The spice level of this book is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I’m a big fan of adult romance and this did not disappoint.
I received this copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

In Too Deep is exactly the light romantic escape I needed....especially after reading one heartbreaking novel and one novel that was meh...In Too Deep was perfectly delightful. It features three friends, focusing in this particular novel on Laiyla and her love, Levi.

While this novel was novella-ish length, the characters were fully developed, as was the plot. It follows Laiyla as she returns to her high school summer haven and tries to rectify the perceived wrongs that the community feels (primarily against Levi). She invites her three friends and they decide to rebuild a family property into a local resort. While this is happening, Lailya runs into conflict with the locals and her first and only love, Levi. Obviously, as this is a romance, we know that a happily ever after is found but it's not just the story of Laiyla and Levi that begins in this novel, it's also the foundation for Chloe and KT and let me just say--I cannot wait. This novel was quick, balanced, and the perfect read for my reading funk.

Thank you Skye Jordan, for reaching out when you saw that I had a snafu with NetGalley--I'm so happy that I read this first novel and cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

I have enjoyed this author before and had high expectations of this one. It was nice, quick read but nothign remarkable. I love the female friendship the three women formed, the support and acceptance was great.
The heroine read as immature at the beginning and 10 years later she was just as insecure and indecisive as before.
I loved everything about the hero, downright to his fear of her leaving and breaking his heart again.
It's a passionate scond-chance romance, nice small town setting, great family dynamics.
A pet peeve that I want to mention is making the hero the only one who can give orgasms to the heroine. He was her first when they were teenagers, but in the next 10 years none of her relationships gave her sexual (and other) satisfaction and then she reconnects with the hero and the orgasms are back. I find it hard to believe and don't like it at all.
I loved the other two women and I'd be curious to read their stories too.

So so good! I read this book in one sitting, I could not put it down. These characters, including KT and Chloe are so loveable. I hope we get to see more of Chloe and her hot cop, and KT finding her HEA as well. Highly recommend!!
Laiyla is always trying to figure out how to get out from under her parents' thumb. Everything she loves and cherishes is in the small town where her grandfather lived. Levi is her one true love, but she was forced to leave him when she moved to Paris. But like he, she never got over him. When they meet again all their feelings, they thought had been buried over the past decade, resurfaces and they realize they are both, right where they should be.

5 stars!

i have placed this author on the back burner.. and I am an idiot. This author tells you a super sweet heart warming story that has you believing in love and happily ever after with also making it a real story. This story is about character growth, friendship and a story that got her where she is and where she is going. She moves to a town that hates her with the memories of the town she used to love and with hard work and maybe her grandpas well wishes she comes into herself even if she is 30. I immediately HAD to read book 2 because the supporting cast.. is also amazing.

“Kissing her now after all this time only confirms what I already knew—she ruined me for other women. I gave my heart away as a teenager and I never got it back.”
- Skye Jordan, In Too Deep.

I really enjoyed this book! We follow the different perspectives of Laiyla and Levi in this adorable and steamy second chance romance 💕

Laiyla’s always had trouble saying no to her head strong, career driven parents. When their luxurious lifestyle relocated a young Laiyla to Paris, it meant she was no longer able to spend her summers at her beloved grandfathers property at Wildfire Lakes. That also meant saying goodbye to her first love Levi.

We start the story with Laiyla taking a much needed holiday, when a tropical storm unexpectedly hits the small island she is staying on. In an act of bravery, she and another women Chloe, risk their lives to save a women they hardly know named KT. This courageous act forges a life long bond between the three women.

We jump forward to when the girls are 29, going on 30. They’ve made a pact to be together for their birthdays and Laiyla decides to take them to the property she inherited in Wildfire Lakes after her grandfather passed away. It’s been 3 years and she finally feels ready to face the loss, with her best friends by her side.

When she arrives, things are not exactly as she expected. She also didn’t expect that the first person she would run into, is the one she’s never been able to forget, Levi.

I loved the chemistry and emotions between Laiyla and Levi. I also really enjoyed the friendship group Laiyla had with Chloe and KT, and the found family aspect of this book. The steamy scenes were also 👌🏼 but perhaps a little OTT at times. However that’s fine by me... give me all the steam 😂

This one was generously provided to me as an ARC from @netgalley and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and easy romance with some good steamy scenes 😆

Really enjoyed this second chance romance / small town book. Almost felt like I was reading two stories. I would like to have read more about the girls and the cyclone . The book was pretty short and I feel this would have given greater depth to the story and characters . I liked all the characters. KT was my favourite and I look forward to reading more of the Series in the future

I received a complimentary copy of In Too Deep in exchange for an honest review. This was a quick and easy read with enjoyable characters. I really liked the theme development of Laiyla and her friends during a retreat, and their transition into a girl's weekend six years later. It was a great prelude to a well thought out and well written plot. I can't wait to see what the next book will bring.

This is book 1 in the Wildfire Lake series. In this one we are introduced to Laiyla and Levi. While growing up Laiyla wanted for nothing except for her parents to put less pressure on her and actually let her figure out what her dream was. As a teen she gave up the things and people that mattered the most to her in order to try to win her parents approval. Now as an adult, she has never felt like she has gotten nor that her life is her own. On a trip away she meet's 2 women during a catastrophe that no one saw coming and made friends for life. They may be completely different but they have a bond that ties them together like sisters. Years later, they decide it is time to meet up again for their birthdays. Not realizing that it will change their path's or their future dreams. Levi and Laiyla were best friends and teenage sweethearts until she walked away in her effort to please her parents. He has never gotten over her, but he doesn't believe she will stay this time either. Can he realize that people can change and trust her with his heart or will he stay locked away and crush what they could have?

I was a little leery about reading this one but I love this author and thought, why not? I am so glad that I did! I was sucked into this story right from the start and left wanting more when it ended! I loved these women! They are definitely different personalities but they compliment each other and make you laugh and love them. Levi is this strong, resilient man who you can't help but love and feel horrible for at the same time. But then you have to realize both perspectives. My only drawback was I wish Laiyla would have stood up to her parents sooner but I also get why she didn't. I really can't wait for the next one and I really want the one after that!!

This sexy second-chance romance was the great start to an interesting contemporary series. I like the setup with the three friends, Laiyla, KT and Chloe. I love It's also a cautionary tale proving that if you snooze, you loose. Laiyla Saxon is lucky Levi Asher never really got over her, because he's a good man. I found her relationship with her parents, and her acquiescence to their controlling ways to be a bit exhausting, but once she found her balls, she was great. :) I'm looking forward to KT's story.

In Too Deep is a wonderful story of precious friendships, young love, broken hearts and second chances. A small-town story with larger than life characters and familial ties; good and bad. The storyline has an easy ebb and flow, and I thoroughly enjoyed the relationships and how they were portrayed. I’m excited to read the next in the series.

Laiyla and Levi have a past as teenage lovers. She left one summer without saying goodbye and Levi hasn't been the same since. Now twelve years later she's back in town with her two best friends. Is she here to stay or is she going to leave him broken hearted again? I have not read this author in a very long time. I was thrilled when i started reading this book that i was immediately sucked in. There's nothing better than a book you can't put down. I loved all the characters. Laiyla's friends are both so different from her but still get a long great. Levi and Laiyla get a second chance at love. It isn't a easy path back. The town isn't to happy with Laiyla and her parents are still trying to control her. Levi and his family have her back. Now she just has to make a decision. Stay or go. Want a great enjoyable read?

In Too Deep by Skye Jordan is a sexy, emotional, heartwarming standalone romance about friendship, second chances at love, and unbreakable connections. I really loved this story and and I can't wait for the next installments!

Before I focus on Romance and the main characters, I just want to say how much I liked the friendship in this book. Found family trope is one of my favorites and this book served the absolutly right kind! and it was also quite unusual, so I liked that extra wow factor.

Now, about the romance and the main characters, at first I wasn't too sure about them. When I first learned the heroine story and why it was there, I was like "...ok, rich kid problems" but in the end she ended up winning me because her character felt SO real to me, I couldn't believe. And our hero, I don't know what to say, he was everything I was waiting for so the two of them ended up serving a fun and swoon worthy romance!

It's been a hot minute since I've read a Skye Jordan book and this one reminded me of all the reasons I feel so hard for her all those years ago. Renegades, anyone?

There are a lot of things I love about this book and a smoldering hot hero is at the top of the list. I kinda love how we get a little backstory for his journey. He's just a good guy with commitment issues that never really forgot his first love. He's charming and sweet with tons of swoon.

Not far behind Levi is the bond that the women in this book share. I loved this group and their commitment to friendship regardless of distance. They may have started on shaky ground (literally) but in the chaos they found a connection that refused to be broken and it really comes through in the story. I just found myself so absorbed in their lives that the pages almost flipped by themselves.

In Too Deep is a pretty no frills, small town romance loaded with charm, a sexy hero, and a group of friends that you will fall hard and fast for. I am in love already and I can't wait to read the next in the series.

In Too Deep by Skye Jordan finds Laiyla returning to Wildfire Lake after twelve years, and three years after her grandfather passed away, leaving her his property. When she returns, she expects the property to look like it had when she last saw it, especially since she trusted her father to hire a caretaker for it. Only problem was her parents had their own agenda, and, as a result, what she returned to was a disaster. With the help of her friends, KT and Chloe, she’s determined to restore the property and turn it into a resort her grandfather would be proud of. One person standing in her way is the only contractor in town who will help her, who happens to be the love of her life that she left behind because of her parents’ demands.

Levi has an interest in helping Lailya; when she goes to sell the property, he wants it. What he wants more, however, is the woman who left him behind without a backwards glance. Because of Laiyla, Levi has found it hard to commit to anyone else. He wants a wife and kids, but he can’t move on. With Laiyla back in town, he believes this is the chance he has to get her out of his system and move on. What he doesn’t count on it Laiyla burrowing herself further into his heart. Will Lailya be able to finally take a stand against her parents and fight for the love that never died?

The book starts off with Lailya meeting KT and Chloe years earlier. Based on that, I had high hopes she was going to finally make a stand and start living her life for her, not for her parents. Then we move forward six years and she’s still letting her parents run her life. I was a little disappointed with that. I did like that being back at Wildfire Lake seemed to have her changing her tune and she quickly starts thinking for herself and learns, with the help of her friends, how to put herself first.

I liked Levi, for the most part. I thought he was a little too hard on Lailya at times. He holds her responsible for leaving, but at the time she was only seventeen. She had to listen to her parents at that point. I could understand his anger for her not coming back at all though. And for all his determination to keep his heart hardened towards her, he quickly changes his mind.

Lailya’s friends are interesting, and the author sets up possible future relationships for them. I’m interested in learning more about them and seeing what’s in store for them.

With interesting, entertaining characters and a great second chance romance, In Too Deep is one romance fans won’t want to miss.

My first book by the author and I really enjoyed it.
I love second chance romance and this one hit all the marks for a great story with a bit of everything in it.
From the first chapter to the last, it kept me interested and I loved the friendship between the girls and of course the chemistry and steamy scenes.
Looking forward to the next books in the series.

Slow to start but I see how it was necessary to develop the friendship between the Laiyla, KT and Chloe.
As someone exceptionally close to their grandparents, Laiyla had me crying. I was hoping for more of a showdown between Laiyla and her parents over the state of her grandfathers property.
Luke was a mixed bag for me. Too hot and cold.
The ending was a little over dramatic but git the point Laiyla was trying to make.
All in all, it was a good read. I look forward to the next books.
