All that Glitters follows the life of Nicole "Coco" Martin and her best friend, Orthodox Jew Sam. After Coco's parents were murdered in the South of France during a suicide bombing, she must learn to rebuild her life. She goes for the men with "Glitter" like Ed, Nigel and Ian, but Sam is always in the wings, even when he marries "trusty, reliable" Tamar. After Sam's divorce that left him the single parent of 4 children, Coco and her daughter Bethanie find all the glitters in the stability that Sam will offer.

A must read for all Danielle Steel fans! All That Glitters will not disappoint.

I was looking for an easy, mindless read, but instead I got something that enraged me on every page. Again, Danielle Steel writes about a gorgeous, thin, white woman, except she’s brunette this time! But wait, she has a Jewish best friend who happens to be Orthodox but doesn’t like being observant. I get that! But the trope of a nagging Jewish mother started to anger me. Then I find out a sister is named Sabra, like the hummus. Yes, it’s an Israeli word for a prickly person, but what reader would know that? Then, the main character’s wife was “boring, dull and unexciting” and all she cared about was having children. I’m not going to go into more detail because I’ll give it away, but her characterization and descriptions of Jewish characters was just horrendous. I recommend Danielle to not only look at her internal misogyny when describing a skinny white Christian woman, but also her latent views about Jews.

I love Danielle Steels books, this one had me crying before it really even started, Coco had such a hard time after her parents died and I think she was just totally lost for years. Sam was always there for her trying to be the voice of reason but she always had to learn the hard way. I really was so aggravated with her character for at least half of the book, I was really glad when she finally stood up for herself and did what she needed to do. I totally get that you have to go thru it all to come out on the other side, its part of the journey, she definetly had a journey and the book had the best ending. It was one of those that hooks you in and you only stop reading when you are done with the book. Definetly 5 stars on this one!

Coco is an only child living a very privileged life. Sam is her best friend and has been since fourth grade. Tragedy strikes when Coco‘s parents are killed when a terror attack strikes air France plane they are on. Coco goes through a series unsuccessful relationships over the course of several years, even producing a daughter. She is just about ready to “settle again“ before she realizes her true love is right before her eyes.

Danielle Steel delivers another escapist romance full of riches, tragedy, and (of course) love in All That Glitters.

Set mostly between NYC and London, readers watch as Coco Martin loses her adoring parents in an terrorist attack and is forced to navigate the world on her own. Though smart, her naivete causes her to make some questionable choices, b especially related to men on her journey to self discovery.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

Danielle Steel does it again! This is the story of a young girl, Coco who is an only child who gets along wonderfully with her parents. When tragedy hits she is able to lean on her best friend Sam who she has known almost her entire life and is always there for her. Then Coco is betrayed by the one person that she should have been able to trust. Coco takes off to London to heal and runs into another devastating relationship. Through all of this Sam is there for her, even after he is forced into a marriage he doesn’t think he is ready for. Coco goes back and forth from London to New York and then to Paris and St. Barts where she discovers that the only flash she wants is someone she never expected to end up with. All That Glitters will tear at your heartstrings and will make you smile!!

I would like to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for allowing me to review this book in exchange for an honest review. From the description, I thought this book would be different than it was. Coco (aka Nicole) is made an orphan early in the book. Her parents are killed by terrorists and she is forced to grow up fast. She begins immediately making stupid decisions. The only smart thing that she did was remain friends with Sam (her friend from elementary school). I didn't like what they did to Sam's family and with his marriage either. What I also didn't like, as with past Steel novels, everything comes too easily to the lead character. Like she doesn't ever struggle (minus the loss of her parents and tough lessons she is taught by the men she meets). I knew how the book was going to end within 30 pages of starting the book. I don't regret the time it took me to read this book as its nice to escape the insanity we currently live in.

A other great read by Danielle Steel. The book opens with CoCo an only child who has been spoiled by her parents. She cannot go with her parents on their annual vacation. They are in France where they are killed in a terrorist attach. CoCo is emotionally shattered. CoCo begins to make bad choices in her relationships with men except for her best friend Sam who has been her best friend from fourth grade on. He tells her she deserves better. Will they continue to be friends ? Will CoCo and Sam develop a new relationship ? Will Sam find himself in a situation he never expected? Thank you Random House Publishing and Net Galley for allowing me to read and review this book i

Nicole (aka Coco) Martin’s life beginning with her senior year at Columbia University in NYC. Tragically, her parents are killed in a terrorist bombing while on vacation in France. With all of Steel’s books, the protagonist is a strong, intelligent woman who navigates life’s challenges with courage and style. In this instance, Coco perseveres through a series of dysfunctional relationships characterized by “flash” with charming, flawed men. The portrayal of Sam’s religious Jewish family was very flawed. She could have been better advised.

All That Glitters by Danielle Steel is a book that will keep you enticed throughout. Every time I thought I had figured out where the story was going, the characters would go a completely different way. The characters are well written and you feel like you know them. They made me think
of friends I have known in my life and the struggles they endured and hard decisions they had to make. This a great book to remind you of tough times and how you succeeded through them. I found the story compelling in this crazy year of 2020 and how much has gone wrong but yet we persevere though it. You will love these characters and the adventures you will go on as they travel between beautifully written destinations.

All that Glitters is Danielle Steel’s latest offering presents her expected storytelling style – young girl of privilege, Coco, who encounters life’s obstacles over the course of 150 - 200 pages or so and then realizes her destiny is with her best friend Sam - and this "glittery tale" was no different. Although some reviewers were critical of the portrayal of Sam and the Jewish culture, I enjoyed the inclusion of this glimpse of this diverse cultural perspective. All this being said, I enjoyed every page turning moment over the course of a few short hours. My only personal critique (as others have said), is I wish the story would have lasted longer. I’m looking forward to Danielle Steel’s next fictional release “Neighbors”.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

It has been years since I’ve read a Danielle Steel book and All That Glitters didn’t disappoint. Danielle Steel was my mom’s favorite author and we would read her books at the beach together. Her book Fine Things was my first introduction into the romance genre and lead the way to my love for them. I feel she has proven herself time and again as the queen of the romance novel. It has everything a good one has - angst, drama, and a hero you are rooting for.
If you are looking for a quick and enjoyable break from reality, All that Glitters is the book for you!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

This was a great story of romance and whirlwind relationships. I enjoyed seeing the lavish life Coco lived, along with her challenges of being a mom. However, the ending seemed abrupt, even though I had figured out the direction it was going.

I have been reading Danielle Steel novels for many years and, for the most part, enjoyed them all.

This book left me very disappointed. I felt the main character, “Coco”, became very boring in her continual bad choices. I continually had the urge to tell her to “get a grip and grow up”.

The book centers on her trying to “find herself” after the death of her parents, but seems to be long and very repetitious in the relationships she chooses as she matures. The one salvation to this story was her childhood friend, Sam, who continued to be her constant support through everything. The end of the story was actually the best part of the book. I would have liked to have seen the ending develop a little more.

Thanks to Random House Publishing – Ballantine and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book. The opinions expressed were entirely my own.

This book is pure Danielle Steele. The heroine is a young woman struck by tragedy. Coco is a college student with a golden world. All that comes crashing down and her life is forever changed. Supported by her best friend Sam, she weathers several steamy romances. Coco travels in ever more interesting circles and meets a world of interesting men and women, going to parties, European vacations, and trips on some of the world's best yachts. Experiencing what her friend Sam describes as the glitter and glad. As life gets more and more complicated for Coco it also evolves for her friend Sam. This is another of Danielle Steele's feel good reads. She is the unmatched queen of romance. Enjoy this book. Steele's books are like a warm blanket on a cold night. Coco has grown up an only child with parents who basically spoil her rotten. She has an unusual relationship/best friend with, Sam who is from a Jewish family. She is getting ready to start an internship at Time for the summer while her mother & father go on a trip overseas. While in France, they are both killed during a terrorist attack. She is left a rather sizable inheritance so she has some time to mourn and gather her thoughts. After some time, she goes oversees to begin a job so she can feel like she is taking care of herself. Through many somewhat poor decisions, she becomes involved with several men who all in the end teach her some valuable life lessons.

I have read a few books by Danielle Steel and have enjoyed the ones I have read. This was an interesting story but had a somewhat predictable ending.

Thank you to the publisher, Dell and Net Galley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Danielle Steel has LONG been a favorite author of mine! I have been reading her books since high school - 30 plus years ago! So I always enjoy a new book from Danielle Steel, and All That Glitters was no exception. The main character, Coco, is a young woman who possesses amazing inner strength in the face of tragedy and loss, and in the face of betrayals in relationships. What helps get her through tragedy and betrayal is her long running friendship with Sam, her friend since third grade. In All That Glitters, Coco is orphaned while still in college, and slowly finds her way through immense grief, while learning, painfully, how to not be taken advantage of due to the vast fortune she has inherited. Danielle Steel weaves a deep, compelling tale of Coco's experiences with love, career, relationships, and betrayal. Fans of Danielle Steel, and of women's fiction, will very much enjoy All That Glitters.

Danie;;e Steel brings to life the story of Coco and her choices in ife that often do not work out for her. In typicaly Steel fashion I was able to predict quite well what would happen as the story went along. However, she provided some details with twists and turns. As always she tugs at your emotions, all the while experienceing a wide range of these emotions!
