Ian and Shelby definitely didn’t start on the right foot yet each encounter showed the other that there was more to be discovered! The more time they spent together the stronger their attraction became!

I love how both Shelby and Ian have as good as they got! Their banter and back and forth had me smiling in delight! I do love though how beautiful things were when they let the walls crumble!

Shelby is definitely a go getter but she isn’t vindictive! She doesn’t take advantage of others! Ian though a burly, grunting jerk was also more! He had a heart of gold and would do what he could for those around him even if he looked miserable. I just loved how they brought out the best in each other!

Loud Mouth is a fun, easy, hilarious addition to the Ice Knights series.
Shelby runs a well known hockey website and is newly hired by the Ice Knights. Ian is a professional hockey player whose world was just shattered by some news about his family thanks to Shelby. So when these two are looked in a remote cabin together it’s not all great, however, sparks start to fly and what happens in the cabin doesn’t always stay in the cabin.
I love Shelby. She is funky, she has tattoos, she is a character that you can easily connect with. She is hilarious and I love that she isn’t afraid to stand up to Ian or really any of the hockey players. Ian, he is a growly grump that you can’t help but love from the moment you meet him. I love the chemistry between Shelby and Ian. From the moment the met, despite the dislike towards each other, there was chemistry and it didn’t take long for sparks to fly.
Loud Mouth of full of laughs, chemistry, steam and plenty of laughs. A MUST READ!

Okay so who hasn't been waiting for the next hockey book?? I have this book was just as good as the others and can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading them all. Ian Petrov is a grumpy sourpuss who only cares about his family and his hockey. When a secret is spilled about him and a team mate well Ian's about to blow a gasket. When he trys to get a way he doesn't expect to run into the person responsible for turning his world upside down. Shelby is adorable and I love her character. She writes for The Biscuit and online source for all things hockey. When her and Ian get stuck together sparks fly and well so do words. These two can spare with the best of them. But when the truth comes out and Shelby is really a great person will Ian eat cow and apologize. Can these two get along? Find out how these two navigate through hockey season without killing each other.

I am a huge fan of the Ice Knights and this story did not disappoint me. Shelby found herself stuck between a rock and a hard place when she took that call. Never un my wildest dreams did I expect that to be the story that would come at the most awkward time possible. She handled it like a champ though. Ian on the other hand. He had the reaction of any rightfully scorned person. He kind of handled it better than I would have.

Fast forward to the juicy stuff and the weird Mrs. Morgan.. I laughed so hard I about pissed myself. Talk about a deep blush and a grunting fool. Alex made matters no better and Lucy made the match that much striking.

Shelby and Ian was destined and made to break every rule and chain wrapped around their souls, conscious, and heart.

Great block Journeyman.

Really enjoyed this story! It was funny, sexy and a little bit angsty.

"Her hands still in his, he glanced up at her, his eyes dark with a possessive lust that made her core clench."

Ian Petrov's world has pretty much fallen apart following stunning revelations about his family. Feeling bitter and sorry for himself, he plans to hide away in a cabin and get drunk on scotch. However, he doesn't count on the reason for his life imploding to be sharing the cabin with him. And when they get snowed in, there's no denying the attraction between them.

"When it came to Ian Petrov, she didn't want now - she wanted forever."

Shelby Blanton feels terrible. She runs off to a remote cabin to lick her wounds but her worst nightmare is upon her when she ends up trapped with the one guy in the world that hates her. However, when things start to change between them, will it be a case of what happens in the cabin stays in the cabin, or do they have a chance for something more?

"He couldn't explain it. He didn't understand it. He just needed her. Period."

This was such a fab story. It was humorous, really sexy and filled with a certain amount of angst, as both Ian and Shelby battle with their own personal demons. I loved the connection between them and their chemistry was sizzling and compelling. Ian was his own man with a clear idea of his path but he also needed to change how he perceived himself. Shelby was a strong, independent heroine. I admired her intellect and her feistiness. A thrilling and heartwarming read!

This is the 3rd book in this series and is Ian and Shelby’s story. Shelby is a blogger who had no clue that Ian would be blindsided by the information she spills, and that is that his teammate and best buddy is his half-brother. Needing to get away and regroup Ian heads towards a cabin, not knowing that Shelby has the same idea, and they end up stuck together there, with not much to do but confront the issues on hand. This is a well written flawless story which is humorous, entertaining, and with witty banter and is a steamy read. I look forward to reading more from this author and recommend this for all rom-com comedy lovers.

This was my first ever Flynn read and I was positively surprised! Will definitely look into her other books in this series and all the others she has written.

There's something about sports romances.. They grow on me more and more which is surprising as I ain't a sports gal at all. But I love it when it doesn't take away from the book itself and still keeps it intriguing and captivating.

The main characters, Ian and Shelby, are both really stubborn and have their own problems to deal with so getting snowed in a cabin together wasn't something they wanted. Judging by how big a secret was revealed and how much it affected Ian, it was a little weird how their relationship developed so quickly and how fast they forgave each other and got it on. Usually that's what I prefer, but it felt a bit rushed and anticlimactic. Kinda wish they had had to work for it a bit more.

I liked how the author had added depth to both of these characters and even though Shelby being a recovering alcoholic wasn't discussed as much as I wished, it didn't take much away for me. Ian's problems were definitely more in the limelight and damn did they get a satisfying ending.

Ian's dad, the ultimate famous hockey player - gosh how I hated him. I know these kinds of people all too well and it disgusted me how he went from all smiles to a total prick in a second. You really see what someone is like when they are used to getting what they want, but suddenly someone says no to them. I really enjoy it when authors basically toss these assholes into the flames and they get what they deserve. He was a welcome addition to the story who added the needed drama.

Oh, and there was a The Witcher reference pretty early on in the book and I just kept imagining Henry Cavill as Ian which made the experience all the better. Daaaamn.

All in all, it was a really lighthearted and quick read and I'm glad to have been given the opportunity to read it! Have found myself another favorite rom-com author :)

I had so much fun reading Loud Mouth. This pair of enemies sure gave off lots of sparks regardless if they were verbal sparring or rolling around the sheets. Shelby and Ian were both likable characters with real life concerns. Their attraction was evident from the very beginning but they had their reasons to resist the temptation and hold back on their feelings. My heart went out for Ian and I admired his strength in breaking free of the expectations that other people had on him because of his father’s hockey legacy. I couldn’t ask for a better ending and the epilogue was the best. They both deserved the happily ever after that they worked so hard for.

It was lovely to go back to Harbor City and visit the hockey hunks of the Ice Knights. I truly enjoyed this fun, steamy romance and would recommend it to anyone who love a feel-good rom-com.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this wonderful, snarky, and funny book, Loud Mouth by Avery, book three in her Ice Knights series. This story, in typical Avery style, had me on an emotional journey as we followed Shelby and Ian’s enemies to friends love story as they haphazardly slide across the ice, scoring yet another goal.

Needing to find an outlet and direction for her life, Shelby started writing a hockey blog, The Biscuit. A few years later she lands a position with the Ice Knights, expanding her blog. A phone call from her mother, featuring some juicy hockey gossip, is overheard by a local news reporter. Not having any scruples this reporter lets the city know that Ice Knights’ hockey star Ian Petrov’s best friend and teammate is actually his half brother. Surprise!! Shelby is embarrassed that the news was made public before Ian was informed of this bit information; since he had no prior clue. Instead of being mad with his dad or former best friend/brother from another mother, he’s angry with me; the poor messenger. In an attempt to get away, Shelby hides away in a remote cabin only to discover Ian had the same idea and arrives at the same cabin in the middle of the night. Of all the luck in the world, these two awaken after a massive blizzard trapping them in the cabin. The sizzling attraction and chemistry are causing a major tension between them that only kisses, caresses, and a bed can release. Ian has turned into a snarly grump and Shelby is imagining all the things she wants Ian to do and how amazing it would be. After escaping from the cabin, Shelby is assigned to cover the brothers during a road trip. These enemies are fast becoming friends, and possibly more as they spend time together, getting to truly know and understand each other. When things get complicated, Shelby is there, standing up for and protecting Ian. Now Ian has to figure out how to keep Shelby alongside him, and in his life, possibly forever.

Ms. Flynn wrote a wonderful and hysterical story that was moving and filled with sizzling chemistry, humorous and snarky dialogue, and endearing characters that should definitely not be missed. I highly recommend Loud Mouth to other readers.

Loud-mouth, or rather, big-mouth hockey blogger Shelby Blanton is the one responsible for Ian Petrov’s current grievances with his half-brother (and former best friend) and his cheater of a father who’d left a trail of affairs in his wake, even if it was an accident. Trapped in a media scandal with his ego bruised, his pride in tatters and his closest friendship in the drain, Ian Petrov has little going for him at the moment. Worse yet, it’s the person whom he blames for his predicament who’s slowly getting under his skin for a different reason.

Avery Flynn’s ‘Loud Mouth’ is premised on the idea that Shelby and Ian start out as sort-of enemies, get snowed in and stuck together in an AirBnb rental accidentally…until attraction overwhelms the initial tension which is worked out more in bed than anything else.

Both Flynn’s protagonists do carry the weight of their own familial issues in some ways, though it’s Ian’s daddy issues—tied into the whole sport of hockey—that come to the forefront. Shelby however, stands out as a statement-making female lead character in her own right: with shaven sides, gap-teeth and 6-years sober, carrying an undercurrent of distrust of women like her mother who fell in love way too easily.

My issue really, was with the pace with which Shelby and Ian suddenly fell into bed to work out their bubbling sexual tension; the shift from enemies to heavy-breathing and lust-ridden desires was seismically sudden when their mutual hostility melted away in what felt like 5 minutes. Without some kind of gradual buildup, their relationship development felt rushed and surface-level, with the emphasis on releasing pent-up attraction (and the subsequent infatuation) instead of emotional deepening and simply getting to know each other past the furtive but desirous looks. That Flynn wrote them falling in love after several mind-blowing orgasms didn’t seem too believable because what they had between them didn’t seem to be accompanied by a solid base of friendship and emotional openness.

I hadn’t read the previous books before embarking on this one—show me an enemies-to-lovers book and I’m full on pouncing on it, which was my abrupt entry really, into Flynn’s ‘Ice Knights’ series. But the story is not a hard one to follow, more so because it’s written with punchy sass, a brisk pace that moves the plot on without languishing too much on inner monologues and angsty, drawn-out moments.

In fact, ‘Loud Mouth’ skirts the angst and opts for quick and light resolutions that made me wonder at times if the issues present at the start of the book were more swept under the carpet than put to bed. But the bottom-line is pretty much this: if the rom-com thing is what you need right now, then this certainly delivers.

Loud Mouth by Avery Flynn was a relatively decent read that did not blow me away despite the fact that I really wanted to. While the character of Shelby, a blogger, recovering alcoholic with a funky haircut and tatoos, would initially seem interesting, she is pretty much the regular female main character in a romance, just with some interesting traits. Ian, the hockey player, is nothing special either. Most of the time he seems to be trying to keep his raging temper or his hardening assets under control.

There is no ice time in this hockey romance unless you count the cute scene where Ian tries to teach Shelby how to skate.

Unfortunately, Loud Mouth is burgeoning with cliched writing from the currently ubiquitous: climb him like a tree, to the main character deciding immediately after sex that she’s fallen for the dude (it’s lust, dear; if it’s right after sex, it’s always lust…unless he magically produces your favorite flowers from unknown places during the act.). I’m pretty sure there was also the “hot mess” description that desperately needs to be eradicated from romances.

I really wanted to laugh and feel good but felt blah instead. Blah enough that I actually picked up, read, and reviewed a children’s book in order to give myself a break.

I told myself at the beginning of the year that I really needed to stop feeling optimistic about new romantic comedies unless they’re written by a favorite author. Back to square one.

To be fair, the reader reviews on Goodreads have been in the 4 and 5 star range so if the blurb sounds like something you know you’d love, go for it.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Avery Flynn is one of my go to authors for light-hearted, slump buster reads. And Loud Mouth has plenty of the Rom Com moments I’ve come to expect, but what stood out to me most were more serious concerns.

Like the Hartigans series from which Ice Knights grew, this series has been good about having heroines with lots of different body types and looks. Shelby is skinny and gap-toothed with a funky haircut - I imagine she’d be played by Kristen Stewart in the movie adaption. Pairing her with a professional hockey player makes a statement.

Loud Mouth also has a lot to say about father figures, which is interesting given its Father’s Day week release. I won’t spoil it by saying anything else though. It also addresses addiction, but it’s not an obstacle in the relationship like you might expect. It’s just another aspect of Shelby’s personality.

The actual obstacle is basically a lack of communication which is frustrating because it’s so predictable. But my real complaint is that Shelby and Ian’s relationship feels like a movie montage. I never really felt the emotional connection. I did enjoy the relationship between half brothers Ian and Alex and how Shelby played into it, as well as the hockey elements.

Like the previous entries in the Ice Knights series, I enjoyed Loud Mouth. I just don't like this series as much as the Hartigans, despite how much they overlap. I do hope that Flynn continues to bring in characters and places from the rest of her Harbor City series as the rest of the Ice Knights team get their HEAs.

Avery Flynn is one of my go-to rom com authors, and I have been looking forward to reading Loud Mouth since it was first announced.

As I expected, there are lots of laughs, sweet moments, and great chemistry and banter. There was also a little heartache and Ian's anger over finding out his best friend and teammate is actually his half-brother.

I really liked Shelby and Ian as the heroine and hero of this book. They were both flawed, realistic characters who found something special with each other.

There is also a cameo from Lucy, a character that will be familiar if you read the author's other series. As her Harbor City, Hartigans, and Ice Knights are connected, I love getting glimpses of characters from the other books.

Wait Avery Flynn releasing another book? What is it because I want in! If Flynn writes it, I want to read it. I almost NEED to read it.
Loud Mouth was the perfect fit into the chaos of Harbor City. Two Hockey Players, brothers with out one of them knowing it, leaked by the most love/hated hockey blogger in Harbor City. Shelby has been using the Hockey Blog, The Biscuit as part of her recovery of being an alcoholic. It has given her something to focus on outside of drinking. And finally, the Biscuit has entered a partnership with the Harbor City Hockey team, the Ice Knights. Shelby new job as part of the PR team for the Ice Knights will be to provide social media content for the team and its players. Just as this amazing opportunity is starting for her, her mother shares some earth-shattering gossip which is overheard by another reporter. The Gossip outs Alex Christiansen and Ian Petrov as brothers. One knew they were, there other was clueless. The start of the story starts off with a blizzard and Ian and Shelby stuck together in the mountains. Could things get worse for them?
The chemistry between Ian and Shelby is almost tangible off the pages. You can feel the electricity (and not from the taser) as you read of them dancing around each other. One of the things I love about Avery Flynn’s writing is the uniqueness of her characters. She embraces all kind of beauty and body types in her characters. She has a magical way of making the unconventional beautiful. Shelby has her hard edges, but she uses it as shield to protect her heart. He life has not been easy, and she craves nothing more than just calm and normalcy.
Ian is complex and so much to take out of his character. He claims to not be trying to live up to his father’s legacy, but it weighs heavy on all his actions. I think part of his quick to react is because he wants to strike before he gets hurt. You can see his evolution as he slow accepts that Shelby was never out to hurt him. But he is very quick to put up walls when he feels taken advantage off.
Loud Mouth was fantastic! Loud Mouth was the perfect follow up to the funny quirkiness to Awk-weird. I love the world of Harbor City and I am all in! From the Hartigans to the Carlyle to the craziness that is the Ice Knights I am always so happy with the chaos of Harbor City. The moments of laughter paired with the complexity of the characters made this a phenomenal read for me. This is the magic I have come to expect from Avery Flynn. This was a 5/5 read for me. I am all in what ever Ms. Flynn writes next!

Thank you Entangled Publishing for my ARC

I was so happy to receive the ARC of Loud Mouth. I just recently listened to the first two Ice Knights stories, and I needed more.

I am a fan of an enemies to lovers story. I love the spark and snark between our lovelies. You know that when the get their sh!t together things are going to be explosive.

I mean the sexual tension between them can be felt off the page.

Shelby is a lot of fun. Life has given her lemons, and she is now fighting her past and making lemonade. I loved that she has had to fight for what she has.

There is the perfect balance of humour and emotion. I adore Shelby's sass, and I need a Petrov to growl at me

I hope we get more of the Ice Knights in the future.

This is the kind of light and easy romance that you can read in one sitting and enjoy every page. It’s low angst and sexy with likable characters and a storyline that’s familiar but done in Flynn’s own way. While I’ve read plenty of her work in the past, I’m not caught up on this particular series, and I had no trouble jumping right in and getting into the story. It’s not really what I would call an enemies to lovers romance - these two are more frustrated by the situation than anything - but it’s definitely got that kind of vibe in the beginning. Our couple is stuck together in a cabin, and it’s not long before they’re getting over their issues and heating things up in an altogether different way. I had a couple of minor issues with the romance (more on that in a minute), but nothing that prevented me from enjoying the book from start to finish.

The story follows Ian, a hockey player who is reeling from the discovery that his teammate is actually his half brother. Ian goes to a cabin to forget about his worries, but the source of all of his problems has the same idea. Shelby didn’t mean to send Ian’s life into a tailspin, but she understands why he’s so moody. When there’s a mixup over rental agreements and too much snow to go home, these two are forced to confront the situation and see where they go from here.

I’ve read this author’s work several times before, so I knew I was in for a light and sexy read - and it is exactly that. There’s nothing groundbreaking about the storyline, but I loved getting to know more about this couple. It’s steamy, a little playful, and reads very quickly. Honestly that’s also my biggest complaint - these fall into bed so quickly that I didn’t think there was enough tension or buildup, and the relationship remains pretty superficial after that. I liked them together, I wanted them together, but I still don’t know all that much about either character or what they share besides lust. We do find out that Shelby is a 6-years-sober alcoholic, and I almost wish that hadn’t been included because it wasn’t treated with care. It’s quite possible that Ian was drunk and smelling like booze when they exchange I love you’s for the first time, and that seemed 100% unnecessary. Certainly not a major hindrance to enjoying the book, but definitely something I noticed. All in all, I liked the book a lot and look forward to more from the series. It’s the kind of light read that I’ll pick up without hesitation each time. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review of this light and sexy romance.

Avery Flynn always writes a fun story. Shelby is a hilarious character. From her inner monologues, to her inappropriate outbursts, it all matches to her tattoos and wild hairstyles. Ian is her total opposite, totally bottomed up and hard to understand. These two should not be in the same room for fear of combustion, but when it happens it oh so hilarious to watch. You will absolutely enjoy these fun characters the author has once again created in this series for your reading pleasure.

LOUD MOUTH is a cute enemies-to-lovers style romance around hockey. Shelby is a hockey blogger who accidentally leaked the fact that Ian and his half-brother played for the same team. The problem is that Ian didn't know he had a half-brother. Ian felt thrown for a loop and directed his anger at Shelby. Shelby feels bad for letting it leak, but it was really an accident.

The book begins when they find themselves holding the same cabin reservation and are snowed in together. As they spend time stuck together, they find that they have a lot of attraction and can start to get rid of their misplaced anger. When the dust settles and they return to the rest of the world, they will have to see if the feelings remain.

This was a steamy, fun romance that features almost-enemies and getting trapped together. The chemistry is off the charts, and it was an overall really fun read. The hockey backdrop, plus the larger world continuation from the past books in the series, add to the appeal. Overall, I would definitely recommend for people looking for fun romance read with a touch of sarcasm and comedy.

Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher through netgalley. All opinions are my own.

What a wonderful way to be introduced to a new author!

Loud Mouth by Avery Flynn is a highly readable sports romcom.

We have surly alpha sportsmen, women working in a male dominated field who effectively corall them and unsuspecting women who tame these sometimes broken men. Recipe for success? Absolutely!

Although lighthearted, this novel tackles some serious issues with practical finesse. It is highly readable and is a book which will capture your interest and keep it till the very last page.

This may be my first Avery Flynn but definitely won't be my last!

Adorable, laugh out loud addition to the Ice Knights series!

The sparks fly when Ian and Shelby are locked away in a remote cabin together (an infamous Lucy setup? maybe...), but what happened in that zip code doesn't stay in that zip code. Ian and Shelby brought the sparks back with them and their chemistry is so hot it basically melts the ice in the hockey rink.

Even though Shelby didn't advertently release information about Ian and Alex's parentage (two men and best friends from the same hockey team), it was leaked nonetheless. The outcome of that information was disastrous and a friendship between Ian and Alex was ruined along with the potential of a season championship. Shelby feels horrible, hence why she's hiding out at a cabin all alone, or at least she thought she was. That was until Ian shows up at the same secluded cabin.

Ian is angry. He feels like the rug has been pulled out from under his life at the secrets and lies that both his father and Alex, the man whom he called his best friend, have been keeping from him. His own half-brother has known this secret for years and never told him so he's angry, which is why he's decided to hide out at a remote cabin and lick his wounds alone. Or at least he thought he was until he is stun gunned by a feisty woman, the very one who outed his family secret.

While Ian and Shelby work out their forgiveness, by ways of their instant chemistry, the team wants Shelby to work her magic on Ian and Alex so they can reconnect their friendship and the team can bring home a championship. Somethings may be easier said than done.

Shelby joins the team for a long away road trip and gets very cozy with Ian and Alex every night at dinner so she's able to create an exclusive story about the two, allowing them to reconnect, but also allowing Ian and Shelby to inadvertently grow closer making their relationship almost impossible to shy away from.

Could these two really make it work? The hockey player and the media loud mouth? I believe they sound like a match made in Ice Knight heaven!
