First of all, what's with Alex North and creepy hand print!. I so love his covers and can't get enough of them!

I know that this is just a chapter sampler with the prologue and first chapter. But it has only increased my excitement for the book to be released so that I can devour it in one sitting.

We get a tiny glimpse into the life of detective Amanda Beck, one of the important supporting characters in North's previous book, The Whisper Man. And I can't wait to get to know more about her.

This little chapter sampler has certainly whet my appetite for ingesting the remainder of the book. I loved The Whisper Man, so am excited for this!

I received a chapter to review of The Shadows in exchange for an honest review. This book already has me hooked in the first chapter, and I cannot wait to get the whole book! It is a thrilling read set to hit shelves in July. Chapter 1 already had a lot of blood and gore, so if that is your thing, then check out this book!

Intriguing and unsettling--this sample propels the reader to the abrupt chapter ending and makes the reader anxious for more. This is not my type of book; I'm not much for horror, but this sample will certainly draw horror fans in.

It's hard to judge a book by its first chapter, but the way that that chapter ended, DAMN. I definitely plan on picking this one up once it comes out.

Also the cover art is AMAZING, I am absolutely in love with it.

I hadn't realised it was only an excerpt from The Shadows, aka The Shadow Friend, so I'm not sure how to review it.
However, the couple of chapters that were provided were definitely gripping, and I will be reaching for the full novel.

These first few chapters really set up the Shadows to be a thoroughly creepy book! I did notice that the chapters are quite longer than the ones in the Whisper Man.

I was lucky enough to receive a physical ARC from the publisher, but when I saw this sampler I knew I wanted to provide any good feedback I could.

This one confused me for a few chapters at the beginning (so many characters), but now I am humming along and it's really grabbed my attention!

It's similar to The Whisper Man, but also very different. I may end up liking it more!

After reading Alex North’s The Whispsr Man I didn’t hesitate at all to get my hands on this sample chapter. I cannot wait to see where the story of Charlie Crabtree leads our nightmares.

The sampler is intriguing. Still waiting om an approval for the full book. It appears that this book may tie into the first book, The Whisper Man. I thoroughly enjoyed Alex North's first book and will hope that his second one lives up to my expectations. I am curious about what the boy in the beginning did or did not do at the playground.

I loved The Whisper Man and was excited to l get a peek at this one. From the first page, I was immediately sucked in and now I don’t want to stop reading! The writing was so good and the scenes were super atmospheric. So good! I will be reading this one ASAP.

Wow, I'm intrigued! The first line had me hooked. There's an air of mystery. The progression of events were well written. Even though I only read the first chapter, this is an edge of your seat thriller!!
