I forgot to post a review here, but I do it directly to Goodreads, so I'm going to post the link. However, I miust say that this isn't my fav from Sarah, which doesn't meant that is bad, just that I can put this with other titles similars I read other time
Elsie, a vampire, meets Jimmy, a werewolf, at a bar one night. They instantly hit it off, sharing their unconventional lifestyles. Jimmy helps her stay away from the sun while Elsie looks after him in his wolf form. They have a hilarious relationship, filled with jokes about blood and dogs.
This is such a clever graphic novel. There were so many jokes about vampires and werewolves. Jimmy overheard Elsie saying that she likes dogs, which makes him start talking to her. Elsie would joke about the ex boyfriends she killed. It was often dark humour but it was very funny.
Some of the jokes were in the illustrations. Jimmy was tempted to chase squirrels when they went out for walks. Elsie couldn’t see her reflection in the mirror while getting dressed. These were the realistic parts of day to day life that a vampire or werewolf would deal with if they were real.
I loved this clever and funny graphic novel!
Thank you Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved Fangs! A 300+ year-old vampire and a werewolf start dating and fall in love. These slice of life comics are adorable and fun. If you need a fantastic and delightful graphic novel to brighten your October, pick up Fangs now!
A cute, fast read about the budding romance between a werewolf and a vampire. Full of vignettes, Sarah's unique humor, and relatable relationship woes.
Sarah Anderson has always been funny with her Sarah Scribbles series and this is just another facet of that humor. Not to be looked at as a full story with plot but rather fun little comics that offer glimpses into the life of a werewolf and his vampire girlfriend with the same kind of humor you have come to expect from Sarah. and puns, so many puns.
Sarah Anderson is best known for her Sarah’s Scribbles web comics, where a big-eyed, spiky-haired version of herself deals with introversion, anxiety, and the vagaries of modern life in a humorous, relatable way. Those strips are the exact sort of thing that people love to share on social media. When I heard about her new book, Fangs, I was intrigued because it sounded so different from her oftentimes silly work in Sarah’s Scribbles.
However, it turns out that Fangs doesn’t go that far afield. I’d assumed that it was a longer story, but it’s actually a collection of another webcomic. Although the art style and main characters are very different from Sarah’s Scribbles, the strips in Fangs are still one-page slice-of-life jokes and observations.
The stars of the strips in Fangs are a couple: Elsie the vampire and Jimmy the werewolf. They meet, they do couple things, and sometimes there are jokes about vampires or werewolves. That’s it! There isn’t any kind of developing story or anything. Some of the strips are literally just a picture of them hanging out being a couple, drinking tea and reading.
I know there is a market for this sort of thing, of course. People love to write fan-fiction about their favorite characters falling in love and experiencing no trauma or strife whatsoever. This collection sort of feels like that concept distilled into comic form: what if a vampire and a werewolf dated, got really comfortable, loved each other, and there was absolutely no conflict or danger? Personally, I find that kind of boring.
Perhaps I would have been more forgiving of this collection if there was an overarching story, or if the individual strips were funnier. Instead, the best I can say about this book is that I like the art, and it was occasionally funny, maybe a quarter of the time. I think I read the whole thing in fifteen minutes, to be honest.
Fangs is one of those books where the more I thought about it, the less I liked it. I don’t think collecting these strips does them any favors. They just feel more insubstantial when you have them together in one place.
This was a fantastic book! I loved watching Elsie and Jimmy meet and fall in love over the course of the book. It was so great, I loved it. I would highly recommend checking it out!
Squee! Oh my gosh, so cute! Elsie, a 300 year old vampire in a 26 year old body meets a werewolf named Jimmy, and they fall into the most adorable love ever. I don't want to describe any of it because it will spoil the fun, but there's lots of sweet moments that will give you the feels even if you're not a monster, and the dark, snarky humor will make you laugh. Also, Jimmy is totally swoonworthy. This is a quick read, but it's one you'll pick up again and again.

It turns out I'm a little late to the Sarah Andersen party, but I'm glad I arrived at all. This short collection of comics tells the hilarious and heartfelt story of a vampire and a werewolf finding love. 100%. a.5 star book! I laughed, I cried, I'll pick up more of her work.
It is a cute little book about romance of a vampire and werewolf. I enjoyed reading it. Wish the story was much longer.
This was a nice little switch up from the normal things I read. It was very well written and I enjoyed it immensely!! Highly recommend!
I adore this book. It caught my interest with a familiar locale—the Odditorium is a beloved haunt—but its adorable romance caught me hook, line, and sinker. I want more!
I unfortunately was having some tech issues and can’t access the protected pdf that I tried to download of this, so now I can’t read it. I’m sure it’s good, though! I’ve loved her other work.
Sarah Andersens "Fangs" is a great Graphic Novel about a female vampire and a male werewolf dating. It's great to see their quirks and needs an how they compromise for each other.
Had a nice time with this book!
I received a copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Pure joy reading this. It was such a comical take on a romance between a vampire and werewolf. They cracked me up with each turn of the page. I would definitely re-read this in October for a quick Halloween read.
Amazing! Attracted by the cover, I got the ARC from Netgalley and it was worth it! A super cute graphic novels, I read it in half an hour! A hilarious and warm story. A funny love story between Elsie the vampire and Jimmy the werewolf, and I want more were is the rest of the story....
When I first found this book, I thought to myself, “omg, a graphic novel about a vampire/werewolf romance? YES”. And the cover art was really selling me on the whole vibe of the book. Unfortunately, while the comics are kind of cute, I was pretty disappointed with it.
Serial comic bind-ups are pretty common these days, and I’ve read my fair share of them. I usually really enjoy them for what they are: cute, quick reads. However, this time I struggled with it. The story is, I suppose, trying to be cohesive and follow a timeline. However, I felt the story really lacked the emotional element to make me truly care about what I was reading. But each comic felt disconnected from the last in a way that stunted my reading experience.
The art is cute, if a little simplistic. The grey-scale did suit the story, in that these characters are morally grey and proud of it. Some panels relied on the art for comedy or cuteness rather than dialogue, and sometimes that really, truly worked. There were genuinely some panels that made me smile and amused me. But overall I was left feeling kind of meh about the whole thing. That’s not what Ii was hoping for.
A lot of people seem to love this book, but for me it was incredibly underwhelming. If you like Andersen’s comics, you still might enjoy this. Sadly, I did not enjoy it.
OH man, this was so, so good. Sarah Andersen shows the cute side of romantic love between a vampire and werewolf that is completely unlike anything she has done before. This is a mix of cute and hilarious in the best way possible.
Fangs is a graphical novel about love story between a werewolf and a vampire. They both meet at the bar and start to love one another. The novel plays with the vampire and werewolf stereotypes. A few situations between both of them made me smile. A cute, short and romantic graphic novel.
