This book was so cute! It was relatable and hilarious - I couldn't put it down! This was my first book from Lindsey Kelk and it will not be the last. This is a must-read for romcom fans!

Ros returns from three years abroad working in America. With no job she is forced to move back in with her parents, who it would appear have rediscovered themselves and their love for one another. As she catches up with her besties, Sumi, Lucy and Adrian she finds out how life has moved on in her absence. They no longer want to hang out in the comfy old pub that was their go to place when they shared a flat but now go to this swanky new bar - a place that Ros doesn’t immediately gel with and gets off on the wrong foot with the owner, John.

A group text sent out to all her contacts with her new number has massive connotations. The main one being that it reconnects her with the man who broke her heart before she moved to America.

I really did enjoy this book! I felt like the chemistry was a little off, and it became a little repetitive. Still liked it though!

What a fun book! I absolutely loved all of the humor and how well the story flowed. The writing is clever and characters well-developed. The ending couldn’t possibly have gone any better! I will definitely be looking for more books by Lindsey Kelk!
I highly recommend In Case You Missed It! Five stars from me!

Huge thanks to HarperCollins and NetGalley for allowing me the privilege of reading this book in advance.

When Ros comes home after spending 3 years away, she’s ready to pick back up exactly where she left off. But, it appears everyone important in her life has started to move on. An accidental mass text, gets her a response from her ex-boyfriend, who left her broken hearted before she left 3 years prior.

This is the first book I’ve read from Lindsey Kelk. While it flowed well and I read it pretty quickly, it felt like it sort of sizzled out. It is listed as a romantic comedy, and while there were definitely some parts that made me laugh, I feel as though this is more of a story about self discovery.

What I liked:
+Ros’s circle of friends and her parents, make for great supporting characters. All of them were so different in their own ways but they were great assets to the story line.
+The last 30% of the book or so, really picked up and made the story worth reading.
+Although I dislike that the story, in my opinion, is not listed in the correct genre, I did enjoy Ros’s journey through self discovery and finding her worth.

What I didn’t like:
+Ros being so hung up on her ex boyfriend, got too repetitive after awhile.
+There were a lot of references leading towards the reasons for Ros’s insecurity, that never got further explored. I feel like it was a missed opportunity by the author, to bring to light the importance of mental health, but instead it was hardly touched on.
+It was a quick and easy read, but there were no major climaxes, which made the storyline fall short.

This book is heartwarming and hilarious. Though it was a bit predictable it was still super enjoyable. I loved Ros and all of her friends and would love a prequel to see all the times they reminisce about. Ros' parents are hilarious and I can almost picture who would plat them in a movie. I recommend for anyone trying to get in a few more summer reads.

In Case You Missed It
By: Lindsay Kelk

In Case You Missed it is a quirky rom-com and an absolute delight. I literally LOL reading this one! The story begins with Ros, a podcast producer, moving back to the UK after her job abroad in US comes to an end. With no job to return home to, she is forced to move back in with her parents. Only to find out her Dad built her a room in a shed in the back yard. No, seriously! 😂 You see, her parents have been enjoying an empty nest, if you catch my drift. 🤢

Well, at least she has her friends right? Well, sort of. Ros is hoping to pick up right where things left off, only it seems everyone has moved on. Marriages, babies, jobs . . . They don’t even go to the same pub anymore. Instead a swanky bar, where she has an epic ‘meet cute’ with the new owner.

In an effort to find her footing, Ros sends out a mass text to all her phone contacts letting them know she’s back. This lands her new podcast job 👏 and a date with her former boyfriend. The one that got away. Or were all the things she remembered from before not what they seemed?

While, I loved how funny and cute this book was, I was hoping for a little more romance. This book seemed to focus more on friendships, and life in general. But fear not, you still will get your happily ever after. I just wished Ros wasn’t stuck on the past and could have paid better attention to what was right in front of her.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall, I really enjoyed this book and recommend it when you need a fun book and a good laugh. I read a lot of thrillers and this was the change of pace book I needed in-between. This is perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella and Beth O’Leary. Thank you to @harpercollins via @netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest opinion and review.

I found the storyline to be very predictable, one many has read from the romantic category. The story had its moments, but mostly fell flat for me. On a positive note, it's a light, easy read if you are into hearing the same story told by different characters.

The blurb for this book sounded great, but the story fell flat. I really wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't connect with Ros. There were some funny parts, but I ultimately didn't finish this. Many thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy but this just didn't work for me.

In Case You Missed It by Lindsey Kelk is a light and funny contemporary fiction novel. Ros returns to the UK after spending several years in the United States and struggles with nostalgia and wanting her life to return to how it was before she left, including rekindling a romance with her ex.

The pacing of this book was slow for me in the first half, but later it drew me in. I really liked John’s character and wish I had seen more of him throughout the book! I was glad to see that Ros underwent some growth and character development. I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary fiction.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this title in exchange for an honest review.

I finished In Case You Missed It last night - my first book by Lindsey Kelk - a book following the (mostly mis)adventures of Ros who hooks up again with an ex-boyfriend after three years away in Washington D.C. A second chance at big love? Or time to move on from him for good?

While I felt it took Ros a tad too long to work out the answer to this question - I still enjoyed this funny lighthearted British romcom. There were a couple of hilarious moments featuring Ros’ parents where I wanted to bleach out my eyes but also couldn’t stop laughing at the same time (it involved naked bodies and sushi >> #tb to Sex and the City). I also liked the diverse supporting cast of characters, in particular Ros’ friend Sumi who supported Ros through thick and thin. I think anyone can relate to this story about a girl trying to figure out what she wants from life.

In Case You Missed It by Lindsey Kelk, is my introduction to Ms. Kelk's writing, a delightful read.
Ros a 30 something young women, returns home to London, after three years stateside at what everyone believes was the dream job and adventure. In her absence, she discovers that her family and friends have moved on with their lives. Her parents have become empty nesters , who are rediscovering themselves. As a result they have remodeled their garden shed for Ros to live in temporarily.
Ros is reeling from recent changes, hoping to return to the "good old days" with her friends as a way to move forward. We all have nostalgia for our youth, and we often encapsulate the best parts of it, and dismiss the difficult aspects if we can. Ros realizes that what she remembers as the amazing past she was holding on to might not be the whole story. What she comes to discover is that she will need to look forward to find what she is looking for in order to be successful. This lighthearted romance with a twist of finding oneself is done in a funny and intelligent way. The characters are well developed, funny, intelligent, a good group to add some twists and enlightening moments along the way. I loved this read and recommend it to anyone that needs a bit touch of humor and love.

So fun and so lighthearted, with a main character you can truly relate to. Ros returns home to rural England from three years at a big job in the United States. She's lost her job, and is living in a "she shed" in her parents' backyard. She's trying to get her act together, and crosses paths with "the one who got away." Really enjoyed this and look forward to recommending it to readers who also enjoy Sophie Kinsella.

I've been a fan of Kelk's writing and books for a few years now. I was very excited to see this one coming out. This book did not disappoint. Kelk write a fun, lovable book. There's always some unexpected twists, likable and funny characters, romance, and just modern problems. Ros is a likable main character in some funny situations. I thoroughly enjoyed this and will continue to read (and love) Kelk's books.

I thought that this book had its moments. I found the basic plot/story appealing but this book failed to maintain my interest and I found myself having to return to it rather than just read through it. I have to say that I really didn't like Ros much. I thought that she was entirely too clueless, too self-centered and way too immature. She was supposed to be in her thirties but I felt she came across as maybe in her early twenties. Another problem I had was that even though this is clearly labeled as a rom-com, the romance was at best a secondary banana to Ros and her life drama. This is a very annoying trend this year and I do not like it and am very unhappy about it.

I have never read a Lindsey Kelk book before but I plan on reading more! In Case You Missed It was a wonderful story that I quickly made my way through. I loved the message of even though you may be down on your luck, you can still figure things out and start a new direction in life - even if you find yourself living in a shed in your parents' back yard. Ros was a funny and intelligent lead character that had you rooting for her the entire time. I have to say though - I wanted to know more about the character of John. There's got to be more to that story!

This is my first Lindsey Kelk book so I wasn't sure what to expect. Happily, I was not disappointed.

Ros is back from four years away to find everything has completely changed, and yet she longs for things to go back to the way they were. Including is her old boyfriend who is somehow back in her life. For good?

I really enjoyed reading this book. I love Ros and how conflicted she is. After being in the states for four years, she came back to find life moved on without her. She struggles with her parents who have moved her out to a shed in the backyard, she struggles with her friends' lives who have moved on and are happier than they were. And she struggles with her own heart. She has built her ex up on in her mind, and it might be the thing that makes her miss out on new romance.

This was such a fun story to read because we've all been there. We return to our childhood home remembering it to be exactly the same as when we left it, yet we are dismayed to find the slightest differences even after years away. I like how that came through in the story and how Ros had to accept that her past wasn't all she remembered it to be and how she had to embrace her future.

I love Ros's network of friends and how comfortable and lively they are. You could really feel their friendship through the page. And John is dreamy, and of course they don't like each other at first and that made me root for him all the more.

Overall it was a fun book that was easy to read.

This book was very Bridget Jones with a twist. I thought it was a quick fun read, but not something that stays with me or I just absolutely couldn’t get enough of.

In Case You Missed It by Lindsey Kelk follows Ros as she returns to her UK childhood home from America, with no job, no flat and an ancient phone. She misses the way her uni friends used to be and desperately wants to reconnect with her (asshole) ex-boyfriend. One promising, sent-on-a-whim group text can help Ros find just about everything she thinks she needs. Except, what if living in the past isn’t as great as it’s cracked up to be?

Here’s the thing: I wanted to love it. Ros has Bridget Jones levels of chaotic energy and poor decision making skills but the book lacks the charm and warmth necessary to make me like those things. It’s not a bad book by any means, but it didn’t draw me in at all (which I expect rom-coms to do, be that unfair or not), it took forever to get through, and I thought it wrapped up too quickly — the parts that I would’ve liked to explore more felt rushed. I did like the potential love interest, John, and wish we’d spent more time with him throughout the book, but honestly, most of this book’s plot has already left my head and I finished it yesterday, which is... not great.

I think I’d deem this a library read, since it’s conceivable to finish it within a few days, is warm-hearted at its core, and has a few funny moments in between.

Overall, not terrible, but I’ve read similar plots that were ultimately better. (Although as a movie, it’d probably be a solid one – ever feel like books are being written with a mind for movies rather than just being a book?)
