This is about a young woman named Kitty. When she and her future husbands brother contract a disease they set out to find the cure. When Thom is killed Nate refuses to accept his brothers death. As they journey Nate and Kitty learn more about each other. Warning this is a cliff hanger.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

Do you ever think you're in the mood for a certain book, but then you start the book and you just can't get into it? That was the case for me with this one.

Writing style: There were so many immense paragraphs with so many useless details... I thought my head was going to explode from all the info dumping and then pretty much forgetting about everything that I've just read and having to read it all again. The writing also felt very fancy. We're looking through the eyes of a young woman but she (and everyone else) talk like they're 1000 years old. It was really aggravating to read that.

Characters: I've somehow managed to read a lot of books this year where the characters just don't seem to have a personality 🧐 It's very curious to read about somehow without knowing what they want, what they would be willing to do for the ones they love and just generally know what they like... I also haven't a clue what anyone looks like 🤔 I don't know if it was mentioned and I forgot or if the author simply forgot to add it.

Story: I've read 36% of the book and nothing was happening... So annoying. Almost 40% through the book and all that has happened is what has already been described in the synopsis. There hasn't been any build up to anything and there wasn't anything that could have possibly made me continue this book.

I always feel honered when an author contacts me to ask if I would read and review their book. And now I feel almost guilty that I couldn't finish Crunden's book after she was so nice to provide me with a copy, but I pride myself on my honesty so it is what it is. A Touch of Death is a DNF for me.
