This has some good information for people who deal with Mental health issues. It gave some stories of people who deal with anxiety and how to cope with it.
A short quick read that packs a punch. Basic principles is that what you put into the universe is what you receive. Getting rid of negative thoughts and feeling happy will make your dreams come true.
I am sorry for not reviewing fully but I don’t have the time to read this at the moment. I believe that it wouldn't benefit you as a publisher or your book if I only skimmed it and wrote a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for not fully reviewing!
This was a long process to read through it, but so worth it! This book does just what its title suggests. Dr. Lori Letini and Dr. Nicole Letini, the mother and daughter team that wrote this book, offer insights into their professional understandings of anxiety and mental health, as well as their own personal experiences with it. They share personal accounts of anxiety disorders as told by other people, which helps readers, such as myself, relate to at least one or two of those stories. It's a very beneficial book to read, whether or not you live with one of the mental health disorders. It's time to break the stigma and talk openly about mental health.
Anxiety is something we all have from time to time. But what happens when it consumes one's life and makes it impossible to have a normal life? It helps to have a book to read about this subject with first-hand experiences from those that have suffered from depression, panic attacks and several levels of anxiety. It's like attending a group therapy session in a book. While therapy is highly suggested, there's still a stigma of mental illnesses and this book may be the first step for someone that desperately needs help and comfort from those who have experienced hardships. The book addresses how mental illness should be on the same level as physical illness. The sad fact is that there's not a quick fix. Meds might help. Therapy could be useful. And almost always a support group of friends and family is a plus. The book gives the reader a long list of what has worked for others. However, there's no mention of the effects of diet and nutrition which was a little surprising. And it seems most of the people interviewed are not suffering from financial issues that could be a barrier. It would have been beneficial to have a list of more recommended books at the end, However, I think this would be an excellent resource for doctors with patients that need extra care.
My thanks to the publisher and NetGallery for allowing me to read this copy.
Good book about anxiety, especially in modern times. I have GAD and some of this book resonates with me. Happy to have the opportunity to review this.
This book resonated with me on so many levels. I have lived with an anxiety and depression disorder most of my life and reading this book made me feel less alone in my struggles and gave me lots of insight into the different types of anxiety and ways to cope.
Suffering with severe anxiety myself, I found this book really helpful.
It is written with people's own experiences and what they found helped them.
This book has made me feel less lonely with anxiety.
Thank you Netgalley and Publishers for the Arc
This book functions best as a multi-author memoir. I really appreciated the personal stories of living with anxiety and other mental illnesses in Part II. If you’re suffering from a mental illness, it’s easy to feel like no one else will understand or be able to relate. It’s reassuring to read about how others with similar problems are learning how to manage their symptoms and lead functional lives.
I found some stories more relatable than others, but I appreciated the diversity of experiences shared. I especially appreciated the sections written by Nicole Lentini, who writes from the perspective of both an anxiety and depression sufferer, as well as a resident in psychiatry.
If you or someone you love experiences an anxiety disorder, reading this book will help you better understand the illness. While coping strategies and motherly advice are provided in Part IV, other books go into much more detail on how to treat anxiety.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading memoirs and would like to better understand what it is like to live with an anxiety disorder.
I was provided an unproofed ARC through NetGalley that I volunteered to review.
This was an interesting read. It gave me some great insight toward anxiety. I have had anxiety for as long as I can remember.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
I have struggled with anxiety all of my life and have often felt very alone in the struggle. This book shares other's struggles and I really identified with them and appreciated hearing their stories. This is an awesome read!
As someone who has anxiety, I really appreciated Anxiety Insights. Lori Maney Lentinin and Dr. Nicole Lentini write in such a personable way that will help anyone suffering from anxiety not feel alone.
The introduction to the book started off with POV's between Lori and Nicole. They detailed their own experiences with anxiety detailing when they first noticed certain symptoms and behaviors, how they coped with it, and the type of professional help they sought. I felt like I could relate to their experiences which made me feel like I am not the only one who feels this way.
About halfway through the book, each chapter is a from a different perspective of others' experiences with anxiety. I thought this was so great in reminding people that anxiety doesn't discriminate. It can happen to anyone.
By the last end of the book, they really gave definitions of anxiety, listed different types of anxiety disorders, introduced coping mechanisms, and support.
I give Anxiety Insights 5 stars. I felt like I could relate the experiences that Nicole and others went through. I felt like it was written with respect and the best of intentions. I feel like so many that suffer from anxiety can benefit from this book.
When you live with GAD or any other anxiety disorder, you search and seek and soak up everything you can, hoping you find something new and helpful. This book would so so helpful for people still in that seeking phase. I would and will recommend it.
I enjoyed this book, I think anyone that is suffering from anxiety and depression should read it. This book talks about the mother and daughter relationships with anxiety. It also shares other people's stories as well. In the end it talks about the different types of anxiety and coping skills to manage them. i give this book five starts and I am grateful that netgalley let me read this for an honest review.
This book was amazing. This book showed a mother and daughters struggle with anxiety. This beautiful creation made me laugh made me cry. At times it tore my heart out but in the best most most beautiful personal way.
As you may have Guessed this is not just a medical book on anxiety. This is a mother and daughter’s personal experience with anxiety. And it is that level of personal openness that made this book so great for me. Why? You may ask. Because I myself struggle with anxiety and depression. So I am always looking for books about people with anxiety so I don’t feel so isolated. But most of what I find are what I call medical journals that talk about anxiety as a disorder not a “ Hi I have this to here is what I’ve done to make mine better “. This book does that this book lets you know you are not alone. So if you are looking to feel less isolated and more safe this is the book for you!
This is not a normal anti-anxiety book. This book shares stories by Lori and her daughter Nicole along with many others on their journey of mental illnesses and how they have conquered them. Dr. Nicole also shines some light on the different kinds of anxiety disorders and different available treatments in a very brief section at the end of the book.
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley.
