I love Danielle Steel for her writing of wealth and opulence. It's A great escape. Sam and Coco have been friends for years, despite their different upbringings and dreams for the future. Coco continually finds herself attracted to flash over substance, while Sam settles for the ordinary to keep the peace. Their lives go through many ups and downs, but their friendship never wavers even across the miles. Can they both find what they're looking for while keeping their dreams intact?
I love reading Danielle Steel books she is a wonderful writer. If you want to read a great book give this one a chance. I love the her writing style she always uses when she writes her books. This book has it all with sadness and happiness. The ending of the book was not what I thought it would be .
This book frustrated me so much! The plot mainly revolved around the main character Coco and her repeated terrible romantic decisions. I found Coco to be naive and weak with zero respect for herself. Her friend Sam's decisions weren't much better. Then they would judge each other's bad decisions. One part that bothered me was I didn't like the use of the word "cripple" when referring to someone who is emotionally damaged. Overall, I was just not a fan of this book.
Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for this DRC.
When I think of women's fiction, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels. This is a perfect book to snuggle up with on any day.
All that glitters by Danielle steel
A special thanks to Random House-Ballantine books and NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have been reading Danielle Steel books for 25 years and this is the worst I have ever read. If I wasn’t listening to an audiobook I would’ve quit along time ago. The book is about Coco and her best friend Sam and all the trials and tribulations that they go through in their early 20s from parents passing to marriages, divorces and break ups only for them to end up together and the last five pages of the book. I felt like the characters had no depth and no personal growth between them. I’m usually pretty good about picking the things that I know I’ll like but this one I thought for sure I would and did not.
Danielle Steel was introduced to me when I was in high school by my mom. I have read a lot of her books - and have always loved them. This one focuses on Nicole “Coco” Martin who was raised by wealthy parents. She has been given opportunities that some may only dream of. Her world changes just as Coco is about to graduate college. Coco’s parents are dead and now she is alone in the world. She has a trustee to oversee her finances.
However. Coco is a bit naive . She is beautiful, has money and this attracts the wrong type of person. I enjoyed following Coco's story as she navigates her new reality.
This author has written so many books. I am so thankful to have been able to read a copy of this book through NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.
You know what you are getting when you read a Danielle Steel novel, this book is not exception. This book felt a little off for me though. I didn't find Coco the main character very interesting. She is incredibly spoiled and didn't really hold my attention.
I've been a big fan of Danielle Steel since the 80's and she still continues to write great stories!!
This one is no exception! This is a fun quick read with a happy ending!
All That Glitters by Danielle Steel is yet another romance from this long standing author. Anyone following my reviews has probably heard me say before that I’ve been picking these new books from Danielle Steel probably more out of nostalgia than anything else as her style never changes and it isn’t exactly my favorite but sometimes I find a winner in the story she has crafted too.
All That Glitters introduces readers to Nicole “Coco” Martin who was raised by wealthy parents and given all the opportunities in the world. Coco is a bit naive but with a good work ethic despite being raised with wealth. Just as Coco is about to graduate college and begin her career she gets a phone call that rocks her world. Coco’s parents were killed and now she is alone in the world. Coco’s left with a trustee handling her new wealth and set out to begin her career and perhaps find love.
The first thing I always warn readers after finishing one of Danielle Steel’s novels is that she has a style that can feel a bit like an info dump to speed through introductions or time jumps in a story. I’ve gotten used to this style and hope that the characters, settings and situations will win me over because I do find that sometimes I do love them, this time was a bit up and down while reading. Coco makes some really dumb moves as she navigates her new life but I was also engaged in finding out how her story would turn out. In the end I would stay this latest romance rated at about three and a half stars for me, worth the read but not a favorite.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
I said it once and I will say it again, although the storylines in Danielle Steel’s books are pretty predictable, they are always 100% enjoyable. Here we have a wonderful story of a wealthy girl who soon realizes that wealth is not all there is to life. We embark on a journey with her of adversity to that she overcomes in the end. Chef’s kiss to Danielle Steel for cooking up yet another wonderful book.
A classic Danielle Steel, rich girl loses her parents, moves, and falls in love. But is he really the perfect man? It’s a fun, quick read as long as you don’t expect too much.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
Coco Martin is lives a charmed life as an only child. She and her best friend, Sam are planning their futures when her parents are killed in an attack. As Coco continues on life's journey without her family, she learns hard lessons through relationships with various suitors. Eventually, she discovers her true self and anything worth having is usually right within her grasp the whole time.
Devastated by he parents' death, Coco has to learn how to be self sufficient. Raised in a lap of luxury, she moves overseas to begin her own life. Will she be able to pick up the pieces of her former life or remain too shattered by her loss to start again.
Thank you to #NetGalley for allowing me to read the early edition of #AllThatGlitters in exchange for an honest review. I am almost excited when Danielle Steel publishes a new book.
All That Glitters is everything you expect and want from a Danielle Steel novel. There is love, loss, betrayal, fabulous lifestyle, friendship and horrific life choices. If you love Danielle Steel's books as an escape, this one will not disappoint. You may not love Coco, but you will be turning pages quickly to find out what happens next in her life. Read this between heavier books or on a beach vacation, but definitely read it.
The publisher made a copy of this book available for review via Netgalley. This is my honest opinion.
As much as I love Danielle Steel novels, this one did not do it for me. The main character is EXTREMELY frustrating and makes many, many poor decisions. Although the book is under 300 pages, it felt 10 years long.
I have been reading Danielle Steel for years, and always consider her books to be comfortable must reads for when I need a break after an intense title, or just a familiar favorite.
While at times terribly predictable and frustrating as Coco would make the SAME bad decisions over & over, it was all worth it for the friendship between her & Sam. I think sometimes you just need to hear someone else make all the bad choices & end up with a happily ever after to have more hope for yourself - that’s the point of an author you are familiar with and love, right?!
Coco and Sam have been best friends since childhood. When her parents die in a tragic accident, he's by her side. She endures grief that threatens to overtake her life.
This is the story of her life, the ups , downs and in-between. There are moments of great love, but the story was quite depressing. Sam is always available to cheer her up. The ending was a surprise but it was the sAving grace for this book.
I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.
Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book. This was classic Danielle Steel. Beautiful characters, tragedy, access to way too much money, only the most attractive and richest people fall for each other. This was super predictable and super shallow.
Another great read by Danielle Steel! Everyone of her books pulls on the heart. Loved how Coco finally finds love like her parents had. The friendship between Coco and same was very uplifting watching the journey.. I highly recommend this story.
I am usually a Danielle Steel fan, but this one was CRINGE worthy. I've been reading her books long enough to know what to expect, and this formula followed a similar suit. But it felt like reading a soap opera, and not in a good way. The main character, Coco just keeps making stupid decision after stupid decision, there's child cancer, cheating, and just a bunch of nonsense throughout the book. I didn't really like any of the characters and frankly didn't care about the story. Not one of her better works.
