The Subway Girl was a quick, cute read. This was my first time reading a book by this author and although the writing was really strong, I wasn't a fan of the fact that it was written in 3rd person. Sometimes 3rd person works, but I find that for the most part, it's not the best for Romance especially not by today's standards. Or maybe it's my fault because I rarely read into 3rd person books anymore.

In any event, this was adorable and I heard that maybe it was based one true life story? If that's true that makes it so much cuter.

This book seems a little too busy for me. There was too many characters all vying for something.
A hopeless romantic.
A cynical web show producer.
An unscrupulous cameraman.
A sleazy businessman.
An aspiring actress.
A womanizing best friend.
A scheming ex-girlfriend.
A commitment-phobic roommate.
An unlucky-in-love buddy.

DNF @ 30%. I think this is a case of it’s not you, it’s me. I tend to like an alpha male. And Ryan was not. He was a schoolgirl dreaming of true love and doodling hearts and “Mrs Whoever” on a school binder. None of the other characters were likeable enough for me to get over my disdain of Ryan. So for me this was a pass.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book.
I was pleasantly surprised by the characters and plot in this novel. Ryan and Angie are very easy to like, and have good chemistry together. Their friends are also fun and make the story more realistic.
I don't want to be a stickler, but I suppose my only real issue was how long it took them to reconcile. After such a long time apart, they were instantly confessing. I thought maybe a couple of weeks would have them feeling that way, not months.

The subway girl is a fun and light book all about Ryan looking for his missed connection who he believes could be his true love. Whilst I liked this book I wish it had delved more into the side effects of going viral, how is a person feeling after their life becomes gossip magazine fodder overnight. The characters are fun, the plot is predictable but a good time. Overall, the subway girl an easy beachy romance novel ready for summer.

I was lucky enough to read an early copy of The Subway Girl and I loved it SO MUCH! This story gave me such a book hangover. I read and loved Starfish from Lisa Becker and I went into this one with really high expectations and The Subway Girl exceeded all of them

Inspired by a real life missed connection story, The Subway Girl captured my attention from page one. I really didn't know where the story was going and I was so pleased with how the story progressed. There are so many quirky characters and at first I honestly didn't know who the love interest was going to be. Ryan was a great character and I so enjoyed his love story. Once it becomes clear who the heroine is, it's impossible NOT to root for them! I loved the chemistry and how their relationship progressed.

The Subway Girl was a five star read for me! You know it's worth reading when I read it months ago and am still thinking about how good it was!

Highly highly recommend!

This was my first experience reading this author’s work and now I am off to see what else she has written because I thoroughly enjoyed The Subway Girl! This was a unique and refreshing read In today’s contemporary romance genre. I love these characters—especially Ryan who is the perfect good guy with a heart of gold but who certainly has a swoony, sexy side too! I am hoping the secondary characters get their own books because they were well developed and interesting in their own right. If you believe in fate and soulmates, you must read The Subway Girl! I highly recommend it! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
