I remember when I read Waking Hours , the first book in this trilogy, how much I loved it and couldn't put it down until I reached the end. So I was super excited about reading Darkness Rising, but it just wasn't great like the first one was.

The story was good, but there was just something about it that felt off and I didn't care for...not sure if it was the way the angels and demons were described, as I'm pretty sure they're close to the same way they were in the first book.

Even though this book wasn't as great as the first book it was still really good. I loved a good suspense and Darkness Rising was.

I loved the mystery of trying to figure out who you could trust and who you couldn't. I also loved learning who Abbie really was and why she knew so much about what was going on in the town.

I plan on reading Fatal Tide , the final book in the East Salem Trilogy, soon.

Recommended if you enjoy supernatural suspense.
