Thank you to Netgalley, Random House Ballantine and the Author Danielle Steel for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book had the perfect title which fit really well with the story.
Another strong but young female protagonist who overcomes tragedy, bad love choices and maternal pain only to find what she was looking for all along was at arms length all along.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

All that Glitters by Danelle Steel. The story had so many not so good things happen but I loved the ending.

This book was the typical Danielle Steel plot with female character making bad choices and then having a happy ending. I like her books that have more of a complicated plot and developed characters. I found the main character whiny.

This was a great escape novel, it was light and a quick read. I enjoyed reading of CoCo’s story even though I didn’t like some of the decisions that she made along the way.
Many thanks to Random House publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

All That Glitters is a heartbreaking tale of a young woman dealing with the loss of her parents and learning to live again. I really felt for Coco when she lost her parents and while her life went through many ups and downs it made her stronger. This is an emotional read and it reminds us of how our lives can change in an instant.

This story is full of glitz and glamour that spans from London to New York to Paris and back.. Reading this book you can practically taste the ritz, the richness, and the immersion into life in the glittery fast lane. The lead character, Coco, starts out living a charmed life with two doting parents and she has everything she needs. And more. Then tragedy strikes when both of her parents are killed. Through the unbearable grief, Coco must navigate through her feelings and find her way. One thing leads to another and she is drawn in by different men who seem appealing at first but the end result leaves holes in her finances and in her heart. Through all the ups and downs there is one constant in her life. She and her childhood friend Sam keep in close touch and support each other as best they can given their very different life circumstances. Coco seems to be looking for love in all the wrong places while Sam has married and has an Orthodox Jewish wife and children and is struggling to keep up with it all. Will Coco continue to go aimlessly from one bad relationship to another? Will Coco and Sam continue to keep in touch? Will Coco ever discover the way to true happiness and peace? You'll have to read this book to find out! Although I feel like there are many books by this author that are more gripping, fans of Danielle will enjoy this heartwarming story and satisfying ending.

All That Glitters by Danielle Steel is a touching story. I have been reading Danielle Steel novels since I was twelve years old (I was bored). I amazed at the variety and types of stories that Danielle Steel produces. All That Glitters tells us about Nicole “Coco” Martin and her best friend since the fourth grade, Samuel Stein. Despite opposition from his Jewish parents, the pair have remained close friends. While Coco’s parents are kindhearted, loving, and supportive with her, Sam’s parental units have certain expectations of Sam as well as being judgmental and religious. Coco is our central character who is devastated when her parents die in a terrorist bombing in Cannes. She inherits her parents’ entire estate which leaves her vulnerable. Coco is left anchorless which has her searching for someone to fill the gap. She is attracted to bold men who are flashy. Coco has relationships with various men who teach her a variety of different lessons. Some of the experiences are good, but, oftentimes, they are painful and upsetting. We get to see that we do not always get it right the first time. Some people are lucky and find true love right out of the gate. Others must go through a few bad eggs before coming upon the right life partner. The hard part is picking up the pieces, dusting ourselves off, and moving forward having learned from our mistakes. I like how close Sam and Coco were throughout the book. They were there for each other through the good and the bad. Their unbreakable bond helped them get through the grief and heartache. I thought All That Glitters was well-written, with interesting characters, and it moved at a steady pace. This is a book that I did not want to rush through. I found myself wanting to shake Coco at times and yell at her, but I wanted to enjoy every single page. I enjoyed the descriptions of the London and the cozy house Coco lived in when she first moved to England. The author captured Coco’s lifestyle and took us from New York to London, Frances, and beyond. All That Glitters is a moving story with handsome homes, glitzy guys, gratifying jobs, terrible loss, devastating defeat, and a firm friend.

That you Netgalley for the chance to review this book. I have not read Danielle Steele in many years. I enjoyed the chance to escape the crazy world and live in another one. Although there were several tragedies that were sad, and I had a feeling where this novel was going, it was still a light read, which was good for the times. The book mainly follows Coco, and how she dealt with major life challenges. She was frustrating at times in how she feel for men completely wrong for her, but she was young. It was an easy read that overall I enjoyed.

Her parents loved her and gave her some great opportunities in life. When tragedies strikes, Coco finds herself drowning in grief and trying to find her new normal. This takes her on a journey of self-discovery where she finds herself making choices, some good and some bad, but all her own. Through the loss and close friendships, she makes her way forward. All That Glitters by Danielle Steel was a heart-wrenching and heartwarming read with so many feels.

In All That Glitters, Coco and Sam have been best friends forever, and are drawn together even more strongly as they grow up and experience triumphs and tragedies in their lives. They were enjoyable characters and I liked reading about their relationship and their various experiences.

I found the writing to be a little bit redundant in places....the author would say something and then say the same thing, slightly differently, in the next sentence or paragraph. It was a bit distracting but did not interfere too much with my enjoyment of the story.

This was an easy read and an enjoyable one. Reading about the experiences of the characters over the years took me away from my present circumstances and was a pleasant escape.

Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Another good story by Danielle Steel. Although there were portions that seemed predictable based on her writing style. The main character of Coco was sympathetic and at times frustrating in her decisions. But as in real life missteps lead us to the right ones. Overall I would recommend this book as I did enjoy it.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest opinion. I voluntarily read it and any thoughts and opinions are mine.

Coco has lived a privileged life, raised by her very wealthy and very loving parents she is finishing up her senior year at NYU determined to be a journalist. In the flash of an eye, it is taken away and both of her parents are gone. Struggling to get her grounding we follow Coco as she makes some wonderful and poor decisions. Falling in and out of love with the right and wrong person. The common theme throughout the book is the strong friendship of Coco and her best friend Sam. It grounds the books and reminds us of why some friends become family.

Coco Martin, 21, is a beautiful yet modest young woman. She is a journalism major at Columbia University and looking forward to a summer internship at Time magazine. Coco’s best friend is Sam Stein. His Jewish parents don’t approve of their friendship because they want him to marry a Jewish girl.

An only child, Coco loves spending time with her parents, Tom and Bethanie. They are off to France for their annual summer vacation. A few days later, they are killed in a terrorist attack. Shocked, Coco is thankful for her father’s partner, Ed and executor of the estate, to help with funeral arrangements.

Sometime after the funeral, Ed starts to take Coco out to dinner which angers Sam as he thinks Ed is hitting on her. Shortly afterward, they start an affair which she finally breaks off.

When Coco inquires about an internship with Time, they offer her one in London. She is thrilled and loves her job. She meets Nigel who takes her to parties and house parties with posh people. Knowing he has no money, she marries him anyway after he signs a prenup. But, their marriage doesn’t work out they divorce shortly after she realizes she’s pregnant. But Nigel isn’t willing to go easily especially now that he knows how much money Coco has. Will she find happiness in her life?

This story builds even more from this place but I don’t want to add any more spoilers. I enjoyed reading how Coco grows and matures. Yes, she has more men in her life than one would think, but that’s not for me to judge. I like the Danielle Steel way of telling a story and even though she repeats a lot in her books, she does create a great tale. I can certainly recommend this book. Enjoy!

All That Glitters by Danielle Steel is a fun, if predictable novel centered on the life of Coco Martin, a young woman with wealthy parents, although not really part of the social scene. They were preparing for their annual summer trip to Europe; a trip Coco with not join this year as she had just started an internship with TIME magazine. She had just finished her junior year at Columbia and was looking forward to her career in journalism. Her best friend since childhood was Sam Stein, who was as different from Coco as humanly possible. He was Jewish, studying at NYU in finance. Her parents didn't cares; his parents didn't believe they were friends and nothing more: a male and female? She saw her parents off and prepared for work the next day. Then came the startling news: there had been a terrorist attack in France. Many killed and injured. Then came the bad news: her parents had been killed, part of a little more than a dozen Americans affected. She immediately went into a tailspin; quit her internship, dropped out of school and vegetated. Sam did what he could. It was a year later when her boss at TIME offered her a job in London. She would be perfect. Plus, she could afford to live there. The salary offered wouldn't stretch that far for most. She loved her job. She met a man, minor aristocracy. They fell in love and married and thus began years of heartbreak and trauma.

This was fairly predictable, though eminently readable, novel, cataloguing Coco's relationships with men. The death of her parents had left her alone and she was constantly searching for the love she missed. Sam remained her steadfast friend, through her marriage, and his. Coco was strong but insecure at the same time. She grew into herself professionally, although not in journalism. She was at Sam's side when his father died and he was forced to take over a business he didn't want. It was an emotional read as Coco traversed the ups and downs in her life, going from man to man. The reader's heart bled as one thing after another colored Coco's life, changing her but never really helping her to grow, emotionally. It was a moving book; despite the fact the ending was clear early on. I enjoyed it.

All That Glitters is the newest release by author Danielle Steel. This is a story about two best friends...Coco and Sam...and the amazing friendship they share through the years.

Coco Martin s a journalism major at Columbia University. Normally she would be going with her parents on their annual summer trip to Europe, but she was just awarded a summer internship at Time Magazine, and is unable to go with them. She is completely okay with staying in New York because the opportunity she has been given is just too important for her to pass up. Besides, she knows that she can always go with them on vacation the following summer. However, unexpected tragedy strikes, and suddenly Coco is left completely heartbroken and all alone.

Sam Stein has been best friends with Coco since they met when he was in fifth grade, and she was in fourth grade. They have always been inseparable ever since they met, despite the fact that he is a year older and comes from a totally different background. Coco is the only child of wealthy parents, and Sam is the oldest of four children, and comes from a traditional Jewish Orthodox family. Sam's parents have always worried about his close friendship with Coco because they want Sam to marry within his faith. However, nothing and nobody will ever break that bond they have with one another. When tragedy strikes, it is Sam that is there to pick up the pieces of Coco's broken heart.

The story that unfolds is well-written, and follows the life of both Coco and Sam, and the bond that neither time nor distance can ever break. Coco was a character that I had a hard time liking at first. However, once I tried putting myself in her shoes...being young and naive and forced to suddenly have to grow up...I began to see it more from her point of view. Although I did not always agree with her choices, I did understand some of them. Sam is a more complex and interesting character, and I immediately found myself liking him. I truly felt sorry for him, as I believe he always wanted to be with Coco, but due to his upbringing, he did as his parents wanted.

Overall, this was a story about a true friendship that so many of us would be lucky to have in our lifetime. The whole "opposites attract" is definitely evident in their friendship, as it is their differences that are the strength of their relationship. The love, honesty and devotion between them is a beautiful thing to witness, despite whatever obstacles were thrown into their paths.

I would like to thank Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and review an ARC of All That Glitters. My views are my own, and are in no way influenced by anyone else.

This is another classic DS novel. Just as good as you would expect. I love her books & she is one of my authors who I don't even have to read the sypnosis to know I'm gonna love it. DS definitely had me guessing a couple of times on whether our heroines in this novel would make it to each other or not. I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves a good romance with some glamoue thrown in.. Thank you to Netgalley and Random House for my early review copy.

In these troubled times, there’s nothing like a Danielle Steel novel to take you away to a world of glamour, beautifully decorated homes around the globe, private planes and expensive cars. Sit down, put your feet up and meet Coco Martin.

Coco, the incredibly wealthy, pampered only daughter of Tom and Bethanie Martin, is devastated when her parents are killed in a terrorist attack in Europe. Her childhood friend Sam comforts her and urges her to finish her last semester of college but Coco decides to accept an internship with Time magazine in London. She immediately meets one of the first in a series of totally inappropriate men. Even though Sam points out their weaknesses, she fails to see that “all that glitters is not gold” and makes more mistakes. At last, she finds her soulmate and we have a happy ending.

All that Glitters is pure, delightful escapism. Although you know from the beginning how this romance will end, you’ll love how the story unfolds through New York, London and Paris. There are weekend parties in English country houses, holidays on chartered yachts, intimate dinners in out of the way French restaurants, chauffeurs, private chefs and housekeepers who manage estates. Coco’s world is balanced with unhappiness as she deals with grief and loneliness but she remains a charming, positive character throughout. 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group and Danielle Steel for this ARC.

All That Glitters is in some ways a typical Danielle Steel novel. A story of family, friends, betrayal, love and heartbreak. Coco seems to have it all...loving parents and her best friend since 4th grade, Sam. Coco and Sam both have many difficulties in their lives over the years but always remain the best of friends. They stick together through sickness, divorce, children and family expectations. Somehow this book fell a little short for me. Not one of my favorites (and there are many) by this author.

Thanks to netgalley and Delacorte Press for the arc
