My family and I are huge Star Wars fans. We've watched all the movies and shows and actually went to Walt Disney World in Florida specifically to visit Galaxy's Edge. So when I saw this book on NetGalley I knew I just had to have it.

What a fun book for fans and newcomers to the franchise as well. Full of fun facts, trivia and photos, it provided hours of entertainment for the whole family! Definitely recommend!

I was really excited to read this book for myself and my kids. We are huge Star Wars fans and have watched all the movies as well as the animated series.

Upon opening this book, my first reaction was, that's it? This book was organized in "major" categories but I found the categories lacking or not stimulating enough for me to keep my attention.

This Book of List is fun in that it can start discussions among SW fans of what the author selected over what fans think but it's not comprehensive. I wished they included more SW characters, especially from the Animated Series.
The pictures, some are screen shots, and doesn't look as professional as I expect it to me.

This book is a fun read but not one that I would consider a keeper among SW books.

Lists aren’t my thing. It’s pretty dry. It was nice to read about Star Wars but I already knew most of it. I liked the section about everything else that’s not movies but it would have been nice to expanded stuff throughout. The rest is just about the movies. It’s a good looking book and would probably look great as a physical copy on my coffee table. If I would buy it. It’s nice on a tablet but too big for the screen.

In a beautifully designed book richly illustrated with stills, this book delivers exactly what it promises: a compendium of lists from a galaxy far, far away. It’s probably not the best way to introduce someone to the franchise, but if you’re already a fan you’ll enjoy many of the creative lists (best musicians and bands, best facial hair, screams) and a sense of humor that evinces a deep affection for the universe. If there’s a weakness, it’s that the lists are almost all focused on just the films; there is one list toward the end that incorporates characters from novels, comics, television and theme parks, but fans of those aspects of the franchise may find themselves wishing that these were integrated throughout the entire book. To be fair though, that would make what must have already been a daunting project that much bigger and more complex.

This is great for Star Wars fans - there's nothing particularly new or insightful (particularly if you're already a hardcore fan) but it's a really fun way to look at the series. I love lists so I could easily spend time just flipping through absorbing everything (and have been known to do so at bookstores with similar books). Overall a fun collection of Star Wars trivia!

Ah, lists. Ah Star Wars! Two of my favourite things! I can't get enough of Star Wars so this was honestly a super natural fit for me. Me and my Star Wars book ends littering my little book nook (There's a Yoda one, and the "I Love you... I Know" ones. They are adorable!).

I really enjoyed this informative book. It has tons of Star Wars pictures, throw backs, random info and to top it all off, it brings back a lot of fond memories for me. It is definitely only for the main eleven films that have been created and not any of the extra side lore or animated films and television series.

If you're looking for a little back ground on Star Wars with some trivia and fun pictures, grab this book! It's a great little tie-in to excited Star Wars fans.

I'll keep this review brief. Star Wars: Book of Lists will likely entertain younger readers through its extensive photo galleries, but readers looking for a more detailed experience should skip it. The book has a very limited scope—only one page is given to non-film material, and info from TROS is scarce—and many lists are either incomplete or have a "top 10"–style approach. With that said, there's a two-page list titled "Finest Facial Hair," which is an absolute joy.

The book is very nicely presented with a suitable 'sci fi' layout that it complementary to the subject matter. The list themselves may or may not be interesting, though I think for more hard core fans of the Star Wars franchise a lot of this is kind of obvious. Those not super invested might have fun trying to see how many of the items on the list they could have guessed before reading that section in the book. There are plenty of images, though most are screenshots from the movies (which is the focus moreso than e.g., Rebels or Clone Wars).

There are 8 chapters of lists: Major figures of the galaxy; People, creatures, places and worlds; Vehicles and vessels; Technology and culture; Organizations and factions; Galactic events; Galactic miscellany; Behind the scenes. The end page has a cross reference list of all the subchapters. As an example, in the Technology and Culture section (Chapter 4), you'll find lists such as: deadly droids, distinguished droids, blaster types, prisons/holding cells/labor, pastimes, food and drink, hairstyles, etc. And then under foods, you'll get images and text about dehydrated foods, pallies, shurra fruit, quanya reserve, blue milk, spetan channelfish, green milk. The movie in which the list items was featured is also given for every list item. While there isn't an image for every list item (e.g., two of the seven items for galactic foods did not have a photograph), there is a photograph for nearly every list item in the book. Most are screen shots.

An interesting aspect of the book is that there are several 'comparison' images. E.g., one showing all of Princess Leia's hairstyles, from A New Hope to The Last Jedi. Similarly, there are images that show the aging of characters (e.g., Obi Wan through the years). Another amusing series of images show all the different facial hairs, on both aliens and humans. Heck, even the section on all the various capes is fun.

As a book of random trivia, it definitely accomplishes its purpose. We found a fun game of having someone pick a section and everyone else has to figure out the items on the list - sort of a 'test your Star Wars knowledge'. Granted, a lot of the trivia may or may not be interesting. Do you want to read about the various forms of interrogation? Famous holograms? Hidden homes? Jabba's staff?

In all, this is beautifully presented in full color with a wealth of screen shots to illustrate the lists. The reference in the back makes looking up the facts easier when you want specific info. Some trivia might surprise you but a lot of it you will probably skip over as uninteresting or too obviously known. It's a book that you might want to consider getting the hard cover and keeping handy as a conversation piece on the coffee table. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

Fun and filled to the brim with iconic quotes and photos, Cole Horton creates a fun compilation of information easy to read and view for fans, old and new alike. Spanning every movie in the Star Wars universe, this is a perfect reference book that brings together Star Wars favorites such as droids, aliens, memorable moments, and even behind the scenes tid-bits (such as deleted scenes). I am so excited to have had the opportunity to read this book by the publisher, and am sure to go out and buy the hard copy!

This book provided a lot of behind the scenes information that any fan will enjoy. The lists are great for any trivia buff or for anyone that is not a fan of Star Wars, but wants to impress a fan with some unique facts.

At lest if focuses on 4-9 and forgot about 1-3, for the best. Could be more detailed. But as a basic guid it is acceptable, it can help win a few trivia contests.

This book was around 3.5 stars for me - I liked it more than I expected!

While the book is a little repetitive, it is full of quotes, pictures, and behind the scenes facts. From which aliens were puppets to what disguises our heroes wore and types of lightsabers this book is chock full of Star Wars information.

I wasn't wowed by all the lists, but I definitely learned some new Star Wars stuff. There's a lot of great quotes and nice pictures.

Before I go on to list (haha) all the things I think are weird and strange with this book, I just want to say: I can't fault it for doing what it says. It's a Book of Lists, and it's...a bunch of lists. 100, in fact. So if you don't like lists and repetitiveness...avoid this book.

ANYWAY....here are my critiques. (Scroll down for a tldr;)

I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but the lists that are in here get quite strange and nuanced. I understand some of them, like languages spoken around the galaxy or the different types of ships, but 'List of Objects and People Destroyed by Kylo Ren'? (His HELMET is listed.) 'Ugliest Creatures'? (Also known as "Faces Only A Mother Could Love' - what did they ever do to you?) Is there anything more boring than 'Methods of Interrogation'? Even the lists I don't mind read like one of those Buzzfeed articles ('10 ways that the hot Scot from Outlander made us swoon!' (Note: not a real list, just an example.)) It seems to me that instead of writing a book about Star Wars that is actually useful or entertaining, it's just another way to make something for the consumer that they will buy simply because it's even remotely Star Wars related. You write it, they will come. A lot of the lists do actually feel like they belong in an encyclopedia, and it's great! They're the best ones in the book! But instead of going into more detail, we get to move on to 'Cosmic Coiffures: The Outlandish Hairdos and Luscious Locks of the Galaxy' (I can't make this stuff up - that one sounds like a YouTube video).

A couple other weird ways to phrase things - I GUESS TECHNICALLY Darth Vader is a cyborg, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Also, why do we get Luke's most 'heroic' moments, but Leia's most 'defiant'? I let the author calling Chewie a walking carpet slide (I wasn't sure if that was a movie reference I just forgot), but lost it when they called Lando "this old smoothie' (get it - because he's so smooth). On the other hand, it's not their fault that a snowtrooper (which I forgot even existed) looks like a futurized version of the KKK (did anyone check with the costume department? Are they doing okay?) However, I am Totally Here for Warwick Davis getting his own list (even if it's titled 'Warwick Davis and His Characters Who Start With A 'W''.) The sentence 'Like father like son, lost limbs now run in the Skywalker family' shows up, which is impossibly funny and I had a giggle over it. However, closely followed by a kissing page, which is just mainly Padme and Anakin/Anakin and Padme/Padme and Anakin/Leia and Luke/Luke and Leia/Han and Leia/Leia and Han. I get it. They like to kiss each other. One of the final lists is a list of weirdest names, which okay, I guess. but it does have the sentence 'Poof is a fitting name for a character whose head is shaped like a cotton swab', so I guess I will let that slide because of it's sheer cheek.

tldr; probably a marketing gimmick, definitely not worth your money, but there are a few things in there that are cheeky or chuckle-worthy if you want to take it out of the library or buy it as gag gift or something. I'm going to rewatch my favorites of the series now, and just be grateful they didn't include Reylo's kiss from The Rise of Skywalker on the kissing list.

This was easy to read and or skim through plus the pictures were in color to add emphasis to each lister. These lists answered questions like who has been to the most planets but one of my personal favorites like someone else's review was Han Solo's best one liners, which prompted me to continue this. The pictures with the lists made this not the accompanying texts explaining the lists. I feel this is for the younger Star Wars fan but it can be considered a collector's item for any major Star Wars fan because there are lists for all 11 movies.

This is a beautiful and unique Star Wars book. The author did an excellent job of naming the lists in captivating ways, like Solo's best one-liners and Rebel Rousers. The lists included interesting information, as well as full color pictures. Overall it is a great collection of Star Wars knowledge, that I think any fan would enjoy.

This is a nice flip through book that would be great for young fans, I could have seen myself enjoying it when I was in elementary or middle school. As an adult, it didn't do much for me, but as a fan I do appreciate the content.
