Great book. Very inclusive read. Really had some gray points that left me pondering and doing extra research to expand on. This was a articulate and enjoyable read. Thankyou for the opportunity to do so.
This is an adorable book about farm animals learning about nouns. I think this is a great way for kids to learn about nouns.
I recieved a digital copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Dudley and Friends is a series about a farm dog named Dudley and who goes to 'animal' school. There, alongside the other animals, he learns about the same subjects that we've been taught at school as kids. This is the second book in the series.
I found that the introducing subject which are nouns in this one is clearly explained to young readers/learners and it would be a great book to use in a classroom as a teacher or as a parent for your kids. It has wonderful and fun illustrations with lots of examples of nouns that could sparkle a 'discussion' in class or at home about which things are considered nouns without introducing rules, grammar or syntax.
Overall it's an easy book to go through and as I haven't read any other book about nouns that's addressed to young children, this would definitely be on top of my list.
Dudley and his animal friends are going to the first day of school. Miss Annabelle the llama has a special lesson for her animal students. Nouns! Together Dudley and his friends share what a noun is. It is a fun way to learn about nouns and what makes a noun a noun. The illustrations give you and your child plenty to discuss and share! Highly recommend.
A Special Thank You to Bluewater Publications and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
This story seemed very good to learn with children but it also helps you a lot to learn and improve your English! It was a quick, smooth and cute read
Oh, what a cute and educative little book, it shows how much fun learning can be, and how great school was. Dudley and his friends enjoyed their first day at school, learning all about nouns. Ms. Annabelle their teacher made their time in school a fun learning experience. I love the quirky illustrations, the colors are great and so are the characters.
Dudley and Friends is a series about a farm dog named Dudley who learns about some of the very same subjects children are taught in school. This is the second book in the Dudley and Friends series. In this book Dudley is returning to school after summer vacation.
The rhyming narration style of this book is perfect for new and even struggling young readers. It is a great book for teachers wanting to explain the concept of nouns to their young students.
Overall this book is super cute and easy to understand. While there are plenty of other picture books out there about nouns, I think this is definitely one of the best and easiest for young readers.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Dudley the dog is nervous about school but he shouldn't be because he does great. I'm not sure that the title matches the story though.
This is a very cute rhyming book about nouns. The illustrations are very sweet and this is great for kids! Highly recommend for a young learner just learning about sentence structure.
I read this great book with my daughter and we both loved it and enjoyed it very much. The story is about a dog called Dudley and his animal friends, who go to school and learn about nouns. The writing is very good and the illustrations are beautiful. My daughter loved the animals and the story, although she is still a bit young to understand what nouns mean, so it is a book that I will read a lot to her in the future, even when she is older, as it will help her understand how to remember the different types of nouns.
Thank you very much to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review.
What a cute book! The illustrations are adorable! I think my early elementary students will love this book!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced digital copy of this book!
A sweetly illustrated book that introduces the concept of nouns using animals in a school. As a former first grade teacher I think it would be great for a quick intro to common and proper nouns (instead of a basic noun intro), and then have students brainstorm more common and proper nouns (either from the book or in general) and make a chart!
This is the second book in the Dudley and Friends series. Not only does it shine a light on the properties of nouns it also expresses the excitement of Dudley, an adorable little dog, as he goes back to school after his summer holidays.
The simple illustrations enrich the text which is written in rhyme. I must note that the rhyming scheme seemed to struggle and didn't flow as well as it could have. I would not recommend the book for a snuggle-down bedtime story but placed in the hands of a classroom teacher or elementary school librarian it would be a perfect fit.
Introducing the concept of nouns to young readers through a fun story will help kids grasp the meanings and help them to remember what has been presented to them through the narration. It is an engaging way to tell kids about an otherwise dry ( but necessary-to-know ) subject. The first book in the series is "Friends Count".
A lovely idea for a book but I think targeting a very small market - ideal for those 5/6 year olds beginning to learn about nouns in a fun and appealing way. Great to share with a class or with your own children but not a story I could see being read over and over.
Adorable illustrations that captivate children's attention. The rhyming narration will help with the development of emergent literacy skills. I wouldn't recommend this as a bedtime story read, but it would be great for teachers or librarians wanting to explain the concept of nouns to young readers.
This book pulls double duty, being about both nouns and the first day of school.. This book has a lot of charm and the illustrations make it endearing. There are plenty of other picture books out there about nouns, but this one is pretty cute and is easy for young kids to understand.
I liked the illustrations and rhyme of this cute simple story. However I don't think it is aimed at any age group because children who are just starting school would not be learning about nouns. And those learning about nouns would not need to know about school as they would have already attended for a few years. I think the first bit of the story about starting school was cute. If the author had took that and ran with it and kept it as starting school book then it would have been great.
'Nouns' is a cute and educational children's picture book that introduces the topic of nouns. The wording is a little bit clunky at times, but the content is very informative. This would be a great book for children about 4-6 years old.
Thank you NetGalley and Bluewater Publications for providing this ARC.
The simple rhyme scheme makes this book a delightful read-aloud. The lesson about nouns covers both common and proper (and capitalization) in a way that just begs for more audience participation. The pictures are adorable in largely soft colors. It'd be a great addition to school, public, classroom, and home libraries!
I received this book on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!
The illustrations and the story of this picture-book is very nice, and I love the intention of making school seem less daunting. However, I feel like it tries too hard to create rhyme and work in prose. The lines/sentences are so long that even I am struggling to make them rhyme because there isn't a good flow from line to line. It would be better if it was not written this way, in my opinion.
