Great ideas for us to come out of our comfort zone and reach out to others. A book filled with recipes and such that will make you want to host and have people gather in your living room. A book that wants to help us connect when so many are lonely.

This book breaks down hospitality and having a hospitable heart in such a great way. With tips on inviting others into our home and life to love them and allow them to see Jesus through us and tons of great recipes, Karen Ehman shared her experiences on having a hospitable home.
I truly enjoyed reading Reach Out Gather In and I am excited to apply what I’ve learned to everyday life. I’ve always wanted my home to be a place where everyone feels welcome, and I believe it’s possible now after reading the tips Karen goes through in this book.
I love how real Karen is in her writing, and sharing her personal experiences. It really brings the book to another level as we read about hospitality, but also about someone who brings it to life. After reading this book I know that even though I’ve never met Karen, I would be welcomed with open arms at her dinner table. And that’s the kind of Christ Like love I want to be an example of.
I really have enjoyed reading this book by Karen Ehman. So often I feel like I am not a good enough cook/baker to host a meal or afternoon coffee get together or that my house is not clean enough or furniture is not new enough to welcome people in. Karen shares how we can reach out to others and how we can make people feel loved and welcomed in our home and lives. It isn't the best of cooks or houses but it is the "home" and person we are that make others feel loved and cared for. So, find some new friends and "gather in" and make them feel welcome and cared for.
I enjoyed Karen Ehman's book Reached Out, Gather In. I loved how she looked at hospitality through the Bible and brought it into the current way of life. I have learned that you do not have to set up an elaborate dinner and a clean house to be open to hospitality. Sharing the love and fellowship is more important than having a spotless house. This opens many doors to showing the love of the Lord.
Hospitality, humor, and recipes, what more could you ask for in a book. Karen has a way of writing that makes you feel like you are sitting with her around a table, having a great cup of coffee and talking about life.
This book helped me to understand how I can have my home be more welcoming to others. I am excited to put into practice what I have learned and trying out some of those awesome recipes!
