Lucy and her friend, Katie are partaking in the Polar Plunge as are most local businesses. What she doesn't expect is for a death to occur during the event. The owner of the reception hall that Lucy and Katie looked at , Deacon Spooner, drowns. At first it looks like an accident, but it is soon discovered that he was murdered. The evidence points to bakery owner and Lucy's friend, Susan. Lucy and Katie don't believe Susan is guilty. They start investigating hoping to prove Susan's innocence.

I have always liked this series. The characters are so full of life and are so charming. I love that it is set in a town on the Jersey shore. The author gives you so much detail about the shore and the community of the people who live there. Lucy's parents and landlady are wonderfully colorful secondary characters. I love the lightness that they bring to the book. The mystery was good. I did figure out who the killer was about 70% through the book, but it didn't take away anything from the quality of the book. This is definitely a series I will continue. Thank you to netgalley and Kensington Publishing for this ARC copy.

A good holiday read. Christmas, recipes and the Jersey shore, and throw in a murder and amateur sleuths and you have a fun cozy mystery. Would recommend this book and author.

What a fun addition to this already great series.
Lucy is such a fun character and her friendship with Katie really adds a little twist to the story.
The cover of this book had me smiling so much, I love snowmen and books that take place at the holidays are my favorite.
Lucy has her work cut out for her when a murder investigation has her friend at the top of the suspect list.
All evidence points to Susan, but Lucy knows deep down she’s innocent. Is Lucy wrong this time or is someone setting her friend up to take the fall?

I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

One look at this cover and I couldn't ask the author for an ARC fast enough! What can I say? I'm a sucker for adorable kitties and sandy beaches! This is my first foray into the Kebob Kitchen mystery series, and it won't be my last. Admittedly, I'm not a big hummus girl, but I did love the family-run restaurant and the quaint little Ocean Crest village. There's a hodgepodge of gossipy townsfolk, a mischievous little cat, touristy storefronts and lots of Christmassy activities. It's anyone's guess who drowned the mean-spirited caterer during the Polar Bear Plunge (BRRRRR!), and it's up to Lucy and BFF to put the right person behind bars! Solving the murder was fun, butt I most enjoyed the festivities --from the holiday homes trolley tour to the town Christmas tree lighting. Living in Texas, I'm unfamiliar with the sights and sounds of the Jersey Shore, but it sure sounds like a fun place to visit during the holiday season!

I received this ARC via Netgalley and Kensington Books, in return for an honest review. While not the first book in this series, it is easily read as a stand-alone. Lucy Berberian is at a great place in her life. After eight years as an attorney in NYC, she’s returned to her hometown on the Jersey Shore and taken over her parent’s restaurant, the Kebab Kitchen. It’s been a major change and she’s happily reconnected with an old flame, Azad, and they’re newly engaged. With her mother and her best friend, Katie, encouraging ‘all things wedding’, Lucy’s feeling anxious. That’s not helped by agreeing to participate in the town’s Polar Bear Plunge, benefitting the senior center. Not only is the water frigid, so’s the body of one of the participants. When it’s discovered that the victim was drowned, Lucy is pulled into solving the crime by one of the major suspects. Juggling the restaurant, her wedding planning, and trying to solve a murder could put Lucy out in the cold, if she’s not careful.
It's a pleasure to return to Ocean City and this fun cozy mystery. The characters are well-written and the story flows. I look forward to the next in this series as Lucy’s life in Ocean City continues to evolve.

This is a sweet little book set on the New Jersey shore during the Christmas season. Mistletoe and Murder sounds like a cozy but when you add Moussaka to the mix you get a whole different angle and a bit of the author's own history. The characters are endearing and though there's a murder, there's not much violence in this book at all. I had a hunch about who the murderer was and I turned out to be right, so it may not be a strong example of a mystery, but it is so charming that you could just read it for the story and not the mystery. This is part of a series, but I hadn't read any other books by her and it stands alone just fine. Definitely a sweet addition to the holiday mystery genre.

Lucy Berberian is basking in the glow of the newly engaged. But as her BFF, Katie, pushes her to start planning the wedding, Lucy starts to get anxious. Maybe it’s cold feet, maybe it’s the pressure. But as they visit a potential venue, the owner is so rude that Lucy immediately knocks it out of the running. But when the man is drowned during the annual Polar Bear Plunge that Lucy and Katie participate in, she finds that he was not well liked by anyone. As the police zero in on their friend Susan, Katie and Lucy step up their sleuthing game to identify the true murderer. But will Lucy be walking down the aisle or will her family and fiancé be burying her?

Being a Jersey gal myself, I adore this Jersey shore cozy series. You can practically smell the salty air and feel the breeze blowing in off the water. It’s always Summer at the shore when I am reading one of Tina Kashian’s books, even if it is set in December!
