Halloween is coming and Charm is ready for the festivities. Everly Swan joins her Aunts for the annual ghost walk fund raiser where one of the reenacts is murdered. The woman scrawled Everly’s name in the earth just before she died and that makes Everly the main suspect.
As Everly looks into the murdered woman’s background, she finds ghosts of the past that may be playing into the current events. But with Halloween and costumes, how can you tell who’s in costume and who’s a ghost? Everly is going to have to figure out who killed the woman before she becomes Charm’s newest ghost.
This is a fabulous series set in the Outer Banks and I cannot get enough of it. Every week I look for an update on when the next book is scheduled to be released and as soon as it is released, I read it in one sitting and begin the wait again. The wait is worth it though, I am never disappointed I also love her newest Cider Shop Mysteries series, written as Julie Anne Lindsey. DEFINITELY add this author to your TBR pile!
Historic Walk Turns Deadly....
Book five in the Seaside Cafe Mystery series and Halloween preparations are well underway. Everly Swan has her hands full but even more so when the historic spooky walking tour turns deadly and Everly becomes a prime suspect in a murder. Enjoyable cosy mystery with a likeable protagonist and a colourful cast of supporting characters. Includes food and drinks recipes.
Charm's Halloween celebrations are beginning and Everly finds a body on the beach. I have visited the outer banks of North Carolina so it was fun reading about it. The mystery is good and the characters are relatable.

I received an advance copy of, Closely Harbored Secrets by, Bree Baker. This is book 5 of 5 in the, Seaside Cafe Mysteries. Its almost Halloween in Charm, North Carolina. There is a mystery to solve, will Everly Swan solve the case? This was a good book.
During the small town of Charm's Halloween celebrations, Everly finds a corpse on the beach that may be tied to a ghost story.
A very quick, easy read. The ghost component wasn't the best part of the book for me but what I really enjoyed was that the mystery has to do with antique books and maps and references treasures quite a bit, which was lovely. Everly also has a well-developed romantic arc in this which I found very satisfactory and her aunt's candidacy for Mayor of Charm is a great subplot.
A good cosy which made me want to find a good recipe for rum cake. Stay tuned! :)
