What an amazing series that literally takes you to the shores of Goddess Isles! Sully, Jinx, Skittles and Pika have capture this topical storm of good, evil, empathy, compassion and love!
This series has come to an end and it is beyond phenomenal!
Sublime, sensuous and suspenseful, this installment surpassed all my expectations.
Sully and Eleanor’s passionate story comes to an end but not without more unexpected heart wrenching surprises and twists.
Theirs is a profound emotionally charged and moving story that left me with the best book hangover.
Despite the darkness that surrounded them, there was a light at the end of that long tunnel!
When I first heard about the Goddess Isles, I had a gut feeling it was going to be amazing. But my expectations were blown away with just how incredible and consuming this series became. I was equal parts excited and sad because this would be the finale and I didn't want to let Sully go.
The title of the story is perfect. Sully is a vengeful god... He becomes fury personified and who could blame him? Drake is trying to take everything that Sully has created and wants to exploit it. Sully is gearing up for a battle royale and he seems to be getting ready to take down Drake no matter the cost. It made me fearful because how much more could Sully's body take after the last book? Eleanor... this woman. I hope to have even a small spoonful of her strength, courage and determination. She is a remarkable woman and truly a goddess in her grace and poise. The story took me through many ups and downs. Blood was pounding in my ears, my heart was beating faster and faster with each page and I was biting my nails to stop from screaming out loud. I was pulled in so many directions I was sure that I would be rocking in a corner in tears. And yes there were tears for a number of reasons. It was an unexpected plot but I loved it all. The story was incredible and I miss the characters already. Truly a fantastic series with twists, turns and with messages of destined love, the ability to remake oneself if one chooses because a person wants to be better and fighting for what you want.
FIFTH A FURY is the fifth and final instalment in Pepper Winters’ contemporary, adult GODDESS ISLES dark, erotic romance series focusing on thirty-three year old, billionaire Sullivan Sinclair, and his captive Eleanor ‘Jinx’ Grace. The GODDESS ISLES series is set in the same world as the author’s MONSTERS IN THE DARK and the INDEBTED series. FIFTH A FURY should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book four FOURTH A LIE
WARNING: Due to the graphic violence and dark content, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.
SOME BACKGROUND: At twenty-one years old, Eleanor Grace was kidnapped, violated and drugged on her way to becoming a sexual slave. A prisoner in a gilded cage, Eleanor, along with several other girls, are either the willing sexual partner in a fantasy island paradise, or find themselves forced into a lifetime of suffering and pain. Purchased by billionaire Sullivan Sinclair, Eleanor is defiant to the end but a defiance that will come with a price. Four years a slave, Eleanor is about to discover that all is not well on the island paradise or with the man who now dominates and governs every aspect of her life.
If you have not read the first four instalments, there may be some spoilers in my review.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Eleanor and Sully) FIFTH A FURY picks up immediately after the cliff hanger and events of book four wherein Eleanor Grace, now a prisoner of Sully’s past, has been forced off the island that has become her home. Having let down his guard, Sullivan Sinclair’s life will spiral out of control, losing the woman he loves to a monster whose evil and pathological predilections threaten the stability of the islands, the people, and any chance at a happily ever after. As Sully battles for his life, Eleanor will take control of the man that she loves, and the protection of everything that matters in the end.
FIFTH A FURY is a dark story of brutal savagery, vengeance, betrayal and love; a twisted struggle for power between two brothers who have spent a lifetime battling one another for control, and now Eleanor Grace is the ultimate prize. FIFTH A FURY is dramatic, intense and heart stopping; emotional and theatrical; sensual, revealing and ultimately satisfying. Pepper Winters writes decadently dark stories of obsession and love.

I really enjoyed the first part of the book, it was exciting and I was never sure what exactly would happen and how it would go down but that part ended a little too quickly for my liking. The bad guy was defeated kind of fast, at least in my opinion and I'm sad to say that after that it wasn't that much of an thrilling book anymore. I still enjoyed reading it, of course since it's a book by Pepper Winters but I also can't say that it totally gripped me.
I've said it before in a previous review but three star books are so hard to review and I feel like that again. So I'll talk about some of the things I did love in this book. The characters, for one, were amazing. I still love Eleanor and Sully so damn much. Their chemistry definitely wasn't any less this time around and espcially Eleanor was so badass in this last book. I also enjoyed reading about Jess and Cal's budding relationship. I would love to read a book about them.
And then there was the writing. Pepper Winters has one of the most unique writing styles ever and I can't help but love it. She has such a way with words. There even was a chapter without any words at all. Just let that sink in. Anyways, the writing was equally amazing in Fifth a Fury and I couldn't get enough of that.
Overall, Fifth a Fury was a good ending that I for sure liked but it wasn't my favorite of the series, to be completely honest. I just felt like wanting... more. I'm sure every reader knows this feeling with at least a couple of books. And with this one I had more of a plot dislike than anything else. The characters and writing was amazing as always. I just wasn't as hooked by the story in general anymore.
This series was a delight.... a dark, sinful, maddening, wildly addictive delight. I'm a complete and utter mess after all and everything, thanks Pepper, you goddess, you. I can't recommend this series enough. OMG, SIMPLY A MUST READ.
Fifth a Fury was the perfect ending to this series. Pepper's writing was truly magical.
"Black magic.
Dark magic.
A magic that would extract its payment in souls."
Through out all 4 other books, Pepper Winters has put Sully and Eleanor through so many self discovery trials, growth was mandatory, and it was no different with book 5. Sully and Eleanor struggle, and hurt and make ultimate sacrifices for one enough untill the end result is either perfection, or downward spirals into monstrous territory.
"Began like a thunderstorm. Black clouds. Rumbling thunder. Wind and rain and lightning bolts. And it ended as a hurricane"
Book 5 was a rollercoaster, so many times you believed it would end on a high note just to realize the fall had already started.
"I was no longer voyeur to a man who’d lost everything. I was that man who’d lost everything"
Fifth A Fury was a great way to conclude Sully and Eleanor's story. These two continue fighting obstacles and for their love and to be together. Their road to happiness wasn't an easy one. It was torture, but there is a happy ending. There were times that I wanted to skip to the end to see them happy. Eleanor is strong, fierce heroine. She doesn't give up on Sully even when there is little hope. And there was a sliver of it in this installment. Eleanor saved Sully in more ways than one.
I felt some places it dragged a little bit. I would've liked it if it was paced slightly faster. Drake was handle in a matter too quickly for my taste. I thought it was going to take more than what took. Also I wanted to see a interaction happening between two characters. At first I thought it was heading that direction, but it went in to another. Regardless, I wasn't disappointed with the ending.
This series has been a ride, well more like a roller-coaster. It's dark, erotic, suspenseful, and intense. I loved the couple and growth. Sully became a favorite anti-hero of mine. I didn't like him much in the beginning, but fell for him with each book. I freaking loved Pika and Skittles. They were adorable. Jessica is one of the best side characters. She was awesome throughout the series. I want a novella of her and Cal's. I need her HEA.
4.5 stars
I was no longer divine.
I was no longer human.
I was a vampire thirsting for blood.
I was hell.
I was death.
I. Am. Fury.
Fifth a Fury is the explosive and inevitable end of Sully and Jinx’s story. We have seen these characters resist each their, fuck each other to the brink of death and insanity, and love each other through hell and back. The lengths these two go to save one another makes me want to yell at them because I can’t stand to see them hurt anymore, but also cheer them on because they deserve to battle and defeat all their demons.
Fifth a Fury is about revenge, redemption, revival, and reincarnation for almost every single character. It’s a long, painful, and sometimes hopeless journey and I honestly couldn’t see through tears at some points which is why it took me so long to read it. I cried in desperation and joy. Pepper delivered everything that I could ever hope for in this fifth and final book. I rated every single book 5 stars, and i absolutely stand by each and every review. Pepper Winters is one of my all time faves, and she outdid herself with the Goddess Isles series. I can see myself revisiting Sully, Eleanor, Pika, and Skittles many times down the road.
I was turned on by his sheer potency. The fact that he could kill me with a single misplaced touch. He was so dangerous in this new form. It made every feminine, female part of me spread her legs and beg.
Sully is right up there with Q as my fave heroes. He is complicated, dark, big hearted, selfless when it comes to those he loves, lust filled, and stubborn. He went through such drastic character growths and it was a pleasure getting to know the real man behind all his walls and masks.
“You aren’t just a woman to me. You never have been and never will be. You are a witch in every way that matters.”
Eleanor. Jinx. What a resilient and fierce woman. She doesn’t fall in love quickly, but once she does she is all in and will never give up. To see her realize her own strength and worth was something to behold. Her connection with Sully is otherworldly and heart poundingly beautiful.
Overall rating 5 stars
Steaminess 4 stars
Intense!! That is how I would describe this whole series, but especially this last book. I wasn't sure what to expect because you just never know with Pepper what crazy journey she will take you on and this one was sheer perfection. I won't soon forget Sullivan Sinclair and Goddess Eleanor Jinx and nor do I want to. This book was such a journey literally from start to finish filled with all the emotions you can imagine and some I don't even have words for. I am so glad I took the journey to the Goddess Isles and I will highly highly recommend this series to everyone I know who like dark and twisted
Pepper Winters has gone above and beyond with the Goddess Isles Series. Fifth a Fury is the last book in the series and will leave you absolutely in awe of her writing. This story will leave you breathless from start to finish. Sully and Eleanor’s journey is one FULL of twists and turns, death, destruction, and emotions that will leave you all over the place. This is a series that will stay with you forever. Goddess Isles is hands down the BEST dark and dirty romance series that I’ve ever read. I highly suggest reading the entire series!
Fifth A Fury, the final book in the Goddess Isles Series was everything I hoped it would be, Phenomenal!
From the first page your thrust into this dark twisted story, as Sully and Eleanor are literally fighting for their lives.
A incredible love story that draws such raw and gripping emotions, a highly addictive masterpiece of undying love between souls who’ve always been destined to be together.
Pepper Winters outdid herself with this beautifully twisted,oh so naughty, totally incredible love story!!
I'm not really sure this was the ending I was expecting for this series. Things initially moved fast, but then slowed for me in the middle. The ending had a nice touch from characters we have met in her other series, but otherwise it was just ok. This one I have to say might be my least fav. out of the series. I look forward to what Pepper brings out next.
I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
The climactic conclusion to Eleanor and Sully does deliver. There is lots of drama going on in this final installment. The story does drag out in some parts, but overall, well written. I liked reading about this couple and finally finding out what happens to them. Do they get a happily ever after or do outside forces tear their dreams to shreds? A must read for dark romance lovers!
AND HERE WE ARE, FOLKS! We are at the end of a wild journey.
This series as a whole has been intense, action packed, and exciting. I can’t remember the last time I indulged in a series quite like this one. I’m not a huge fan of series to begin with, so the fact that I stuck with a five book series– I am just so proud of myself.
Pepper created such a vivid experience for me. I’m not sure if it was her creative and intuitive writing or her locations / settings and descriptions that sold me but they were all PERFECT. I can 100% say I have never read a book quite like any of these. The conclusion was just what we wanted. Well, it was just what I wanted. Knowing that Jinx and Sully are two characters that I will never forget about brings a huge smile on my face.
I would love to go back to Euphoria and walk around with Pika and Skittles. I live to see how Sully and Jinx spend their days. But for the time being– I am so happy to have gone on this long of journey with them all.
I'm so in love with Pepper's writing. Her series will always and I mean ALWAYS leave you clutching your heart because as much as she makes us scream and shout at her characters she always manages to make our hearts soar with her words and those beautiful endings we get.
Sully and Eleanor will forever be a part of me, this series was beyond wonderful. These characters will make you fall in love with them and following their journey was such a joyous ride as it also had it's turmoil at times.
In true Pepper style you will enjoy this ride from beginning to end.
I can't really divulge the story because then I would ruin it for everyone and that's the last thing I want, all I can tell you is READ IT if you love this author's style of writing or author's with similar style.
This is definitely a series that will be on top of my 2020 reads!
I am absolutely gobsmacked. What a conclusion to a fabulous series. Eleanor and Sully, one of the best couples ever!! I actually had to put the book down a few times to give myself time to recover. Sully's devotion and determination to save Eleanor is incredible. In turn, Eleanor's longing to be by his side always is heart wrenching. The ending is wonderful and so fitting. I loved all five books and intend to read them all again. Beautiful! And of course the sex! Whew!!!
⭐️ 4.5 "The Myth is Reality" Stars ⭐️
Fifth a Fury ended the Goddess Isles Series in such a satisfying way! Eleanor and Sully's spectacular story is still paved with multiple obstacles, but their love is what keeps them fighting for a happily ever after! I loved this couple and their two little companions, Pika and Skittles, so much throughout the series. Pepper Winters certainly created a very interesting and fascinating cast of characters in this must read series that will stay with me for a long time.
I’ll admit that this fifth novel wasn't my favorite in the series, maybe because it just wasn’t a good time for me when I read it. Compared to the previous books, I just felt that the story was dragging at times and had a different vibe. Some of it might also be due to the fact that Eleanor and Sully spend a lot of time apart. These complications I was talking about earlier make their relationship arduous, but prove just how far they would go for each others.
I don’t know what to say more about this series and these phenomenal protagonists, because I feel everything has already been said in my other reviews. Pepper Winters concluded my favorite series of 2020 with a very suspenseful and heartbreaking story mixed with erotic encounters and sweet moments. I won’t forget this special world anytime soon.
** ARC received in exchange for an honest review **
This is Pepper’s triumph in the Goddess Isles series!
My emotions were raw reading this book and I actually had to pause reading as my tears blurred the pages. Pepper knows how to pull your strings between suspense, hope, fear, dread and happiness. Sully and Eleanor’s story will become one of those remembered in time as a testament to true love! This series is a must read for those who love romance with a dark twist.
Truly speechless!!!
This book, this entire series has shredded me, it gripped me, it seriously wrapped itself around my poor 'lil heart and at times it obliterated it! The darkness and the way Pepper tells the story, puts you right there in the midst of it, I felt every single emotion, I cried, I laughed, I felt heartbroken and yet it was also heartwarming! And also...hot!!!! Believe me when I say, this most definitely should NOT be read in public!!!!! Oooh, I definitely needed to lie down in dark room a few times 😘
The storyline?....people, whatever you thought? Whatever you expect? Whatever you hope for? Forget it!!! Your wrong! And you'll thank all things you were because the way it all panned out?... perfection at its finest!!!!
At times I tried to take a break, I needed to take a break! But I just couldn't and although I tried to take my time reading it because I didn't want it to end - I couldn't, I NEEDED to know what happened next!
Pepper Winters has a special kind of mind to be able to write like this and I thank her deeply for sharing it with me!!!
The best series by far that the author has ever written!!!!!
