What a fun book! I loved reading all of these cocktail concoctions that only took 3 ingredients each, so none was over the top and too complicated for a home bar tender. I appreciated the intro and the list of tool suggested for your home bar, in a rebuilding phase, I appreciated this shopping list to make sure my home bar was stocked on tools and the basic liquors.

This is a book that I plan on buying a few copies, one for my own library in my dining room and to give as gifts.

It took me forever to get to this book, but I'm glad I finally did. It's got lots of great, easy cocktails. I've already made a Sunrise Margarita and have plans to make other drinks from this book.

I didn't realize just how many drinks you can make with just three ingredients. The recipes are simple so I actually used them. The drinks that I did make from the book were delicious and well-received. Love the pictures and easy to follow instructions too.

This book is perfect for anyone who loves to entertain or experiment with cocktails.

This book is alright. The drinks are ok however with so few ingredients they will never taste quite right.

Interesting list of cocktails in their most simplified form - didn’t realize you could make so many different drinks with just 3 ingredients.

This is exactly my kind of cocktail book: the recipes are simple, but the results are top notch. I've learned a few new tricks, and have added a couple of cocktails to my repertoire for parties (and relaxing on the patio).

Nice little book to help you make a few good (strong) cocktails without purchasing the whole liquor store. These are mostly basic cocktails for a novice home bartender. Great pictures and instructions to make entertaining easy!

Anyone who wants to make cocktails at home should have this book. It's an easy-to-use compilation of cocktail recipes, each with just 3 ingredients (not including garnishes). Instructions are clear, along with a helpful introductory section that educates the novice bartender. Included with each recipe is a short tidbit about the history of that drink. Recipes are organized based on the main spirit within each, and there's a nice box within each chapter that gives history and other information about that spirit. A very interesting read, as well as great recipes that even a novice can make!

This book is great! It has very simple recipes for cocktails, which was exactly what I was looking for this summer! It is organized by alcohol type and then gives tips to make the cocktail. Very good book! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book is a must have! My husband has his own drink collection including some rare ones. I got this book for him and I can't wait to try some of these recipes! This book is so colorful and fun! I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

The book starts with a chapter on bar tools and equipment and one with info on the various components of a cocktail. Then the 75 cocktail recipes are organized in chapters by the main type of alcohol: whiskey, gin, vodka, rum, tequila and mezcal, and "bonus" (these didn't fit in another chapter). Info on the origins of the spirits are included. Each recipe has drawings of the three ingredients, and there are a handful of photos of finished drinks throughout the book. The "three ingredients" excludes anything the author counted as a garnish, so many of the recipes have one or more additional items. The instructions are straightforward, and recipes included covered well know drinks and some I'd never heard of. Overall, a very good cocktail book.

5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I love this book!!! So far I’ve only tried 3 drinks (Ti’ Punch, Sea Breeze and Sunrise Margarita) ...they were all delicious!!! I can’t wait to try more. I love the way the chapters are written and sectioned off by the main liquor used. I highly recommend this book especially if you like to entertain and want different drink ideas.

Thank you to NetGalley and Callisto Media for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Essential 3-Ingredient Cocktails is a mixology reference with recipes curated by Amy Traynor. Due out 9th June 2020 Callisto on their Rockridge Press imprint, it's 242 pages and available in paperback and ebook formats (ebook available now). It's worth noting that the ebook format has a handy interactive table of contents as well as interactive links. I've really become enamored of ebooks with interactive formats lately. For Kindle Unlimited subscribers, this book is currently included in the KU subscription library to borrow and read for free.

This is a really solid bar book full of traditional and updated recipes. The recipes are arranged thematically, by main alcoholic ingredient. It also includes an introduction with general directions along with lists of useful bar equipment and relevant discussions on subjects as diverse as ice quality and choosing quality citrus.

Each of the recipes includes an introductory description (and often interesting history), ingredients (US measurements only, no metric equivalents), and step by step instructions. Variations and alternatives are provided at the end of the recipes. Additional historical notes are scattered throughout in text. The recipes as stated in the title, contain three main ingredients, so they're not intimidating to create (and don't cost a fortune in weird ingredients readers will never use up).

Most of the ingredients should be available at any well stocked grocery/liquor store although some might need to be sourced at specialists.

Cocktails are such a civilized interlude and this book includes a solid cross section of 75 (new and old) to build mixology skills and impress one's friends at the next gathering.

Five stars.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

This book was a fun and interesting read to learn more about making cocktails! The beginning describes all the tools and glasses needed. I wish the tools sections had pictures of each tool to reference. The recipes were delicious and very easy to follow: I'm excited to try some of these!

Thanks to Callisto Media/Rockridge Press & NetGalley!
