I hadn't initially realised that this book was part of a series about a family who inherit money and property from an uncle they never knew they had. This one is about Patricia (Paddy) who is trying to find direction in her life after retiring from modelling. Whilst figuring our her next steps she starts to run the family's Cornish properties and meets Hal, a former soldier. Sparks fly and misunderstandings abound but Hal and Paddy are meant to be together.
A great summer read with characters that you care about. It was great to see Paddy go from strength to strength but sometimes I got a bit frustrated at the miscommunication between Hal and Paddy. I look forward to reading more of this great series.
This is the second book in this series and was just as much fun at the first one.
The series is about five sisters who inherit titles/property/money from an uncle they never knew they had and how they start to settle into their new lives and figure out how to run the various properties they have inherited.
The eldest sister is Ari, who is the Countess (first book), and the rest inherit the titles of Ladies. This book is about Paddy, who is just retiring from modelling and trying to decide which way her life will go in now. Whilst figuring things out she takes over the running of properties the family own in Cornwall, and during this meets Hal. But various misunderstandings ensue keeping them apart, even though they are obviously meant to be together.
I really enjoyed this book and although it did seem a tiny bit disjointed at times and seemed to jump around a bit, I still really enjoyed reading it and wanted to keep reading to find out what happened in the end, even though you really knew they'd finally sort things out!
Liz Hurley is a fairly new author to me, this is the second in this series I've read, but I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the books about the other sisters. There are a few characters in this book that I'm hoping we hear more of in future books, maybe love interests for other sisters? A very easy-reading bit of escapist fun, loved it!
This book was alright, I was expecting so much more I was down by it. It’s cute and I loved Hal’s and Paddy’s relationship but I found it hard to get into I thought the plot was slow in so many places and the miscommunication between the both really put me off.
This book had such a delightful rom-com feel to it. I thought the characters were all very relatable. And I loved every minute of reading this book. I highly recommend it.
The characters are so believable that I yearn to belong to this family. This is the second story of this wonderful family.
This is Paddy’s story (Lady Patricia De Foix).
Her sisters are worried that Paddy wont be able to cope with overseeing another property the family have inherited in Cornwall. She is determined to prove to them that she’s not just a pretty face as her modelling career will have everyone believe.
Will she find true love with retired soldier Hal or will the Cornish dream turn into a nightmare?
I was not disappointed and could not put this book down.
Paddy is one of 5 sisters. Ari the oldest inherits 5 properties all over the country. Paddy goes to Cornwall to look after the property there as she wants to distance herself from her modelling career. She finds she loves the difference with countryside
I loved this book of sisterhood and romance. Things are a mess between Paddy and Hal. They just get messier and messier. It kind of feels like a very modern twist on an Austin novel. The Cornish coasts sounds amazing and I want to go there and share in the adventures.
This is the second in the series where Ari the eldest of 5 girls inherits several homes and estates. In this book, the youngest sister Paddy heads off to Cornwall to manage the estate and more so prove that she doesn't needed to be treated as the baby of the family anymore. It was far fetched fun and well written but not really for me.
A little slow to start but I ended up gripped and stayed up too late finishing it!
It's the first time reading this author and it seems this is the second in a series about the sisters (it's great as a standalone book too). I'm off to find the first book!
Thanks to Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. I really enjoyed this nice story, nice characters and just basically a feel good read.
I really enjoyed this book, when netgalley offered me the chance to review this book I took the chance to read the first book in the series.
We return again to the five Byrne sisters, Ari is now happily married and settling in to her new circumstances in Norfolk. Sister Paddy a retired model goes to look after the estate in Cornwall. How will she fit in and is this something she can do now she is no longer modelling.
I really loved the characters, however I really really hated Mandz and Bisnca.
I would thoroughly recommend this book and cant wait for the sequel, (Hopefully) Nick's story) and also to read what is happening with Paddy after this book ends.
The perfect summer read, whisking you away to Cornwall and Cockleshell Cottage. It follows the story of Paddy, one of the 4 Byrne sisters who have inherited titles, and how she comes to be living in Cornwall taking care of one of the family's estate. A fabulous romantic tale ensues when she meets Hal, and we witness the up and downs and misunderstandings of a new relationship.
The second story about 5 sisters from the East part of London to wealthy landowners. This one is about Paddy, who goes to check out the property in Cornwall. A good story, but at times I felt it could have been condensed a bit. Overall though, a fun and easy summer read, and one I highly recommend.
Was absolutely lovely to see the sisters again in a new book! Getting to know a little more about Paddy was an absolute delight! Cannot wait for the follow on!
I loved this book. Read in an afternoon. Loved the description of Cornwall, made you want to go in the sea. Paddy was a great person, I loved the model bits of the book. A great read. I really recommend it
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
Ever since the Byrne sisters – Ariana, Aster, Clem, Paddy and Nic – discovered they were heiresses to the vast Hiverton fortune, their lives have never been the same.
They have now left their poverty life in London behind.
They own an estate in Norfolk, a castle in Scotland and a picturesque village in Cornwall.
Paddy, the baby of the family despite her successful career as a model, decides to go to Tregisky on the beautiful Cornish coast, thinking it’s time for her to stand on her own two feet.
She’s settled in her new home of Cockleshell Cottage overlooking the wild surf with only the seals companions.
She meets retired soldier Hal, she’s smitten, he’s funny, considerate, and drop dead gorgeous, She finds him perfect in every way apart from one big thing – he’s engaged.
A misunderstanding brings the two together in ways they couldn’t have imagined, something that might just change each other’s lives.
Will Paddy fall in love someone other than the glorious blue skies of Cornwall?
Can’t wait for the next book.
A great summer read full of sisterly love, the beautiful Cornish coast and romance.
The five sisters have been brought up in poverty in London but when their grandfather dies they become heiresses to his estates in Norfolk, Scotland and Cornwall.
Paddy the youngest sister takes a break from her modelling career to go down to Cornwall where she meets Hal. There is instant chemistry between them but Hal is out of reach.
Can Paddy sort out the misunderstanding with the village people and come to terms with what’s happening in her private life or will she have to leave the Cornish coast for good
After the five Byrne sisters discovered they were heiresses, their lives changed forever. The youngest, Paddy, gives up her life as a model to settle into Cornwall in Cockleshell Cottage. She meets the perfect man, but it turns out Hal is already taken, engaged to be married. Isn’t that always the way? Will the beautiful scenery of Cornwall be enough to keep Paddy away from the catwalks of Paris? Who doesn’t dream of living in Cornwall? I know I do, so this story was a delicious treat in troubled times.
