Wasn't able to concentrate on the read with all the words jumbled together. Too many page breaks seemingly like chapters but I don't think that was the case. I'm sure it might have been because it was a preview.
i always love helena huntings writing and this book did not disappoint. You get so immersed and caught up in the story and its hard to end
This preview left me wanting more! I zoomed through the preview of this awesome enemies to lover modern romcom...and then immediately bought the book to finish it! I loved their chemistry, I loved how it explored competing needs and interests, and I loved their windy journey to an HEA. So fun and I look forward to reading more from this formerly new to me author.
This is the first I’ve read anything by Helena Hunting, and as this was only an excerpt I’m moving the book up my tbr list so I can find out what happens! I love the premise of this book. A female entrepreneur going against her family wishes. And who doesn’t love cupcakes and booze? The description of her cupcake cafe is exactly the type of place I’d want to sit and read this book! This book has a main character you’re rooting for and a budding love/hate relationship with the guy next door. Sign me up!
I absolutely LOVED this preview! Helena is one of my favourite authors and I can't wait to read the whole book!
Helena Hunting is one of my favourite author. I love what she does with her books. Always a pleasure to read her books and 'Kiss My Cupcake' is just another lovely book. Love love love it.
I absolutely ADORED this preview. I've enjoyed some of Helena Hunting's other titles and I'm truly excited to read this one. I mean an enemies to lovers plot all surrounding a feud between a bar owner and a cupcake shop owner? Sign me up.
The banter was clearly top notch and I can't wait to read more about Blaire and Ronan!
Great preview, definitely going to give this book a go! This has quite a few enemies to lovers trope elements
(have I mentioned this is one of my favourites tropes in the whole, wide, bookworld?!!); so I'm really excited about this couple! #FingersCrossed
Going into this book I knew I would love it, but I didn’t know I would love it this much!
This book is definitely going to be one of my top five reads of this year. It starts as an enemies story between two business owners beside each other that are part of a competition for the best bar. It ends with them helping each other meeting each other‘s families and it’s just a wonderful story. This is what love stories were made from, this is the love story to end all others.
If you were the only read one romance a year, I would tell you to pick this up, it is worth your time! I feel like even if you’re not a romance reader you would love this book. It has wonderful pacing, it gives you point of views from both characters and just makes you love them both! At times you get mad at one character, but in the next chapter you’re back to loving them. Highly recommend this book!
This was fun, cute and light hearted, which fit my mood. One thing that really bothered me though, and I can't recall if this is typical of Hunting's writing, but I was given four chapters from Blaire's POV and then one from Ronan's. Why? Why have such an imbalance in the perspectives?? Hunting set up Ronan so much in those first few chapters that I really struggled to shift my thinking when we were suddenly put into his perspective.
But the story was fun, I did like their relationship dynamics and when they finally got to throwing down, it was great. I loved how bossy she was and flat out said what she wanted from him and he didn't shy away from the talk. Her family is cookoo and I want no part of that forever. But his family is real sweet and I loved his relationship with Gramps.
I will say that epilogue killed my buzz a bit. I really could have done without it. Also, I don't know Hunting's relationship with Seattle, so I'm not sure how familiar she is with the city, but it's like she picked the name out of a hat. It could have been Anytown, North America and the story would have been the same. There wasn't any atmosphere build up. I am disappointed in that, because when you set a book in my hometown, I want it to feel at least a bit like Seattle, but it doesn't feel like any attempt was made.

I flew through this book in a day; it was exactly what I was looking for when I picked it up. I love Helena’s books; her writing never fails to make me laugh and give me ALL the butterflies, and Kiss My Cupcake was no exception. I had a big smile on my face the whole time I was reading.
Highlights:
Opposites attract and enemies to lovers with dual POV; tension and chemistry is on point
Ronan, #bookboyfriend material here. He’s a hot, bearded lumberjack who is a family guy and particularly close with his adorable grandpa.
Blaire is a badass heroine: strong, independent and career driven, she goes after what she wants.
Supporting characters: Blaire and Ronan’s family dynamics added another great layer to the story; the dinner scene with Blaire’s family was perfectly hilarious
Conflict resolution: you need conflict in a story, but I love that these two communicated and didn’t rush to judgement (aka acted like the 30 year old adults they were)
This is the perfect rom com to pull you out of a reading slump or just make you smile (and leaving you with a cupcake craving)!
A great teaser of what's to come in this wonderful romcom from Helena Hunting! I can't wait to read the full book and fall for the characters.
This is such a fun book! I absolutely related to Blair. She is my type of go-getter with lots of ambition and organization, combined with loyalty and kindness. But I also fell hard for Ronan. He defies the hipster stereotype she thinks he fits. This book follows the classic enemies to lovers trope. They open competing businesses (hers a cupcake and cocktail cafe that I really want to visit and his a bar with axe throwing). The enemies part is never really mean-spirited. It's amusing.
I laughed out loud. I giggled. I have no idea when I last giggled, but this book made me. Between their verbal sparring and the social media posts that end each chapter, there's a lot to delight in. This is the perfect read for when you want a book that just makes you happy. In the midst of all the crazy happening in the world right now, I am so glad I read this book.
It was smart, sweet, and sexy. I loved it! The banter between the two main characters was wonderful. I definitely recommend this book and this author.
If you liked You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle I think you might like this book. It's another enemies to lovers fueled by pranks initially. It has a great family values back story and the relationship progresses naturally. It was cute.
CW: family death, adultery, body shaming,
A great tease for a fun book! Thanks for the opportunity to get a quick, early glimpse at this fun title!
I received a copy of the preview - I LOVE Helena Hunting books and will be purchasing this one to read in full!
A cute, quirky introduction to what is seemingly a delightful read. I will definitely be reading the rest of this confectionary gem.
Helena Hunting has done it again with a smart enemies to lovers book. The chemistry between these two is undeniable. A must read for all. Thank you NetGalley for a preview of this book it was enough to get me reading the whole book in a weekend.
Ummm yes please, give me more!!! On my way to Amazon to buy the full book right now! You can always lure me into a book or a series with a good bakery theme and setting.
