"How to They/Them" by Stuart Getty is a concise and accessible guide that navigates the intricacies of using they/them pronouns. Getty's straightforward approach makes this resource a helpful tool for those seeking a quick and informative understanding of gender-neutral language. While the content is clear and useful, the brevity of the guide may leave some readers wanting more in-depth exploration. Overall, a handy and approachable introduction to the use of they/them pronouns

Yes! Clear, straightforward, and easy to understand. Pronouns are something that many people find baffling, but this breaks it down for them in an easy to understand way. I imagine that someone would walk away from this book realizing that they/them pronouns are actually quite easy to use, and we use them in our everyday language already. I wish I could put this book into the hands of so many people who would benefit from it.

My only caveat is that some of the formatting was a bit wonky when reading the ebook on my phone. This is one of those books where I would prefer to have a hard copy, and if I were recommending it to someone, I would definitely mention that.

This book is a solid instruction manual on how to understand gender fluidity, common terms, and how to navigate many terms and situations people may have questions about. The illustrations and simple, straightforward writing make the book easily accessible to readers, and provide enough gentle humor and creativity to keep readers interested. Highly recommended to all readers.

A super informational and compact book all about gender identity!

When trying to do research online and on my own, I've found it to be a little confusing to understand so many different terms. Stuart really was able to break it down in a concise way though and the additional illustrations definitely helped further my understanding. The overall approach of this book came from such a positive and loving place and acknowledged that we're bound to mess up as we continue to learn, but that shouldn't stop anyone from doing the work.

My only critique is that I wish this could've been longer and included a bit more information at some points so I didn't have to simultaneously google things.

This book left me contemplating my own identity and thinking of what next steps I can take to make others feel more comfortable.

I wish we had something like this in my country. In Argentina, we're having a very important moment in time about how to change our language and a book like this It would do the things so much easier.
I hope that someday anybody can feel safe to be who want to be.
This book is an incredible opportunity to learn how to respect others and to educate about a really important topic.

Great small graphic novel educating on how they/ them pronouns work, easy to read and would highly recommend! As a medical professional it was a great resource to have as patients feeling respected and safe in the medical space is so important.

Very cool, very quick guide to they/them pronouns and much more - gender identity, nonconformity, nonbinary, etc.

A little history, some pop culture, personal anecdotes and a fun, free-flowing artistic style, makes this an excellent read.

This was a fantastic book that explained topics that are very complex in a way that didn't come across as snobbish or condescending. I found this a very helpful book that explained things in a way that my brain could process, rather than it being a lot of heavy text that takes more energy to break down and understand than it does to actually read! I would recommend this to anybody regardless of how intimate you are with the topic.

This was a great, easy to understand guide for people of all ages. I liked the history portion of pronouns and third gender identities outside of Western cultures. I appreciated the note about intersex people and all the different chromosomes that people can have. The distinction between NB (non-Black) and envy was also good to see. It was good to see asexual, and the alternatives to gendered language in greetings was nice too.

Thank you Stuart Getty for writing this book! This explains pretty much everything a person needs to know about they/them and other pronouns, in a friendly way that never makes the reader feel dumb, guilty, or like they're a bad person if they make a mistake. As I've just shown, we already use a single "they" pronoun in English (the book is geared specifically toward English speakers; many languages already have non-gendered pronouns), so it really isn't as difficult to take that extra step as you think! Is it hard to remember? Maybe, but it'll get easier the more you practice. Will you screw up? Very likely; just correct yourself and move on. It's that easy! Seriously, y'all, if you're wondering what to do, if you have questions, just get this book. It's super helpful, and you'll be a better person for it!

When I saw this book offered up on Netgalley, I knew I needed to read it. I'm always looking for ways to become a better ally, so I jumped at the chance to read it.

How to They/Them is written by Stewart Getty, and they did a great job at giving a visual on how to use the singular they/them. I didn't learn many new things, but I appreciated the humor they injected into the book. I also liked that there were a few ways to help allies become better.

The graphics were well designed & I loved the splash of humor. I think this is an essential book for everyone to pick up. We all need to do better & reading books like this help.

Stuart Getty has written such an informative and witty book. I think anyone (child, teen, adult) could pick this book up and honestly understand How to They/Them. I felt that they were able to show their humour and vulnerabilities while being straight forward and honest. This should be one of those books that is passed around til everyone has at the very least a basic understanding about pronouns, gender, sex and sexuality.

A super fun primer to use the gender-neutral pronoun! I think this would be useful to teachers, parents, as well as anybody in today's working world. Super important to remain informed and give people respect and room to live, and knowing how to talk about pronouns could help our society as a whole :)

This feels like a book to be shared - between people who are trans/non-binary, and their family and friends who aren't, but want to learn more. It's a starting point for people to learn and have conversations. The ebook formatting is not that great, but I can see this being a useful reference for classrooms, youth LGBT groups, and so on.

Loved this. A great how-to with a lot of heart. A great addition to an adult or YA nonfiction library collection.

An excellent and quirky introduction to pronouns. Reading this on a kindle meant some of the visual appeal was lost, but this is definitely a book I would purchase.

What a perfect guide to pronouns! I'll definitely be recommending this one to everyone, especially those who claim gender neutral pronouns are too difficult to wrap their heads around.
