The preview for Kiss My Cupcake pulled me right on in!

Blaire is trying to get a cocktail cafe/bakery called Buttercream and Booze off the ground. Our love interest is a hot lumberjack type (Ronan) who's starting an axe-throwing bar next door. Blaire's tongue-in-cheek comments actually made me laugh, and I love a good enemies to lovers story.

I'm a little dubious as to her backstory - Blaire has a trust fund, and after dropping out of culinary school her parents paid for her to spend a year in Paris? Yet she's not on the best terms with them? I imagine we'll learn more about her relationship with her family/money in the rest of the book... which I'll be reading, because now I need to watch Blaire and Ronan get together already!

Thank you NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to preview the first 4 chapters.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first four chapters of Kiss My Cupcake. The first four chapters are filled with witty banter and a tension filled dynamic between the main character, Claire and her next door business rival, Ronan, which works effectively. Their chemistry is intense and electric. Because of the fun and easy to digest writing style I found it enjoyable learning about both characters, their motives, emotional states and their passions. I cannot wait to read this book in its full form.

I love the concept of this story of a cupcake baker passionately trying to increase her business, while trying not to kill her next door business neighbor, who she describes as a sexy “lumberjack.” Both characters are stubborn and reluctant to compromise. I am curious to see where their story goes.

I received an eArc of the first four chapters of Kiss My Cupcake from the publisher and Netgalley.

This is the second novel to me by Helena Hunting, the first novel was Meet Cute but it's not good as i expected.
I love the idea of this book because i love Baking so much and i hope to open my shop one day.
This novel is stunning and veey different than any novel Helena wrot, I wish that i have all the novel not only 4 chapters to read.

I loved Helena Hunting's Meet Cute and I love the enemies to lovers trope but...I'm not sold on this yet. It seems to be a lot of Blaire flipping a lid and Ronan mostly just like "wait, what?" Nothing he's done has seemed particularly underhanded for her to go from chill to batsh*t crazy in 2 seconds. I know she's got a lot on her plate to make sure her shop is a success so that's stressing her out and all. Because I loved her previous novel and this trope, I'll pick up a fully copy when available, but it's definitely not these first 4 chapters that have convinced me to read it all.

I loved this book. Ronan and Blaire are so cute and I can't wait to read more of their story. Helena always writes the most sexy and growly guys. Love her books!

Thank you netgalley for a copy of this preview. Only being able to read 4 chapters was a tease! I will definitely be preordering this book! I loved the banter between the characters and I can’t wait to watch the competitiveness continue on between Ronan & Blaire. I love the idea of a social media influencer hosting a contest and Ronan and Blaire going head to head. I’m 100% ordering this book right now!

Thank you to NetGalley for an excerpt of this book in exchange for my honest review. The preview looks really cute, with fun characters.
Who doesn't love a book about buttercream frosting, lemon cake, and maple bacon smokey-sweet cupcakes! Throw in the cute lumberjack opening the axe-throwing bar next door, and a bit of (hopefully) romance, and this book has the makings of a winner.

This seems lika an excellent start to a book.I love their first meeting. I have read Helena Hunting before and have an excellent track record with her. So, I'll not be surprised if I love this book.

Blaire reads as a fantastic and relatable character in a way that's bound to make you laugh. I also admire her for going after her dreams and not giving a shit about what people think.

We don't get to know Ronan Knight that much in this preview but what we do get to know is that he's funny, hot and a grade A prankster.

I think this book is gonna be the perfect rom-com to get lost in with some great laugh out loud moments.

I was sent an advance preview of this book by netgalley in exchange for an honest review, and I seriously can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of it!

Blaire is a trained chef turned cupcake baker who is opening her first shop, Buttercream and Booze, (cupcakes and mixed drinks, what’s not to love?) but the ax throwing bar next door is also newly opening its doors. The two shop owners get off on the wrong foot and engage in a hilarious prank war against each other.

So far, the book has been super fun, and I’m looking forward to reading the rest!

This serves just a little bit of sugar and spice, enough to make you want to read the book.
I also love that battle lines have been drawn.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.

I haven’t read any of Helena Hunting but after seeing the reviews I was really pleased to read this preview and it didn’t disappoint! I devoured it quickly and enjoyed the introductions to the characters and the setting up of a new business. The cafe sounds like the perfect place to hold a book club!
Blair is a little spoilt and uptight but I think her friends keep her grounded, and if the relationship with Ronan is going where we think it’s going then I think his cheeky prankster ways will help to chill her out!
I would definitely read the rest of this book.

I love the premise in this! Battling storefront neighbors? Sure! Sounds fun! Blair is kind of an uptight sort of lady. Ronan is a fun-loving prankster man. I grabbed this preview because I read and liked her Good Luck Charm novel. Reading this preview was pretty similar in style to that other novel, This is going to be an enemies-to-lovers book.

Blair is uptight. Doesn't seem to like pranks, can't stand her store neighbor. Mostly doesn't swear (instead says "heck", "freaking", etc) except for when she does. Actual swearing makes her sound more like an adult, and it doesn't jar me from the story as much as the not-swearing does.

Ronan is fun! I like him a lot already. He pulls pranks on Blair. Wears a lot of plaid. Axe throwing - yes please! I honestly think Ronan is going to be the ticket to pulling this book through. I will be picking this title up for Ronan alone. By the end of the review chapter 3, I was hooked on how this is going to play out!

Helena Hunting has been on my long to read list for a long time. A Facebook friend promotes all of her releases heavily, and several have intrigued me. I completely understand after reading this excerpt. Not only do I need the rest of this story, but I need to read all of her books.

This was a shot preview, so I can write a review. But I really loved Meet Cute, I will love this one two.

Review of four-chapter teaser. The cupcakes sound delicious, and the stress and strains of opening a new business are well-described.

I found it difficult to empathize with the lead female character. Blaire seems privileged, combative, hyper-sensitive, and whiny. The author's intent may be to show her growth during the book, but during the first four chapters, there was little that made me want to spend time with Blaire. The lead male character was two-dimensional - a good-looking guy who shows interest with juvenile pranks and teasing. Their banter was jarring and uncomfortable.

From these few chapters, I probably would not continue reading - but the cupcakes do sound delicious!

Many thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is my kind of cupcake!
Thank you NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to preview the first 4 chapters.

I am desperate to read more of this. It was such a good teaser, I cannot stop thinking about what happens next. I am so on edge, I  am on my way to preorder this book. Like RIGHT THIS MOMENT.

The book title seems to be suitable for the story within the covers. It is about Blaire who is following her dream and opening her storefront selling original cupcakes and drinks in unicorn-shaped glasses. To make her life not so easy, she finds out (in a not so pleasant way) that there is a pub opening right next door. Of course, the owner of the pub is a super sexy but extremely annoying guy named Ronan who happens to bring the worst out of her. So that’s how their enemies to lovers trope start.

I love how quirky and cute the heroine is. I love the annoying and creative neighbor, who definitely knows how to flirt (unfortunately the heroine is too riled up to notice it). I am looking forward to reading how they hate and love and hate each other. I noticed that each chapter starts with Blair’s name on top of it, so fingers crossed, that there will be chapters from Ronan’s POV as well. I would love to read what he thinks about all this.

As a cherry on top of the cupcake is bright-colored super cute cover. Now I really need to find some cupcakes to eat.

These simple covers with the bright colours are becoming popular at the moment and they definitely do catch the eye. But what about what's within the pages? This was a perfect example of a book that I should read before simply just buying because of its cover. Surprisingly, this one took me a little while to get into. I don't think the writing style was the write style for me, as it was this that originally made it had for me to get into the story. I couldn't really connect to the character and therefore the story and would've simply have been a book that would've either have stayed on my shelf for a while, or one that I would've eventually have gotten rid of. I had to push myself just to finish the sampler I had, thanks to NetGalley, so that does not scream good things for me about the reading the rest of the book.
