I would love to see the author write a spin-off book featuring Paige as the main character. I really liked her in this storyline. I enjoyed this book and the mystery and characters. I've read a few on this author's other books, but I hadn't read the first book in this series. I'm never disappointed, though, in T. R. Ragan's books.

I love the fact this book was set in Sacramento as I'm from California and love reading books that describe areas I'm familiar with.

A few storylines were happening at once, but they all read well and didn't distract from the main storyline. I love the author wrote strong female characters, and their actions were realistic.
Out of Her Mind is a perfect mystery and crime drama book. I will definitely read more from this author.

A crime reporter with a terrible childhood becomes obsessed with solving the cases of unearthed bones and the disappearance of a 12 year old girl. (minor spoilers!)

Wow - this book was a wild ride with so many fantastic elements. Things I really enjoyed:

1. The multiple story lines, that are connected but are great stand alone stories
2. That it is a crime reporter battling against the clock to find a missing girl, rather than being from the perspective of the Police which is always the case with similar books
3. That the kidnapper was female. This never ever happens in books. It was great to get a female point of view, and I guess understand the different reasons why she would commit such crimes
4. The element of "revenge" was fascinating to read and added a great layer to an already great book
5. The underlying psychological aspects. We get a good understanding of why the things that are happening, happen and aren't left with many questions
6. Strong female characters - both Sawyer and the young girl are very strong woman

I honestly don't have any criticisms of this book, it is one of my top reads of the year. So well written, engaging and a great thriller. I had not read the first book in the series, but found I didn't need to and it made perfect sense as a standalone book.

The second installment in the Sawyer Brooks series is just as riveting as the first. Sawyer is determined to find a missing girl. What she unravels is shocking. All while dealing with her horrifying past. T.R. Ragan has created yet another must read series!

I liked the first book in the series well enough, but I have to say I liked this one more. I'm not sure why, exactly. I guess maybe the mystery was more compelling. You could kind of guess how it was going to go in the first one, but in this one, the motives and outcome were more hidden. Anyway, looking forward to more adventures of Sawyer Brooks.

I was so happy to jot have to wait months to find out what happened! Although now i find myself waiting for book 3. My only complaint with this book is that the Derek thing wasnt resolved or even worked on that much. Cant wait for book 3!!

Out of Her Mind by T.R. Ragan is the second thrilling book in the Sawyer Brooks series. Sawyer follows her hunches and clues to find a kidnapper. Sawyer had a horribly abusive childhood and has tried to make a normal life for herself. She still has issues, but along with her sisters, Harper and Aria, she is slowly making a difference in her quality of life after the sexual abuse she suffered as a child.
Sawyer works as an investigative crime reporter for the Sacramento Independent and has become focused on finding answers and clues to several missing girls from her area over the past years. When Riley Addison goes missing after her music lesson, Sawyer is convinced there is something sinister happening.
It appears there is a female vigilante group in the Sacramento area! Women wearing what appears to be black wigs have been captured on video at a couple of scenes relating to violence against men accused of committing sexual crimes. Oh-Oh! the "Black Wigs" may include someone we know close to Sawyer. The crew members have vowed to get even with the rapists and abusers in their lives. Psycho, Cleo, Lily, and Bug are working together to get justice. How far will they go?
Sawyer works hard to search every clue to find Riley Addison before it is too late. I won't post spoilers, but the treatment of little Riley by her kidnapper is heartbreaking. Once you start reading you will want to continue non-stop until the ending!
