I enjoyed this cozy mystery with all of the characters. The main characters was Sabrina Tate and also her cat Hitchcock.

Sabrina Tate is a mystery novelist that lives in Lavender ,Texas with her cat name Hitchcock. There a country music show that is in town for the summer. Her brother and nephews have shown up to go to the concert. While out on the night with her brother and nephews something happened. There is a body that is found dead. And her nephew might be a suspect.
So she and her cat are drawn into the investigation to help her nephew.

This was a fun story to read. It had action and adventure throughout. And a little suspense at the end. It was fun trying to solve the mystery. It had a few funny parts within the had me giggling to.

I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

The Black Cat Breaks a Mirror by Kay Finch the 5th instalment in the Bad Luck Cat Mystery series. I enjoyed this book and have purchased the previous four books so I can start at the beginning and be all caught up.

I like the Protagonist Sabrina Tate a mystery writer and her black cat Hitchcock . The characters are well developed and very likeable, such as her Aunt Rowe and who doesn't love a cat named Hitchcock. I enjoyed the small town setting of Lavender, Texas

There are plenty of twists and turns to keep me wanting to find out what will happen next. The book is engaging from start to finish, grabbing you from the very beginning. I cant wait for the 6th installment in this series, I recommend this to cozy lovers.

I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Beyond the Page and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my OWN.

This is book 5 in the Bad Luck Cat Mystery series and can be read as a stand alone. Set in Texas, the story line of a country music concert fits right in. Sabrina and her cat, Hitchcock, have tickets to take her brother and his sons to see Jamison. When they find the body of his manager there are a lot of a suspects to sort out. In a few places the story drags a little but it's a good cozy to solve as you read along. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

As a mystery author Sabrina Tate exhibits a healthy curiosity and desire to figure things out. When a P.R. person for the country music star performing at a concert in her hometown is found murdered, she donned her deerstalker, cap, and sets out investigating with her trusty sidekick, her cat Hitchcock. Plenty of suspects and a decent mystery, but I wasn't connecting with any of the characters. Could be my state of mind.

Sabrina and Hitchcock were hot on the trail of a killer, but they needed to clear away the debris scattered in their path, as she tries to solve the puzzle that had a few twists. Hitchcock was one mischievous little feline that was always getting them in trouble hahaha, this kitty knows how to liven things up. They make an exemplar sleuthing pair, always in the hot spot, but Sabrina was stubborn and determined to get to the truth. This murder mystery was fun intensely captivating, intriguing, and exciting.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book not realizing that it wasn't the first in the series. Now I have to go back to the beginning and buy the others. Love Hitchcock, such a smart cat proving that black cats aren't evil.
I would highly recommend this book, this series.
This is a fair review.

The Black Cat Breaks a Mirror by Kay Finch is the fifth book in the Bad Luck Cat mystery series. Sabrina is an author in Texas. Her brother and nephews are in town for a country music concert. When her older nephew stumbles on a dead body, Sabina feels compelled to solve the mystery. I had not read any of the previous books in this series, but I was able to follow along with the characters. Hitchcock is the "bad luck cat" and a wonderful addition to the book. This is a good cozy mystery for those who enjoy a book heavy on the mystery with a healthy dose of mischievous cat.

Sabrina is a cozy writer; she loves what she does, but allows herself to get distracted from the writing her new book proposal when murder comes to town. She may not be a New York Times bestseller yet, but she has all the makings of one. Unfortunately, her career may end before it gets started if she can prove that she didn't commit murder. The latest additions to the "A Bad Luck cat Mystery" series, The Black Cat Breaks a Mirror, will have readers turning the page and spending a few hours riveted to each one.

Sabrina is a compelling character that readers will enjoy. Her writing will take a back seat to the murder investigation, but readers will get a sense of who she is and how she pieces together her books by how she devotes herself to finding the missing pieces of the puzzle that will prove the guilty party is arrested. Her aunt, brother, and nephews all have a role to play, and each brings a nuance to the story that keeps readers engaged and happy. The victim, Marty, isn't necessarily a good guy, but neither is he the worst one around. It doesn't take long for Sabrina to come up with multiple suspects and red herrings. The evidence leads to the killer, but may not be the character readers are anticipating. Many will be surprised to find out that everything they thought they knew turns out to be incorrect.

The writing is fluid, with effortless transitions and easy to follow narratives. Hitchcock, the cat, as usual, leaves readers with a need to run out and find a furry cat companion that they can have deep, meaningful conversations with, but there is only one Hitchcock. The recipes for some of the most delicious desserts have mouth-watering effects leaving readers hungry and anxious to try their hand at a few.

I've been following this author's series since it premiered a few years back, and the reason, because I have a black cat and the story is intriguing as hell. Kay Finch doesn't under impress in the next addition for the Black Cat Series, and I adore the narrative that is always delivered for her endearing and witty characters. A well created and constructed plot and mystery, once again, Kay Finch has exceeded my expectations on another cozy mystery book.

A Killer At Large.....
Book five in the Bad Luck Cat Mystery series finds mystery writer Sabrina Tate along with black cat Hitchcock heading to a country music event. Unfortunately for them they realise that there’s a killer at large when a body is found. With the town aflood with Summer visitors and music aficionados suspects are numerous. Enjoyable cosy mystery with a likeable protagonist and a colourful cast of supporting characters. A fun read.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars, I liked it.

Book 5 in the series, and probably my favorite so far.

Hitchcock is back! I love Hitchcock, with his ability to show up where and when least expected. Sabrina feels fully fleshed out now, and likeable. And I adore Aunt Rowe, though I feel like this book kind of portrayed her as a bit naive, rather than the smart business woman she is.

The mystery was well written and I ended up reading this in one long reading session, rather than putting it down and going to bed like I should have, haha.

Looking forward to more.

I hadn’t read the previous books in the series, but will do so now. It worked fine coming into the series at book five, but I’m sure I’ll discover added richness with a bit more background.
This is a very lively, clever cosy mystery. It’s densely plotted, and there really is so much going on you’re not sure what to expect next, or how it’s all going to tie up at the end.
A cat as a crime-fighter? Yes, it works. There’s no silly mawkishness over having an animal in a key role. Hitchcock is a very convincing feline sleuth!
There’s lot of humour, much of it tongue-in-cheek as there are eccentric characters and over-the-top action, but it all makes for wonderful entertainment.
Highly enjoyable and an absorbing read.

It's always a pleasure reading Sabrina and Hitchcock's adventure and this one didn't disappoint.
There are new and old characters, a lot of character development and a solid mystery that kept me guessing.
I'm wondering about some things that weren't clarified but they are minimal things and I thoroughly enjoyed this engrossing story.
I can't wait to read the next instalment in this series.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
