I always enjoy books by Lisa Harris. This suspense novel was well done and very interesting until the very end.
The Escape is a contemporary novel written by Lisa Harris. It is book one in the U.S. Marshals series.
Summary: U.S. Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn have been tasked with a dangerous prisoner transfer from the Pacific Northwest to Denver.
But the transfer ends up being anything but routine. A storm crash-lands them in the middle of a forest, and one prisoner is able to escape.
What follows is a desperate chase as the marshals race to catch a man who will do anything to get away.
My Thoughts: This book was pretty good. It definitely has plenty of action with all of the chase scenes. I liked the characters, the writing was solid, and there is also an underlying mystery that is left at a cliff-hanger to entice you into the next book!
If you enjoy a book with lots of action and plenty of twists and turns, this one will be right up your alley.

The Escape had me so engrossed that I read rhe entire book in a day! It's full of love, faith, and suspense. Even the ending leaves you wondering what will happen next. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves clean thrillers!
U.S. Marshalls Madison and Jonas are working together to transport some felons cross-country when their plane crashes and one of the criminals escapes. They spend the rest of their time together chasing that man while he's hunting them. In "The Escape", Lisa Harris employs tension and mystery to keep the reader glued to their books! I truly enjoyed this book and read it quickly. It ended with a small cliffhanger that just motivates me to read the next book.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
The Escape by Lisa Harris is a book I could not put down. It has two suspense storylines going on but the majority of the book concentrated on tracking down an escaped prisoner. They had him in custody but something went wrong when the plane they were transporting him in crashed. The pilot and one other prisoner died but Madison James, Jonas Quinn and one other prisoner survived. The prisoner who survived was considered extremely dangerous and he managed to escape. I don't want to give too much away but this prisoner throughout his escape manage to use people to his advantage, some willing (women) and some not so willing that he took hostage. He seemed to always be one step ahead of Madison and Jonas finding him. The last 10 percent of the book dealt with they mystery of Madison's husband's death and I will stop here because I don't want to give too much information away. All I can say is that they mystery was not solved and will be continued in the next book.

Lisa Harris did an outstanding job on this book. I absolutely loved it. A lot of twist and turns ,mysterious and full of adventure with a little romance. I can't wait for the next one. Absolutely recommend this book .
What a fantastic romantic suspense. I was on the edge of my seat and holding my breath as I read this action packed book. What great writing. I will be waiting impatiently for the next book in the series. Suspense fans will not be disappointed. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.
US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn take off on what they expect to be a typical prisoner transport. But a storm causes problems that result in a plane crash deep in the forests in Idaho. When Madison and Jonas regain consciousness they discover one prisoner dead and the other in the wind. Now they have a deadly fugitive to track through remote portions of Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado, all the while feeling like they are constantly one step behind.
This story is fast-paced. It kept me wondering along with the characters what was going to happen next. The chase is filled with unexpected turns that not only allow you to better know the characters but also keep you on the edge of your seat. This book was hard to put down!
This book hooked me and kept me on the edge of my seat from the first page. These characters interesting and relatable and I loved their chemistry. It was so fun to read.
I would recommend this book to anyone.
The Escape (US Marshals #1) by Lisa Harris is a non-stop action thriller which is the first in the US Marshals series. I like the main characters of Madison James and Jonas Quinn.
Madison and Jonas are teamed for a flight to escort a couple of prisoners from Seattle to Denver. Before they reach their destination the pilot announces to prepare for a crash landing. After the impact of the crash, Madison discovers one prisoner has died. The most dangerous prisoner, Damon Barrick manages to overpower Madison and escapes with her gun.
Once Jonas has recovered enough to get moving, Madison joins him in trying to track their escapee. As the manhunt increases with more support, Madison is determined to apprehend Damon Barrick. He is a deadly con man who charms wealthy women, gains access to their money, and then kills them. Follow along on this deadly game of tag as these two US Marshals do not give up the chase! I look forward to reading more in this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. And wouldn't you know, it's a cliff hanger!! The plot is great, and I love the way everything just seemed to flow. I can't wait to have this book at my library so I can recommend it to everyone.
The escape is a fast moving gripping novel. I was engaged and enjoyed the descriptions throughout. The relationship development is interesting to observe.
Madison James and Jonas Quinn team up as U.S. Marshals to transfer two criminals from Seattle Washington to Denver Colorado. When their plane crashed they were always a step behind when trying to capture the missing murderer.
The book started talking about the murder of Madison's husband and giving a hint of mystery with the arrival of black roses. It then focused on an unrealistic love story between Madison and Jonas. I found myself wondering about Jonas always falling for coworkers! And the original mystery was never solved - just mentioned again at the end to try to entice us to read the next book.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.
This book was action packed the whole way through and I am totally sad that it's a series since I desperately want to read book two now! Reminds self that patience is a virtue!
I liked that there were two mysteries going on in the book and one characters motives were slightly ambigious (I can't say any more or I'll be giving spoilers).
I highly recommend this book and will be suggesting it to others. I've read Lisa Harris' other works and I know of at least two people that I've suggested read her, that are now fans. So should you read this? Totally!
I enjoyed this book. A lot of cat and mouse chases with a fugitive who is determined to escape. I liked the characters and the setting.
