This was such a fun book! The characters were quirky and fun and actually had their own personalities! It was swoony and just wonderful!
I really enjoyed this one – it was a great story
I thought that it was well written with a good natural flow to it and it was packed with action and romance- the plot was great and it kept me hooked through to the last page. It was packed to the gills with testosterone
The characters were really good and worked well together, I loved the interaction, was great to be able to read a book with such strong and committed characters.
It is 5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended and a great read!!
I wanted to like this book so much, especially after reading the blurb and the excerpt, but it kind of fell short for me for several different reasons. There were so many characters to keep straight that I found myself confused at times and going back to see which character I was reading about. I also didn't "feel" the chemistry or sexual tension between the two main characters like I thought I would after reading the excerpt - I would have liked to had read how they came together and their connection from the beginning instead of the back and forth of the past and the present. It became a bit repetitive and the whole reason for what they were doing for the organization just became uninteresting. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
*Thank you to the author and Netgalley for providing me with this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review*
I honestly wished this book was better than it turned out to be. The blurb sounded amazing, and I was so excited for a mercenary/mob book but it just fell so so flat and become highly confusing.
Firstly the characters were okay in the beginning. I enjoyed their banter and the fierceness of our main female lead, Kylie. In a lot of mob related books the main protagonist is so out of the loop and doesn't have any sort of common sense but Kylie really defied that. The main male protagonist was really intriguing and sexy in the beginning, but he had absolutely no depth to him at all. I was just waiting for him to develop some sort of personality other than being horny all the time but it never came.
Another thing that also bothered me about the characters that bothered me is that their motives for their actions in the past and present were so weak. The organization that Kylie and Jaxon worked for also had a weak motive in their reasoning for even wanting to recruit Kylie in the first place. This was a recurrent theme throughout the novel in which everybody's motives were just off. The logic in Rogue was nonexistent especially the deeper you got into the book with the mystery. The mystery just became confusing and in the end it just seemed like no big deal. I think the author was just attempting to do too much and none of the aspects could have been truly explored making the logic extremely confusing.
Lastly, the plot and the writing were just not very good. There was a bit of steam in here which was fine but there was no sexual tension that built up between the characters, The steam started almost immediately and would sometimes happen 2/3 times in just one chapter! The plot was extremely repetitive in the beginning and it was just the same thing over and over again.
This book had a lot of promise but it was just too all over the place and repetitive for my taste. The characters lacked depth, there was no logic, the plot was repetitive, and there was no build up between the two main romantic interests making me not care if they're together or not. As I said I think this is just a case of trying to do too much leading to a lackluster novel that is underdeveloped.

I was really excited to read Rogue. The blurb and the cover really sucked me in, but unfortunately the story fell flat for me. The flashbacks/time jumps were confusing in the beginning, and on top of that all the similar character names made the story confusing as well. It just wasn’t what I expected from a hitman/mercenary book, which was a bummer. I ended up skimming through a good chunk of it, especially over the sex scenes. It had a lot of potential, but just didn’t hit the mark.
It took me a few days to read this. It had potential with the Mr. & Mrs. Smith vibe going on. The time flashbacks weren’t done very well- You had Shelby which was the past and Paris which was present day.
The present made out like jaxson and Kylie had a long deep relationship before the present but it really wasn’t and if it was it got skipped over. A lot of the names would throw me off as they were so similar- Declan & Diego, Franco & Francis. It can also get confusing with what the hell is even going on. The plot fell big time with them being hit man/ spies. They used their real names and Kylie was shocked they used it on social media. Didn’t know criminals used social media to call out targets.
Kylie made out like she could fight... yeah I honestly don’t know how she was even alive! Oh wait yeah I do Jaxson. She was not spy killer material at all and seemed to be a weak character. Ball buster... ok🙄
The only reason it got two stars is cause the Paris parts were ok with the cat and mouse. Sex scenes sucked so they got skimmed. More could have been added if she wasn’t eating or buying coffee all the time.
Rogue was fun fast read! The first few chapters were a little confusing in establishing the plot, but then the writing style really hit its stride. I though the duel timelines worked really well in building tension and the characters were well thought out. Mannon has set up for the next book in the series and I will certainly check it out.

Not my cup of tea..... the blurb sounded good but the book fell flat for me. I ended up skimming almost half the book. Just not for me.
