss, a 48-year-old writer who travels to Paris in hopes of finishing her manuscript. The city of love, Paris, is sure to inspire her, or so she thinks. However, Maggie's peace and quiet are soon disrupted by the arrival of her ex-husband and a handsome Frenchman who shows up in her bathtub.
The story is well-written and engaging, with vivid descriptions of Paris that will transport readers to the City of Lights. Dee Ernst's writing style is warm and witty, making the characters relatable and lovable. Readers will find themselves rooting for Maggie as she navigates the ups and downs of her life.
One of the things that make this novel stand out is the character development. Maggie is a relatable protagonist who is struggling to find her place in the world after a failed marriage and a stalled writing career. The other characters, including her ex-husband and the Frenchman, are well-developed and add depth to the story.
Overall, Maggie Finds Her Muse is a delightful read that will leave readers feeling inspired and uplifted. It's a perfect book for those looking for a feel-good story with a touch of romance and a lot of heart.
This book was such a delight. So many things were enjoyable for me - I loved the Paris setting, the main character being an author struggling to finish her book and an older and mature main character.
I wish there was a bit more of the romance - I feel like just as it got going to book ended.
Max was so cute. I loved the makeover scene - I felt like I could picture that scene in a movie (actually, this book would be great on screen!!)
Sweet and fun read that transports you to beautiful Paris.
"Maggie Finds Her Muse" by Dee Ernst is a charming and heartwarming story about a woman's journey to rediscover her passion and purpose in life. The main character, Maggie, is relatable and endearing, and her struggles to balance her personal and professional life make her story compelling. The writing is engaging and the pacing is just right, making it a quick and enjoyable read. While the plot may be predictable at times, the character development and emotional depth make up for it. Overall, "Maggie Finds Her Muse" is a delightful novel that is sure to leave readers feeling inspired and satisfied.
I liked this book. I loved the setting of Paris and I liked that the heroine was older than your usual romcom heroine. The romance was sweet and I liked the supporting characters. It's not one that will stick in my memory but I enjoyed reading it
This was a cute quick romance read. However, Maggie was a little bit too ditzy American stereotype for me in this book. I understand that was part of the story but by the middle I just really did not care if she found her muse or not, because I did not care about her or her books (for which the premise sounded not that great). The surrounding cast of characters is great though. Max, Solange, her daughter and her gay friends are fun and I could still hang out with them in Paris for a while. And really France is never a bad idea. This felt like the cringe moments in Emily Loves Paris.
Such a cute and heartfelt read. Love second chance type romance and characters that need t find thmeselves. Easy fast read, loved it!
