I wish I had read the other books in this series, I think it is difficult to just jump into a series,and that is my fault.The book started out well enough, but then not much seemed to happen for ages.I found the book to be quite slow,but I am an impatient reader.Other more patient people may enjoy it more.I think it is well written just wasn't hitting the spot for me.

Jane Isaac always delivers a fantastic read. In her latest, Hush Little Baby, she gifts us with an outstanding, heartbreaking, emotional , suspenseful crime procedural. I was captivated within the first chapter, I tried to pace myself because I did not want the story to be over. I was swept up in the story, I felt if I was dropped down into the middle of it, I want to work with Beth Champlain and her team. Now to sit and wait for the next installment of the book, looking forward to questions that need to be answered.

The corpse of a baby is discovered on a building site and Beth is appointed to liaise with the family who lost their baby 15 years ago. This was a fast-paced read, but strangely ant-climactic in many ways. There is a mystery about the parentage of the dead baby, but that thread sort of fizzles out. Hours are spent searching for a missing family member, and then that thread is abandoned. The facts surrounding the baby's disappearance and death (which are ultimately uncovered when the person responsible spontaneously confesses) are just not that interesting in the end.

This takes you to 80% of the book and then an entirely different story gets going, which only really makes sense if you have read the previous instalment. Not the best in this series.

This is book 3 in the DC Beth Chamberlain series and fans of the earlier books will love this one. While I wouldn’t advise it, anyone new to the Beth books would find this works as a standalone. If I have any complaint about this series it’s that you get so drawn into the stories you read quicker and quicker and then you are done, usually within a day. The last few chapters of this one were nail bitingly tense. I really enjoy Jane Isaac’s style of writing and she is able to tackle some dark topics and still keep it palatable for the reader. I hope there will be further books in the series as in some ways it feels like we are just getting started. Highly recommended.

Well written, enjoyable book. Two storyline lines converge in this mystery/thriller with an unexpected resolution of the story.

This is a very decent crime thriller and another great book from this series.
There’s plenty of twists that kept me entertained throughout.
I’d recommend to anyone who likes this genre of book or author.

Anyway, this was an average read for me. I originally thought it was a kidnapping story and thought the baby was found. I quickly found out that wasn't true. There was some good suspense, but other places I saw myself skimming through.

Hush Little Baby by Jane Isaac reunites the reader with Family Liaison Officer DC Beth Chamberlain, and presents a case that is both intriguing and suspenseful. I received an ARC of this title only this morning, and could not put it down until I had turned the final page.

As an infant, Alicia Owens was abducted outside of a supermarket while in the care of her mother. Fifteen years later, the body of a child is found at a construction site encased in concrete, and the focus of investigators immediately turns to the unsolved case of a stolen baby so many years before. Alicia's mother, Marie, is once again questioned, and the revelations that come to light will shock Beth and her team to the core. Will Alicia's abductor finally be revealed?

This is a fully absorbing read that pulled me in from the word go. I am anxious to see what the future has in store for DC Beth Chamberlain.
