Very fun! Personally wasn’t a huge fan of the plot it was really just lost meets Titanic but I did love Vida/Sal and will read if there happens to be more books.
This was such a beautifully written book. I could picture everything that was happening and I love that it was profound without having too much weight. I definitely recommend for those who enjoy historical fiction with a dash of drama.
I'm not a fan of this author's other works, but overall found Beautiful Wild to be an enjoyable read. There was nothing particularly wrong with the story, though I did find myself skimming the text at times (particularly on the island) and found the end to be thoroughly predictable, but this was a fun, light and easy read.
I was provided with an eARC of this book in exchange for a fair review.
I very much enjoyed this! If you are a fan of Anna's Luxe series, this will certainly be of interest to you. I did find that the story was less "deep" than that of the Luxe books, but I think part of that was because it is a standalone, and therefore has fewer pages to work with. That being said, the flavor was still there and the character development was excellent. It was interesting, intriguing, and well worth my time. I will almost certainly revisit it again in the future!
Beautiful Wild is a mixture of Titanic, Castaway and Anna's notorious Luxe series. It is filled with romance, adventure, a shipwreck and of course ball gowns with beautiful dresses! This book is about Vida Hazzard boarding the “Millionaire’s Ship of the West” in order to save her reputation by getting Fitzhugh Farrar to propose while aboard. On their journey, the ship sinks and strands several passengers on a remote island, to await rescue. While stranded, Vida finds that she is not only developing feelings for Fitz, but for his servant Sal as well! The big question now is, who will she choose?
This book was definitely a bit slower to start out with, but once it got going I couldn't put it down! I've always loved Anna's writing style, and definitely can say that this is filled with witty comments, romance and adventure. Anna did a fantastic job at keeping me on my toes, and making me unsure of who she was going to pick until the very end.
Can we also just take a moment to admire the cover? It is absolutely stunning and matches one of the dress descriptions perfectly! I can't wait to get a physical copy of this book to add to my collection!
Disclosure: I received a complimentary eARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes. I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for providing me this opportunity!
Anna Godbersen's Beautiful Wild is a cross between Titanic and Castaway. Vida Hazzard boards the “Millionaire’s Ship of the West with one goal in mind. Get Fitzhugh Farrar to fall in love with her ask her to be his bride. But when the ship sinks and she and some of the survivors land on an island. Vida starts having feelings for "A Nobody" named Sal. As the nights go on she has to figure out what's really important at the end of day money or love?? This is book is a little slow in the beginning but if you stick with it you won't be sorry.
